Gbawe: Not true. The cost od a modern modular rail network, for example, is very high. This is why even Lagos has not completed irs own model. The FG must assist states more in terms of critical infrastructure and one of the ways to do this would be to reform bloated federal governance so that more is made available dor States to spend on the socio-economic drvelopment of Nigeria. The determined governor can do it. Borrowing of billion of dollars and spent it judiciously is the way out. |

abdulwastecx: Kano will be able to generate more revenue if agro-allied industries industries, agriculture and more commerce can be encouraged. All these are down to investment in power, road, rail and dry port. Federal government need to provide most of of these infrastructures in the first place and kano govt need to invest wisely in human capital starting with the abolition of the almajiri system etc. Serious minded governor can provide all those with real determination. They should not wait for the federal government to do meaningful things with their lifes. Our problem in this country is that we lack determined leaders. Also apc governors (yoruba governors) are not interested in agriculture. On almajiris brothers you are right it is wicked system, while their leaders would be sending their children to the best universities abroad, the almajiris brothers are facing untold suffering. |

But I read sometimes ago that their present governor went to lagos with some of his officials to learn one thing or the other to boost their IGR. |
