Why are you all sounding like Tstv's only intention is to take on Dstv.. can't they just operate like AcTv (launched in 2015), CTL, DaarSat, MetrodigitalTv etc.

Metrodigital Tv has all bein channels and has been operating for 4 years now.
Their sub is cheap too, only 3,300 or thereabout.

Tstv is here to stay.

I agree with you and that was what finished HITV the moment they lost epl right to dstv. Every market has what drives it and football in Africa is massive.

For dstv Nigeria, football and Africa magic (women love this station especially when it tribal).

I personally want it to break even and force dstv to drop price cos personally, I pay 12,100 on my Explora becos I don't go to view center and I wish to be able to watch chelsea on any station they hide it cos at times they take matches to super sport channels that are restricted to higher bouquet. What I pay is too much, so I would also enjoy price reduction from dstv if TSTV does well. So I am not against TSTV at all.

Brother, thanks for all the write up, very educative and informative but the truth is, EPL right is the major thing holding down multi choice in nigeria.
If tstv can maneuver a way to show EPL matches along side dstv/ Gotv, forget other stations.
The market will break even.
Keynote: EPL/champions league is the selling point.

People should be careful and not get carried away by euphoria. Like I said on the other thread I still have one complete years subscription locked up in my moribund HiTV decoder and no one has admitted liability for this. Even one of the analysts on HiTV is now a commissioner in Lagos state.
Look before you leap,because that's what I will do before committing a penny into this new station. I dislike DSTV for their financial rip off but I don t wanna jump from frying pan to the fire.

I used the CTL basket antenna when I was based in Port Harcourt and I am telling you that the football comentries were all in Arabic,only half time analysis and post match analysis were in English.
These questions need to be answered,because if these channels are meant for the Arab world and some one is trying to play a fast one by bringing the content to Africa,then people could lose their money paid for subscription If legal/court battles ensue.

I pointed it out to you that TSTV is coming to battle Dstv for their own market share like hitv did and nowhere did I make mention of gotv or startimes ish. I agree with you that Dstv will react which is the beauty of when a market loses its monopoly, and those to benefit from it will be the consumers who will have to make their choice. Dstv has been sitting on the high table for a long time and it's time for someone to make them shift grounds.

And don't quote me out of context, i said glorified Dstv stations that TSTV will definitely have substitute for. I was expecting u will understand this by meaning stations like telemundo and zee world most ladies crave will be catered for by TSTV. And that was why I said if the promoters of TSTV have studied the market well enough, they won't suffer the same fate as hitv.

Coca cola has the best strategist/ sales analyst around, yet they have been unable to kill off Pepsi and other 7up products in naija till date. Ponder on that

you are absolutely right. Hitv & Dstv bought epl view rights from the same company that is why they can't both air same live match at same time. Tstv is subscribing to Bein sport so they can compete with Dstv. My only concern is d language of commentary. I don't think bein sport has English audio channel
