rvp20182: Give us the best best video of East Legon. You're just ignorant. Nairobi - slums occupy 2 % of the land mass. Concrete Jungle follow - I'd say they occupy less than 10% - they are high rises and can take huge population.
Both slums and concrete jungles are near CBD/Industrial area/ High class residence - because they are walking distance to where they can find work or school. They provide labor for business district, industrial area and the upper class.
The suburbs - Nairobi middle and high class - they are outside - but within city radius - damn expensive - rundas/karen/ - they occupy huge part of Nairobi - Karen alone is so big.
Nairobi middle/upper class - low residence are huge....definitely more than 50% of Nairobi.
Nairobi metro (outside the city limits of 1960s) - these low residences (suburbs) - these are anything outside 20kms radius from Nairobi CBD - and extend to 60kms.
Heck even estates 50kms from Nairobi - in Nairobi metro are better than east legon.
Nairobi metro is huge - some part of it - peri-urban - and they are mostly low residence.
For example - Kiambu county - Nairobi metro - look
rvp20182: When we post little small areas of Nairobi that are not posh; you think you can compete Nairobi I keep telling you - again - and again - 2/3 of it - are out of rich of anything outside south africa. The high rises you see - is because of zoning laws. Otherwise if you check low rise of Nairobi - with world class buildings - it's HUGE. There is a reason why low class areas are crammed. It's zoning laws.
Yet no where in Nairobi looks as good as East Legon
No stop making noise and go and develop your country.
Ghana does not play catch up to countries already below it in everything.
Get back to KG and learn new things instead of repeating your backward view of development.
The fact that your baby dreamland has played catch up to Ghana in everything has made you so bitter that no country on the thread has been able to match up except SA.
wail all you want and your wailings wont make and underdeveloped place catch up to Ghana.
Goel: Egypt is an Arab state so far. And as for double decker buses etc., not even Egypt stands anywhere near India in terms of vehicle production. From buses to even common cars and bikes.
Once again, these things are a thing in Africa the way you guys are sharing pics of these things being in your country. In India, it isn't even significant despite being on world's top 5 in nearly all of major type of productions.
The problem is real. South Africa is populated by European and Indian immigrants who are far richer than their native counterparts and have control of most of wealth and innovation. Seychelles and Mauritius are Indian settlements and North African countries are Arabic settlements.
Africa isn't a thing in common thing in Indian minds in general. Entire African continent combined is incapable of even bothering India even once economically or militarily either.
Indians are more interested in Asia-pacific and North Atlantic geopolitics and to some extent in middle-eastern issues.
I'm a special case among Indians who visits this forum to see issues on which Nigerians, Kenyans and Ghanians fight.
Shaytun: And after all is said and done, 68816419, Kenya is truly as insignificant as i thought.
Could you believe that the Kenya port authority generated a measly $125m....and thats the highest it has ever generated till date, and they will keep goin on and on about the almighty Mombasa port.
$125m compared with Nigera $4 billion ....that's 32x more ,why are we still arguing with this guys?..lol they are not enough to rub shoulder with us , we are not even in the same league.
rvp20182: Your mental deficiency doesn't mean you don't have a brain..its just not functioning as it ought.Housing is basic need.Even a bird has nest.Every human being has some form of housing including slums. THAT HOUSING DEFICIT. YOU HAVE 2M HOUSEHOLD WITHOUT ELECTRICITY.That is 10m out of 30m Ghanaian..entire Rwanda. .You have maybe housing deficit of 25m..people living in rat infested hovels and lucky for you eating them. You have roads that look like moon surface..that is infrastructure deficit.
Justnotyou: Put on your glasses, 40sh man, that's not 70% Either way Kenya has a good PR system, of the countries here debating Kenya isn't doing that bad... I can take special requests for country to country comparisons.
whatever makes you sleep at night
I specifically said the urban population and you have brought a national figure.
rvp20182: Nairobi Muthaiga - unless you're Ghanian footballer - you cannot afford here. Muthaiga like most expensive areas of Nairobi - is a very old estate for the very best old money. The rundas and etc - are new money - new buildings. Those are affordable.
rvp20182: Housing deficit - doesn't mean there no houses - it's mean people are living in informal houses Okay Ghana has 30/5 - that is 6M. Metered is 4m. 2M household do not have electricity. Number of Ghanaian without electricity is 2M times 5 =10M. 10M out of 30m. Only 66 percent of Ghanians have electricity
okay i will pardon you poor understanding of the word deficit because of the substandard education you received in Kenya.
the terrible understanding of math and English you've displayed here makes you and idiot
deficit means it doesn't exist in simple term but should have.
so how will something that doesn't exist reduce Ghana electricity access rate?
idiot
trying to bring Ghana down to your degraded country level only exposes the underdevelopment of Kenya.
rvp20182: Nairobi Posh (not be confuse with Ghana's dusty porch) are old colonial estates - these ones you cannot afford unless you're a ghanian international footballer playing for Chelsea - the only people with good houses in Accra.
Spring Valley - is one such estate. Note - it's not like west africa - where one footballer has good house amidst poverty - in kenya - strict zones - nearly every house in area X - is similar to the next - in many things except personal taste - the price range is near the same.
Shma2020: I know Accra Ghana left right center, I don't need to go to Ghana to know what Ghana is. the pics alone from the internet rings slumbolish to the entire world.
The best of best part in Accra cannot compete with a tiny section in westlands, I gave some of those hobbits a clear picture of how their minnow village looks like.
For instance, this tiny section in westlands gives out a large pic of the entire overhyped Accra CBD... Looks tiny but more developed than Accra village, unfortunately, without this place in Accra then Accra is nothing but a qualified village intergrated with slums.
You live in a country where everyone lives in a slum and the quality of education is below standard
so your assertions usually are stupid
The best parts of Accra is a big area which no where in Kenya can compete with.
how about you develop you country to create great living spaces
rvp20182: Another part of Nairobi Eastland - Better than anything in Nigeria and Accra outside Victoria Island. This is kariobangi/Dandora....use to be the criminal center of Nairobi. But unlike South African sizzies - Kenya Police are killing machines.
rvp20182: You cannot even compete with little modagishu in kenya - Eastleigh smelly like Somali - way too much perfume. This somali capital of the world
since you want to be reasonable, lets be reasonable.
will you want to live in a good house or not?
popizaino: Pls don't quote me if you are not ready to be objective. This is 2021 and i am not ready to go back and front with you on a major topic that has been overflogged through out last year.Be sober and let's have a mature discussions and not saving face by lieing to yourself, while reality on ground hits differently. Accra is the Paris we thought we have but the Banjul we came to accept................Although,all hope is not lost if Ghanaians accept this as a fact and start doing the basic thing right. This is not limited to only Accra alone but other major areas of the country.
Don't let my point fly pass over your head before you attack me cus anyone who doesnt celebrate mediocrity with you is obviously hating.
Shma2020: Study this map yourself and stop crying.. Kenya black line is nearly halfway in the pie chart... Compared to other developed countries to Ghana like Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia and Tz, they have a huge section of people living in slums than Kenya.
So what was your point?
Wow Kenyan education really failed you Read the map key on the colour coding and come back with a sensible write up.
such stupidity
The map is basically representing 70% of Kenyan urban population as slum dwellers. while putting Ghana urban slum dwellers at 35%
