Wondering why both husband and wife will want to go for study visa at the same time knowingly fully well that dependants can also study full time.


My opinion, one person goes for study visa and the other and kids as dependant. The dependant can also study full time. If the dependant applies within the UK, it should be easier and should not require CAS because they already have a valid visa, however the fees will be classed as overseas so it will be the same fees for international students

It might be more prudent for one to go to school upon the other’s graduation. That way, the one who graduated can work full time to support the family while the other person goes to school.

I’m not sure but I think the student visa application second person can be done in UK - @duchesses kindly confirm.

What I will suggest is that the husband should apply for masters first, while the wife and children will be his dependants, then after he his done with his masters, then the wife will then apply for masters, the husband and children will then be her dependant, this will them more time in the uk securing a sponsored job.The gurus in the house can add to this.

Can both husband and wife apply for student visa. They have 2 children as dependents. If they are both granted student visa individually, how does this affect the children who are going with them as child dependent?

On the other hand, if only one person applies for student visa and the other partner as dependent, can the dependent go for the masters degree with the student dependent visa? Does the partner still need CAS in this instance?

The family paid for other members to join the MA on that day.

If main applicant has a date for Abuja tls, while dependents have a farther date, can they all go on MA'S date and pay walk in for the rest of the family?
Would they be easily allowed in as long as one person has an appointment?

Congratulations on your scholarship.

Your CAS would state that you are fully funded, so you don't need to provide proof of funds for your tuition fees.
Does the scholarship include stipend for living expenses too? If yes, then it means you are totally covered, no need for any proof of fund.
If no, then you need to provide proof of funds for your living expenses.

I just got accepted for a fully funded PhD in the UK. Do I still need to show proof of funds in my bank account? Clearly, I don't have the money, if not I will not have applied for the scholarship. But how do I show in my application, that my schooling is funded?

In addition, what other documents do I need to start putting in order. I've been told by the school that my CAS will soon be ready and I know about the tuberculosis test too.

But is it true they will ask for passport details and other info of the family member(s)?

Reply yes cos they might find out and to avoid concealment of information offense because some day both of you will end up applying for a visa that would converge all your family records.

Perhaps they have enough funds to afford another request and since its going to the same school, its a win-win situation when the banks finally respond. And sorry I don't know if the lien is lifted automatically cos I've not gone through the process of cancelation but ask your account officer.

From what you said, how then do some people apply in multiple banks to see which one moves faster?

If lien has been placed on all accounts used, how then does one escape the lien after porting to another bank?

Is it easy to cancel the application and if yes, does the cancellation automatically nullifies the lien?

Hmmm interesting - was the amount placed on lien after the initial submission?

The first step usually after you submit your form is for the bank to place the amount requested equivalent in Naira under lien (you still see it under your book balance but its not available to you). Was that done? Else if they had placed 50% in lien, amending to 75% may have consequences. You might want to contact your account officer at your bank.

I learn it takes between 3-4 weeks with some banks or 8 weeks with some others.

This means you applied in two different banks. I think I have seen people talk of applying in multiple banks too. This means I can apply without funding the account yet right? At what stage do I need to fund the account to avoid rejection please?

I made deposit with TAJ bank for over a month and Unity bank for over 2 weeks now.

None of them is being debited.

I'm curious about this date issue please.
I haven't gotten my CAS yet , but on my offer letter, I have:
Start date: 26/09/2022
End date: 31/08/2023.

This is not up to a year. If it is maintained like this on my CAS, what implication does it have please? Especially as it concerns the chances of getting a post graduate visa after my studies?

With the examples here that dependant visa seem to be faster than student visa. Do you think it is a good idea if I apply as main applicant as soon as my POF clocks 28 days. While dependants apply 2 weeks after, (assuming their own POF will mature by then?)

Is their a chance the students visa and dependants visa arrive around the same time this way?

If you get a sponsor, you can switch from Dependant to Tier 2

Main applicant can switch to a Tier 2 dependant at anytime. If main applicant switches, s/he doesn't qualify for PSW no longer

Can one be lucky to get a sponsored job for tier 2 while on dependant visa?

If it is, does the main applicant on student visa need a post graduate visa anymore? I mean will he/she now switch to be the dependant after schooling?

My baby and I did our biometric on the 4th of May and got collection mail on the 1st of June,which is 21 days and we are dependent.

All student visa application are the same with scholarship or not.it is the evidence you upload that tells whether the above applies.

What used to fasten visa application was priority or super priority, unfortunately these options are not available for now

On IOM website, there is a visa type called 'student visa with scholarship'.
I want to ask if this visa type option also exists at the point of applying for visa.
If it does, does it have a chance of making the visa approved faster or with less hassles?

I was truthful with my US Visa refusal in my eligibility to study. Though, with some good travelling history. University of Bolton gave me an unconditional offer, had a successful pre cas interview on the 16th and email to proceed with deposit 4 days after.
