Discipline has been an African culture for decades and must be imbibed amongst subjects, however extreme discipline might come back to hunt us as it is doing to us now.
Let me start with the Nigerian Army and its strict policies.

The Nigeria Army seems to be trigger happy when it comes to dismissal without weighing the consequences.
Blanket punishment often used by soldier is a situation whereby a group of soldiers are being punished for the wrong doing of 1.

I'm sure if you've have affiliate with the military, you'll know many cadets who has been dismissed, sometimes for the right reason while other times for the wrong reasons. Many attimes we've read in the news about criminal elements being dismissed soldiers or police.
