Hello everyone,
I recently submitted our pr application for me and my spouse last 2weeks. Can I still do a change of name for my spouse at this point and update CIC?

It is possible through a CSE.

Why exactly do you want this change of name? Did you submit a passport with a different name or you intend to change the name on her international passport?

FBI PCC is valid for 1 year as long as you don’t visit the US after getting your report.

Somebody should please interprete this my profile for me. I don't understand the IP1 and NA thingy. Thanks in advance

This is can be NA1, NA2 or NA3. There is actually no rigid rule to the movement, but the stages have been defined by experience/trends.

The usual steps for a FSW-Outland Application is as shown below:

NA1>IP1>NA2>IP2>PPR.

Note that few applications like mine will skip NA2 and go straight to IP2, while on rare occasions may move to NA3 before the PPR mail is triggered.

Note: All NA stages will have Not Applicable for Background Check.

IP1 will have Application in Progress.........
for Background check.

IP2 will have Background Check in progress.

Best Wishes.

Wow ! Wow ! I guess this only applies to the statement of result while the transcript will still have to be sent by regular courier by the school ?

And this is so dope thanks, you just added a few CAD to my POF.
May twins fall on you . Amen.

Just for the statement of result or Certificate, the transcript should go directly from the school or mailed as sealed by the school.

People are however encouraged to do their own personal research, if they have the risk appetite.

You may therefore choose to research with your transcript.

Thanks for the twins cheesy. Kindly pay it forward cos this old daddy has closed “shop”. grin

Good people, I am in the process of evaluating my masters but I just got information from the school that my certificate is not yet ready.
As we all know that the process of wes evaluation involves submiting the transcript together with the certificate,
Can I send my statement of result i.e notification of result that was given immediately we finished the programme ?
Will WES evaluate my degree using this notification of result and transcript before I waste alot of money sending same to wes.
Please assist all .

Capital Yes. I even uploaded Statement of Result for my PR application.

You can also eliminate the initial courier cost for your result by faxing the document to WES (Fax: 416-972-9004).

There are a number of free fax service online, but I have used hellofax successfully. See link:
https://www.hellofax.com

Just ensure you add a cover page containing your WES Ref number to the fax.

Best of Luck!

Hi guys!

I finally got ITA. grin

I was wondering, when filling my application; travel history specifically: I travelled to Ghana by road 4 years ago with my old passport, passed through Benin and Togo boarders to get there and of course my passport was stamped anyhow.

Will I need to include Togo and Benin in countries I have been to? Even though all these stamps are on my old passport and Ghana was the destination?

Do i need to include scanned pages of stamps and travel history on my old passport?

Thanks

You need to include all travel in the last 10 years, so include it and quote reason/purpose as “In-Transit”.

Scan only Data page, markings and visas on your current passport. The VO will request if additional information is required.

Best Wishes.

or can i explain im doing a masters and have it expedited? i cant lose this as i will be going there after my masters.

please respond urgently

Another option is to apply for a permanent resident travel document from outside Canada if you don’t have your PR card.

See link: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/travel-document/index.asp

Just ensure you land before your visa expire.

hi guys. i got my passport back alongside my wife. we both have pr certificate but the visa is on my passport only. shes a british citizen and owns a british passport. is this why? or do i need to send her passport back to ghana?

anyone thats been in this situation please let me know

It’s fine! She only needs her COPR (the long white paper). Your visa will also be canceled upon landing.

She will however need an eTA along with her passport to travel.

When I simulated my CRS with a perfect IELTS LSRW 8777 for myself and my wife, with two Bachelors already evaluated by CES I got a score of 434

When I simulated my CRS with a perfect IELTS LSRW 8777 for myself and my wife, with a Masters degree (Hoping WES will do the right thing) I got a score of 441.

In your opinion, is 434 good enough for EE draw? or I should try and get WES evaluation to have 441, hoping ofcourse that our IELTs will be like envisaged.

Lastly, what is the least CRS score that can guarantee a draw based on recent events?

Thank you.

434 should pass for now. The cutoff for the last draw for FSW was 433. See link to historical rounds of invitations:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/past-rounds.asp.

A quick question, was you academic qualification assessed as bachelors Degree or Two degree? cos the difference between your first and second simulation seem strange.

Finally, I guess it’s safe to get a new report, cos it may not be a good idea to be seeking employment with an expired ECA upon landing.

Best of Luck!

Thank you Judgement for your response.

I need a quick clarification on the ECA and IELTS please.

The last time I did ECA with CES, they assessed my Masters Degree as Bachelors which was strange. A fellow student with the same degree from the same Swedish University got his assessed as Masters few years earlier.

Can I get a better assessment through another ECA? Please suggest.

On IELTS, a family friend of mine has done IELTS academic before, can she use the result for FSW?

You can process a new ECA report using IQAS or WES.

Academic ielts is not valid for FSW. It must be the general option.

Best Wishes.

@Kontagious Congratulations to you.

Please I am semi new to all of this. The last time I tried Canadian migration was 2013.

Your ECA is valid for 5 years while IELTS is valid for 2 years.

I will therefore assume that you will need a new English test.

I will suggest you start by taking the six factor test to determine your eligibility for FSW. Also use the crs tool to simulate your “possible” point.

You can then register for ielts and aim for a minimum of 8777 in LRWS.

Best of Luck.

Hello gurus in the house,

I would like to ask the following questions:
1. on POF, wifey is the PA but she has a loan running with the bank. Does CIC raise eyebrow on applicant with running loans? How best can we go about it (Note that there is no intention of leaving the country without paying off the loan just that it is not the priority now)

2. our 2nd child is a US citizen without naija passport till now, could there be any issue submitting her US passport or is it better to get her Naija passport before the stage when we would be asked to submit all our passports?

PLease I need answers ooo.

Thank you

Good day housePlease I need your advice seriously.Me and my husband Ielts result came out todayMine -LRWS 8.5,7,7,7.5Husband- LRWS 9,9,6.5,7. first attempt (7.5,7.6.6.5)I am apply as PA because of the result, I am not sure of which of his result that I will use because we are thinking of remarking his writing in the latest result.if I use his latest result, we got 437if I use the previous one we got 433But with the current draw, 437 is safer. My question is that should we use the 433 and apply for remark or 437?The second Part is that I don't have upto 3years experience. Now we are thinking of claiming 3years saying that I started teaching when I was schooling, is that advisable? Please I need your advice please..will they confirm from where I work by coming or calling?thanks

Madam! Please don't go astray. You always need a lie to cover up another, so please don't start.

My opinion on this, if the 437 is with the "correct" 2 years experience, please use it asap. You will most likely get an ITA by the next draw which should be between 2 - 3 weeks. You also have six (6) weeks to submit a request for remark, so waiting for 2-3weeks for a draw is a well calculated risk.

Note that you can no longer use the Ielts result once you submit it for remark.

Best of Luck.

My Ielts journey-  To urge someone on.

 LRSW

 1st attempt 8/6.5/7.5/7.5
2nd attempt 8.5/6.5/7/7
At this point I was upset with the test and just registered again  and ofcourse the result was even worse.Seemed like I was retrogressing instead.I became discouraged.
3rd attempt  7.5/6.5/8/6.5
At this point I realised it was no play affair.i took time off work to prep.
4th Attempt 8.5/6.5/8.5/7.5
I was defeated and broken and began to have doubts about my Canadian aspirations and the possibility that the Canadian dream may not be for everyone(Me). It seemed my prayers were not being answered. This time, I didn't rush to register. I read Kontagious post about his experience with the test. His post relieved some of the disappointment. I read Bigfido's post of success after 7 attempts and I was encouraged not to give in to defeat yet. I consequently  applied and paid for remark(against my better judgement but I was thinking it may be a technical glitch. I mean it's weird right, 6.5 in reading 4 times). About 3 days after the application for remark, I got a call from the test administrator from  BC asking to meet me. I went and he listening to me and explained to me that he assessed my answer sheet and what I was awarded was really my score. He wanted me to make a cautioned choice for the remark.I sighed and withdrew the EOR. I registered again for ielts leaving enough time to practice. All the materials I got from this platform were great.
5th Attempt 8/8.5/8/7
God's mercy found me. My Crs has moved address from 395 to 449. All praise to God.

Congrats! Persistence pays.

lease All,

I need info on how to re-submit(get back in the pool) after your ITA expires.

This is the information sent to me:

the information you submitted as part of your original Express Entry Profile will remain in your account for 60 days after the expiration date of this letter. To resubmit your Express Entry Profile, follow these steps:
1.Log into your account
2. Find your Express Entry Profile
3. Review and validate or update the information in your Express Entry submission
4. Submit the Profile

but only thing i can do in the profile is view submitted application.

Thanks

@ Teeboy95, you will need to create a new express entry profile. Note that you would have automatically gone back into the pool if you had rejected the ITA on or before the 90days deadline. Best wishes.

Hhnnmm, in my case, during my US travel last year, I had my entry marking on the current passport and the departure marking on the expired passport (don't know for the immigration guy sef ). This should require that I scan/upload both the current and expired passports so they can view the dates for both my entry and departure at the US airport. Right?

Not a problem. The USA and Canada have an information exchange agreement in place and can therefore get you travel information. Entry and exit dates for the USA can also be easily validated using the I94 database. See link below: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home

Sure! Especially if you applied from the USA. Document showing legal status in country of residence/ application should be uploaded.

I have another question oh. What of American green card holders? They are visa exempt from Canada too. As in they can go to Canada with their Nigerian passport and just their American green card and be allowed entry.

In this PR case, will they too be issued a visa on their Naija passport? Or treated like US passport holders?

I believe you will need to get your passport stamped. See attached.

So here goes.....
Don't have plenty story just that God did it
.... I mean He really did.
ITA- May 31( 414, second express entry profile first expired)
AOR- August 28(got it a few minutes after submitting documents)
Medicals passed- September 11( BG changes to NA later that day)
PPR - September 15( got email at 3.01am)
Family of 4.

Everything was not perfect , worried about everything but I prayed for less than 3 weeks processing and I got it.
This platform was helpful both to douse fears and also increase it. My advice...sometimes in the multitude of information worry might increase, God will perfect all in His time. I know I can't express what I went through and how much I needed this but trust me I did. Right now it feels like I am dreaming....well when the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion......

Thanks to everyone and good luck to all those waiting...... Good things come to those who wait....

Wow! Wow! shocked. 18days! Congratulations
