Sounds a lot like conspiracy theories. France appear to lose with Deby's death but it raises a whole lot of questions why didn't they intervene and allow Deby to go to the front if those reports are true, why would they when they could easily halt the advancing rebel column with precision strikes. It might be a game of cards to complicate matters for Abuja in the war or Abuja knows something and would prefer a new leadership in N'djamena. Niger knows its future lies with Nigeria not France a declining power. This whole thing could get some perspective if Nigeria decide it's time to end French hegemony of Francophone West Africa and it can but with a war on its hands it might not be prudent to do so now rather maybe better to employ clandestine means and ECOWAS mechanisms like the Eco currency to achieve those ends. It can also guarantee presidential security for pliant states. That is one way to weed these states off France.

And i never said chad was part of ecowas.. point was why can't our regional block help chad if they request it. regardless of what france says.
You are just confused, just an advise, discuss things you know, leave the rest alone, talking directionless isn't smart.
Why will a regional block you don't belong to, no membership obligations, no security agreement just wake up & help you? does it sound smart to you?
why will Ecowas give a fvck about Chad?

True and I believe it is time Africa as a bloc starts having this conversation.

Mind you, it is this subjugation that have kept much of francophone Africa in the bottom belt of all developmental indexes inspite of their massive wealth.
Why should all Africans have that discussion? the 14 slave states of Africa should go sort themselves out, even Anglophone Africans that got the best independence deal in the world, do their present generation appreciate the good works of their heroes past?
Don't you hear demented groups like IPOB, Arewa & Oduduwa mad people?
Do they know what it takes to get a fully independent African state?

They brought it upon themselves, Anglophones won't give a damn about them.
PAN African movement was the Bulwark of Anglophone independence, with reasonable Francophone participation at the onset.

The PAN African strategy was negotiating independence as a block against stronger colonial powers.

2nd World war presented an opportunity for PAN African consortium because the Royal Navy was stretched thin, Paris fell to Hitler, while a new power broker US emerged, France at the weakest made promises to them some of them pulled out from PAN Africa, some like Algeria & Morocco fought France at her weakest and broke out.

PAN Africa later became successful with Britain pulling out without conditions, France did likewise but held on to their independence agreements till she consolidated power, joined the UNSC & NATO handed them the pacté cólónie agreement (independence tax) at gun point.

If they remained with PAN Africa fully, the later will reject that deal then present a fighting chance for members at the weakest points of the adversary.

Guinea under Toure Conte was courageous enough to reject the deal, France burned the country to the ground, that sent a message of fear to others, every other attempt to pull out of that agreement has been met with French sponsored assassinations.

Ecowas doesn't need the blessing of the UNSC to deploy troops within West Africa for peacekeeping missions. They can seek it if they need support or if the UN is deploying troops.
Now I'm open to be corrected by people who know better. I'm simply stating my opinion
Countries have deployed troops into neighboring countriesmany times without some darn UNSC authorization
. And once again, read comments properly before jumping into it. did i ever mentioned anything about the AU deploying troops? why even bother with this guy.
AU is to support the actions ecowas would take. and if Ecowas states including chad agrees, france can't stop it. its all diplomacy. you think france would go to war with West Africa over chad? it's all about optics, and it won't be good for france. Especially if the idea of ecowas being there is to help stabilize chad. Why would france say no to that.
Did Saudi Arabia got authorization from UNSC before going into Yemen? not sure. and can't find info that they did
Mention one AU intervention where a permanent member of the UNSC has interest without the later's ratification, just one!!
Don't just assume things, it is not possible for the AU to set out against French interest in Africa, it has never happened.

OBJ reluctantly signed the Green tree agreement with Cameroon at the behest of France at a time the former was the AU chairman, why did OBJ not use AU machinery against France?

Leave the man. Chad and france aren't at war. Chad is a sovereign nation. Its their right. they don't even have to use force or be rude. play the pity game of the small guy being bullied and colonized in it's own country and you will see world opinion going against france. you can't force your presence on another country you aren't at war with and no agreement in place for what duration you will be there, if there was an agreement a d money was paid to Chad, then France have the right to not leave etc.
if anything france will bribe them with more assistance in other to stay.
Only an ignorant person thinks Chad is a sovereign state, take your time & read their independence agreement b4 opening your mouth again, you are not worth my time.

You are now saying Chad is a colony and not independent? okay.
comparing crimea/Russia or US /Alaska. these are different scenarios. Alaska was purchased, the crimea and the soviets have their own history.
I didnt know chad share border with france, or darn, how did African countries managed to gain their independence fro. the all powerful West.
don't fall for mirage and take control of your own destiny. until we do that, we will keep kneeling in front of these fools. There are countries and leaders that went against the west and survived it. its nothing new. The consequences might be dire, but atleast they aren't beholden to any foreign power.
you belittle the strength of the continent because you have no faith in it, france is movable, so chad is poor, and that's an excuse for subjugation? its their land, their independent territory. Not France's. sentiments or not.
I don't know much about military stuff, but politics and optics, i know quite a bit. Compare Assad to Ghadafi, one was calm and collected, the other was insane, to the point of threatening to level tripoli than to see it fall. That was a critical error he made in his messaging and the West used that against him. oh he's about to kill everyone in tripoli, he has to be stopped. Gotta control your messaging and temperament

France isn't some all powerful entity. There are limits, and the world still have rules that Govern it
Chad is an extremely poor country with very little bargaining Chip, Chad has nothing to offer the Chinese or Russians, life is not a movie.

if there's a need to intervene in chad, we can go thru the AU, its all about audacity and actually having a spine, clarify your objectives and reasons for such deployment. if the AU and Ecowas approves deployment into chad, with the support of the chadian Govt, , France can not stop it. this is the problem black people keep having, we put ourselves down and put these westerners on a pedestal. call their bluff, as long as you aren't committing atrocities, there's nothing france or the west can do to stop such deployment. All they need is an excuse, take that away from them by doing things right, and their opinion become irrelevant.
you wouldn't know until you try.
Our problem in Sub-Saharan Africa is our lack of assertiveness. what a shame.
Strong militaries in the AU dont ever commit troops in Francophone conflicts because in the end, the UNSC will ratify all military interventions & France will squash everything with her veto, do you expect Nigeria to return to Mali like we did in 2013? hell no!!

France's reputation can be easily ruined if they make unpopular move, and all it takes is a few strokes on a keyboard. The world is more sensitive than before.
Only reason he might be unable to if he wanted would be if they have some sort of agreements in place, And I'm talking about french military presence in the region. Chad isn't powerless, only risk i see for them in my scenario is economic

Go on Twitter and search “isikwuato Herdsmen”
Also refer to a map and see how close isikwuato and ohafia are to ebonyi state.
Usual pack of rubbish, I'm sure if it was Benue or Ebonyi you wont need a Binoculars to find it.
There are more Kidnapping cases in the SE than Fulani militia, if ESN claim to be fighting the militia then its a SCAM!!

Why will I believe the nonsense you just wrote? I patronize their meat, how are they part of the militia?
They (herdsmen) complain the Militia rustle their cows, what does that mean to you, do you expect them to steal from themselves?

Dont believe ESN has made contact with the militia, the day they do, You will understand why Nigeria is fighting them with NAF Special forces not some Mopol boy scout.
ESN is basically harassing herdsmen who are mainly livestock dealers, this is a fact, tell me anywhere in the east down to Rivers where there has been any report of Fulani militia hit, if the answer is no, then I expect ESN to operate in Ebonyi state alone, now educate me, what the fvck are they doing in other areas?

No Fulani militia in Anambra?

Bro, take a ride through Nando-Umueri-Aguleri-Igariam towns down to Ayamelum LGA to-Anam-Adani towns. IF you successfully get to any town in Ayamelum LGA without running into them, ask the villagers to direct you to their farms then you go there alone. IF you get back unscathed, you can now come and talk like you know what's happening in Anambra state.

PS.... You can take this ride at any time of the day.
We have lived with herdsmen for nearly a century so seeing them is no news, I asked, where are the Fulani militia in Anambra? if you dont know the difference between herdsmen and militia, I cant help you.
The communities you mentioned have no Fulani militia, I speak the language of facts not the bullshit ESN vomit online, if you cant show me where the militias are in Anambra, what is ESN doing there?

You're a complete idiot that is out of touch with reality.
Let me give you small sense, We all know the Bight of Biafra existed for ages before Gowon changed it to the Bight of Benin. The name Biafra as a country was suggested by Frank Opigo a bonafide Ijaw son. You mischievously want to down play the role many Niger Deltans played in Biafra because other Niger Delta sons fought on the federal side and it suits your biased narrative. Some Igbos even sided and fought with the federal gov't if that is where your drifting to. For every Isaac Boro there is an Effiong, Opigo, Willy Murray Bruce etal.
Kaduna Nzeogwu was from the then Mid west present day Niger Delta (full stop) you're been clever by half saying his not a Nicer Delta son because he is not from an oil producing community, if I may ask how many Niger Delta communities have oil exploration in their domain? Cross River have no oil, does that make them not a part of Niger Delta? To show how foolish you are you don't even no the meaning of Niger Delta. I'll leave Google to cure your ignorance.
That a Niger Delta son piloted a naval warship what is the big deal there if some choose to fight for the federal side while others from same region fought in the Biafran side infact most of the toughest Biafran commanders were from Niger Delta. Wily Murray Bruce and August Okpe flew bombing runs and are proud Ijaw sons do your research dunderhead.
Nobody prays for war, but Nigeria today is not as United as before even the middle beltans that made up majority of the foot soldiers on the federal side during the civil war are now removing themselves from the core north, even within the army there are loyalties to ethnicities. Even if one comes the entire nation will be the theatre of the war and not one particular region this time, so rest.

It's a waste of time engaging arm chair analysts.
For someone to even think that a strategy used in the Civil war which was more of a conventional warfare will work now such a person shouldn't be taken seriously, when it's clear that this IPOB guys will resort of guerilla tactics. Let's assume the "Choking" will work why hasn't same be applied to bandits in operating within Kaduna/Niger axis atleast that stretch of forest is within the boundaries of Nigeria. Apply same method in the east and see the entire nations apparathik collapse, most especially now that their are grumblings and mistrust in all regions of the country. This will further boost Nnamdi Kanu propaganda and swell his rank, all he needs to do is to make it seem as if the FG is out to annihilate the people of the region and even academics, and the upper class will but into the propaganda and the least thing we can afford as a nation is anything that will seem to further crack the already loosened thread that holds the country together.
I still believe we can de-escalate this Biafran agitations and make Nnamdi Kanu irrelevant by first of all doing the basics to unify the country, and restructuring amongst other measures will assuage the already heightened tension all over the country. The carrot and stick approach may work but outright force will worsen the situation and make those guys hardened & fanatical, how do you now intend to overcome an enemy that has been brainwashed by a certain ideology and they see death as an option rather than capitulating. we will all be in the diaspora analysing choking, & breathing, strategy while those so called bunch of drug addicts, are present in over 100 countries of the world donating money to fund their movement. Nobody is asking why our security agencies can't seem to jam IPOBs pirate station which is the single most effective channel that have indoctrinated alot of the populace including the elderly, if the security agencies had done that in its infancy Kanu wouldn't have had that platform & reach rather they were busy chasing inanities rather than the Source. This issue of IPOB is paining me seriously because these guys are wining fanatical converts everyday, travel to the east and parts of the South South(Especially Delta/Rivers) you'll be shocked at massive following Kanu have, many people are becoming sympathetic to his cause this are people that ordinarily would not take him serious before.
He uses the realities and issues on ground to manipulate the people and the govt isn't countering it with superior ideology. Now under the guise of Herdsmen crises/Kidnapping(which are real issues) he has floated the ESN which the state/Federal are against, yet they can't come up with something to secure the people from the rampaging Bororo Herdsmen. The people that committed massacre in Uwani in Enugu are still at large, same for the militia herders that commited atrocities in Ebonyi last week even one person hasn't been brought to book. Even if the Devil appears today promising to address issues the people are facing he will surely win converts, are you not surprised that the Igboho's, Gani Adams, Kanus etc are getting popular overnight? We can all keep on postulating, theorising, hypothesising, interpolate & extrapolate while those on ground keep on winning the masses.
Stop that herdsmen nonsense no sensible person will believe that, the only place that experience fula militia attack is Ebonyi what is ESN doing in Anambra, Imo, Abia, Delta & Rivers? still hunting Herdsmen? tell that nonsense to the dogs.
There are more kidnappers & armed robbers in the east than herdsmen, while hunting your fictitious herdsmen you jailbreak kidnappers & murderers, arm an assortment of drug addicts then expect my support is that not madness?
We dont need any herdsmen militia in the SE, we need anti kidnapping militia.

I doubt the current administration has the balls to do this.
Another advantage that ISWAP/JAS has that IPOB/ESN lacks is support from a wide range of experienced allies(Terrorists organizations from all over the world have assisted ISWAP and JAS with supplies, tactics, technology and advising in several roles nevertheless, ESN should never be underestimated, they have easy access to the nation's economic backbone(oil rigs and pipelines; whether they have good relationship with the ND is still debatable but we have seen ex militants like Asari Dokubo associating with them. Use of force should be the last resort. Even the military should be advising the government to avoid force for now, there is nothing beneficial to be achieved from it.

Schooling and other economic activities has since stopped in the part of Southern Cameroon where the ambazonias are waging an insurgency, I do not see how the case will be different in the south east. Buhari will leave by 2023 but the damages will take several years to heal.
Asari Dokubo is no longer a force to reckon with in the Niger delta creeks, he is an over fed ex-militant residing quietly in Benin Republic, he has no structure in the creeks anymore, any partnership with him has no strategic value.

Even the so called Biafra was a coinage from an Ijaw chief. I hope you know the military are having confrontations in AkwaIbom and sooner or later Rivers state would join the fray, many of you especially those from outside the region don't know whats going on. Rivers and Abia have some of the most extremists elements of IPOB if you don't know. I won't even want to drag the matter of a Biafra republic with clowns like you because you people easily bring up this argument when serious issues are being discussed but if you think the Niger Delta region comprising of hundreds of ethnic groups would want to be a part of Nigeria and not be on their own assuming they don't even want biafra then the joke is on you.
Y
This is the kind of ignorance Nigerian army is designed for, Biafra was coined from the "Bight of Biafra" a region originally inhabited by the Portuguese, another place that got her name from that era was Lagos from Laos",
While Kaduna Nzeogwu was from the Mid-west at the time he committed those heinous crimes, it doesn't give him a Niger delta pass because he isnt from an oil producing region.
Rivers IPOB radicals have been tested, go to Obigbo & see for yourself, Gov Wike a true Niger delta has humbled & broken their guts.
Speaking of Ojukwu's Biafra, do not forget who the first militant against the eastern region was, fought gallantly on the Nigerian side to teach Ojukwu a bitter lesson, his name was Isaac Adaka Boro, Let me also remind you about the guy who piloted Nigerian's largest Naval ship christened the NNS Nigeria, he was the hero of Operation Tiger claw (the fall of Calabar), not only did he conduct the first Amphibious landing in Africa, he sank Ojukwu's only battleship, his name is Navy Captain Sorro.
I am not one of those chaps you can sell Kanu's wet dreams to.

You think a destabilised South east region wont harm the economy of the country? most especially when Imo state has a proven gas reserve of over 6 trillion cubic ft(A resources of the future) energy coys are tussling to build refineries & win mouthwatering gas deals this govt wants to lay pipes down to Morocco under the guise of AKK project. Those giants gas pipelines to the north you think they don't pass through the region & are buried in the air ? not to talk of the oil exploration in parts of Abia & Imo and the proven reserves in the Anambra trough.
Judging by 13% derivation from the NBS, Imo state is least on the derivation food chain, AKK pipeline has no business with Imo state, pick up a book!!

Everyone knew that IPOB guys picking up arms today is as a result of the high handedness of the military, by the time they win 100% sympathy of the populace it will be interesting to see how the army will overcome a group that will easily recruit 50k at a go to launch guerilla warfare against an already overstretched and Ill equipped military, that even have IPOB sympathisers within their Officer cadre.
Obviously, you have no clue why Ojukwu lost that war, do you think he ran out of men? recruiting men in a SE conflict wont do any good, you need a re-supply corridor, where will you get that? Ojukwu tried for 14 months to get it, when the choke took his last capital Owerri, he ran away, are you not aware? I will recommend a book we read in the Academy "Defense & security problems of Land Locked countries by R.N. Mishra and Suveer Singh, after reading this book, you will understand why any insurrection in the SE is a bloody waste of time, even if Nigeria uses only boyscout, they must win!!
Dont rely too much on sympathies, when you jail break for recruitment, you are making the people vulnerable to robbers & kidnappers, at a point, they will prefer to have herdsmen than ESN, besides, herdsmen is not a major SE problem except Ebonyi state, Most Anambrarians dont know what Herdsmen look like, but they are wealthy enough to be kidnapped, where do you think their Sympathy will go?

Not when they have the support of their people.... Take away the support first then you will find it very easy to solve. Another insurgency will really bleed the military, especially the army.
What manner of person will support a bunch of drug addicts that claim to fight Militia yet set up bases where there are no militia issues?
What manner of person will support a person that kills a police officer (legitimate force) hands his riffle over to a drug addict?
What manner of person supports a group that recruits from the prison?

Nobody is truly innocent, low IQ should be a crime as well so when your brain process information wrongly, your body pays for it.

It will be very unwise for the government to fight back right now.... That is exactly IPOB's plan so that they can get the sympathy of the people and get more recruits. The best thing to do is to avoid them. The militants will soon start making mistakes and the local population that are sympathetic to them currently will soon start getting tired of them.
You are not in any position to discuss the best strategy of approach because you are not an authority, the best in your books is BS in mine therefore, those whose job it is will do it when they deem wise, in SS presently, IPOB is a persona non grata, they think they are still in 2015, rain will fall, any wet sympathizer can gladly join them.
