gallivant: All these random numbers you are throwing around wont dissipate the slum situation in your country. Acceptance is the first step to recovery.
Well you can keep living in your delusions while you suffer in terrible slums in Kenya.
rvp20182: Of course - you're more urbanized - than you should be - the infrastructure doesn't support it. South Africa is at 55-60% - and is a middle class country - with per capita 6000usd - and Ghana you have same urbanization - with gdp per capita not even 2000. China just got to 50% urbanization.
Now tell me what are 15M ghanian doing in urban areas? Practically nothing - except to hustle- they should be farming.
A town of 10,000 residence is huge - if it has the proper infrastructure - leave alone 67,000 - that you call a village.
Now your entire cities are just slums.
keep ranting
Kenya has been farming for 200 years now and it is still importing food to the tune of 20 billion dollars a year.
and giving excuses for why most kenyan towns and villages are slums without roads or water supply
Ghanaians are creating their own businesses around the boom in the residential real estate industry, tRADING AND DISTRIBUTION businesses making it hard for the Indians and Chinese to even grab a market share.
When Ghanaians decide to farm, it is centered around the growing number of Agro-processing factories which are making sure that the hard work of farmers dont go to waste.
15 MILLION urban GHANAIANS have created the greatest boom of a decade in local manufacturing and consumption. That is why Ghana import has reduced to 11 billion dollars.
rvp20182: Village of 67,000 people? Villages where I come from have anything less than 500 people.
A town of 67,000 people should be HUGE.
Next excuses for your underdevelopment and lack of infrastructure like roads, hospitals, schools, water supply, electricity, sanitation, drainages, quality housing even for the poor and etc in your communities
Those are the reasons why everywhere is a slum in Kenya.
rvp20182: 67,000 is a lot of people. Kericho has 27,000 residence. Your slumpolis are crammed. Now show us Akosombo dam Ghana will NEVER compare to kenya.
Why would any Ghanaian village want to compare itself to slums in Kenya?
We said no to roadless slums without water supply a long time ago.
rvp20182: Reduce empty words. Put the videos. Not even South African can match the beauty of Kericho.
I know in Nigeria and Ghana - find a estates that is well planned is so hard - but in kenya - every town has such many estates - pick any town - and you'll find proper zoning.
This is Kisumu - Milimani Estate. Don't call any CRAP - mansion
I posted a community of 67,000 people living in mansion and all you have to show is a small estate somewhere in the slums of kisumu with untarred roads ?
Let me give you more headaches of mansions from Akuse, a village of 7,000 people.
Its district has a population of 89,000 in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
This video brings to mind Kwahu Obo in the Eastern Region of Ghana where most of the richest people in Ghana comes from. A village/Town of 67,000 people living in mansions
rvp20182: Don't you get tired writing nonsense 24-7 - nonsense bereft of any thought. Is Seun paying you to generate filler content Is rat soup that great
nonsense from a Kenyan
All the noise you've been making, yet no kenyan community can even look as good as East Legon, Banana Island, cocody
rvp20182: When we got for building - you ran to water. When we get to water - you run to electricity - when we get to electricity - you run to housing shortage.
keep running your mouth
You will keep being behind Ghana in everything, if you dont start demanding for better from your country.
Why should you be subjected to desperate living conditions like that ?
rvp20182: Very small - 40km to 60km - are your crazy. Nairobi radius of 40km is almost completely built up. That is HUGE. The 60kms is starting to get filled up. That would make it 10,000Kms. That is nearly ten times Lagos city. 3 times the state
you are mad
Nairobi built up area is a small 20km with slums dotted all around the 2 km area of upper hill, westland and parkland or whatever their names are.
rvp20182: We are still waiting for video. Muthaiga has bad roads...maybe the main road where public taxis are allowed. Please note in Nairobi many estate public taxis are forbidenn.
Nairobi proper is too much for entire west africa - including banana island and victoria.
It nearly south africa level
As you find us drone footage of ghana...please take a look at westland for example....not even the best
rvp20182: I am desperately trying to help level the ground - 60ksm in any direction from Nairobi - no Ghana estate can compete. The Nairobi proper is giving South Africans headache.
Your cities dont even have water supply Yet you want to compare yourself to a rich Ghana that supplies every part of the majority of it cities and even villages with water.
68816419: Hmm , u totally leave in a different world from most Kenyans, do u even know that Nairobi alone has over 40 slums?. The same unhabitate u quoted have this to say "Existing figures are compelling evidence of the dire situation in many of Kenya’s urban centres. Depending on the city, 60 to 80 percent of Kenya’s urban population lives in slums characterised by lack of access to water and sanitation, adequate housing, and secure tenure, and where many experience acute security and health problems and are dependent on the informal sector for survival. For instance, in Nairobi, 60 percent of the population lives in slums that occupy only 5 percent of the total land area of the city. The growth of these slums is unprecedented, with the number of slum dwellers expected to double within the next 15 years. Only 22 percent of slum households in Nairobi has water connections, while 75 percent accesses water through water vendors who overcharge, making slum dwellers pay more for their water than people living in middle- or high-income areas. The provision of sanitary services is also inadequate and the use of open spaces and “flying toilets” is common. In places like Kibera, poor environmental sanitation leads to waterborne and vectorial diseases such as diarrhoea and malaria. Epidemics such as cholera and typhoid are occurring with greater frequency. This grim reality provides the persuasive justification for slum upgrading initiatives in the country aimed at improving living conditions"
This is really revealing
But I've know this all along .
Just within Nairobi city centre and 75% of the population dont have access to water
rvp20182: Way better than East Legon or anything in Nigeria outside say VI. That is the point. If you disagree bring a video evidence. Kitengela part - just need paved roads - your cities almost need Jesus christ.
East Legon has really given you a nightmare you haven't gotten over. You have roamed the entire internet just to find a place in Kenya that will be as good as East Legon and you've not found any.
rvp20182: Akosombo electricity company staff houses is all you can pride yourself. East Legon cannot compete with Kitengala.
Easy bring the best of east legon - and I give the best of Kitengela.
Akosombo is a beautiful area with very good roads
Your kitengela is a slum
I wont even dignify it to compare it to East Legon especially when Runda, Karen and the European settlement of muthiaga combine cant match up to East Legon.
Your first class neighbourhood of Muthiaga has terrible roads.
