samorobo: .to me you guys are just decieving yourself with this metro tag...12km away from the city centre is called runda and you are saying this is 30km away from the city centre...in reality this is all nairobi city...all this forceful governmental zoning doest change shiit.....
mtisTheQubit: man please dont deny your country...thats ghana....so habitat confused ghana photo with uganda..then either ghana looks like UG or the guys are biased
Copied pic from Uganda you mean.
dont get confuse kid
Ghanaian villages are clustered and of compound nature.
mtisTheQubit: give us a break dude..no one buying ya lies..is ths not ghana...bythe way ther is alot of homelessness in your country, something not common in Kenya..almost every kenyan got a house somewhere...enjy Ghana
As usual
desperation will always makeyou to post a Ugandan pic as Ghana good luck while nursing your pain.
There is very little homelessness in Ghana
Not even up to 1000 people hence why it is not a problem.
Unlike Kenya with a huge 20,000 plus homeless people
Unfortunately, you cant upgrade yourself to Ghana's level where everyone can afford to own a home so kenyans will continue to live in deplorable shanties like pipeline, kiberia and the other shanties and shacks.
A country where citizens prosper will have more than 4% of it population owning homes.
That is why the whole world come to understudy your slums so they dont repeat your mistakes.
putting up some shack in rural kenya, is that what you want to call a home? Even that, only 4% of your population do
desperate human
rvp2018: If we lowered our standards like Ghana - and built shanty slumpolis - surely everyone will afford it. We are working on affordable housing scheme - 26B dollars committment to deliver 500,000 houses to be sold at 10-20k.
But we cannot lower our standards and allow everyone to build themselves a slum so we can improve ownership.
99% kenyans living in urban areas have rural homes. It's no biggie. It not like we have truly homeless people like most of west africans living for 5th generation in urban slums. Most kenyans are 1st or 2nd generation in urban areas.
rvp2018: There are properties in Nairobi metro for those who can't afford Nairobi to go and buy. For example these apartments cash is 30k usd. But if you think you can afford Westland, Upperhill, and heck nearly anywhere in Nairobi - land will cost you more than 1M dollars an acre.
rvp2018: Let me be clear, no SSA country outside Kenya and South Africa have REFINED PETROLEIUM PRODUCT pipeline. I am talking a line that takes petrol, diesel, kerosene, and Jet fuel. And maybe LPG.
Outside north Africa and West Africa, No country have gas pipelines running to feed industry. We have another gas pipeline running from the western region of Ghana to almost Kumasi.
It is far cheaper to transfer petroleum using other means than a pipeline.
rvp2018: Show me a refined product pipeline in Ghana. I am not talking about crude oil pipeline. Also don't show me N-GAS.
I guess you dont know that we have pipelines running our entire coastline Sending Gas from Gas processing facilities in western Ghana to Eastern Ghana in Tema
rvp2018: Muthaiga is definitely the most expensive residential estate in Nairobi. This 2 acres of land will cost you 2.5M dollars. Yes upper hill, westland and kilimani will go as high as 5m dollars per acre but that is because you're allowed to build highrises.
rvp2018: Kenya Pipelines - only 2nd to South Africa in SSA in refined product pipeline - Kisumu jetty at Lake Victoria. Once Lake Victoria get real oil tankers - Kenya will be able to export refined fuel to great lakes region easily.
Kisumu oil jetty.
Nigeria and Ghana despite all the petrol dollars cannot even hack a refined oil pipeline - and dangerous tankers sneak through Lagos traffic bursting into flames once in a while
I know you like to post things to do a little ego boasting for you guys because there is nothing going on in your country but seriously, do you want to compare your unproductive country to Ghana and Nigeria in pipelines for product transfer.
When Ghana and Nigeria started building pipelines for oil, your country was still too poor to build anything for itself.
My economy is still larger than yours so what does that make your country?
30 billion larger than your economy is the reason why more investors are pouring in more money here and creating jobs.
An insignificant economy is one that cant feed it people such that 5 million Kenyans are facing starvation as we speak. That is like all of the poor people in Ghana.
Should i ask the UN for another food aid for your people, because i will hate to see your rib cages being blasted on 24/7 international media.
gallivant: Too much effort for an insignificant African economy. There is nothing you can prove to Kenyans. Stop wasting your time on infantile tantrums.
rvp20182: The elephant is Ghana abandoned projects due to IMF. You're the guy who got sponsored by Wiki foundation for contributing nonsense on Wikipedia.
Except Wikipedia is a volunteering program. Giving back to humanity.
You know where else I've volunteered? Mercy Africa and the UN.
That is why i look at your country as one big shithole of food aid after food aid.
90% of my government project are completed your government cant even carry out projects because it doesn't have money. Year upon year it turn to China for loans that sell portions upon portions of your country.
rvp20182: 10B dollars - and you look as poor as Uganda.
Have you not checked the poverty index
Dont you realize your country is as poor as Uganda and that is why 96% of your country men cant afford to own a house in your country?
Isnt poverty part of the reasons why every year, Kenya face starvation?
We used our 10 billion annual mineral money to move our people out of poverty, provide them good schools and proper health care Proper road networks and transportation.
That is why our human development Index is far above yours.
Come to reality and you will realise how useless you guys are such that after years of food aid from China and UNICEF Your country cant still feed it people. Only war torn countries depend on food aid
rvp20182: Officially. Unofficially - Ghana gold that get sold in China, India, Dubai and Switzerland is another 8B dollars. And gold is not renewable. You're luckly that nature has blessed you with minerals - USE IT NOW or you'll forever regret.
At least South Africa made their count.
Ghana - you look worse than Uganda - despite 15B dollars worth of minerals officially - and maybe another 10B unofficially!
That is a lot of money that can transform your country.
Too bad, Ghana gold that is official sold in China, India, Dubai, Switzerland and everywhere else add up to 8 billion dollars per annum.
Officially and unofficially
Our total mineral export is 10 billion dollars
So which ever way you look at it, Your country kenya will still be at Uganda, Rwanda and Tz level which is too far below to be compared to us. Our none mineral export will still remain twice of yours.
rvp20182: We have been under IMF bailouts - for most of 90s - we were like Ghana. IMF first business when they come - with their bail out - their first business is to reduce gov expenditure - and that mean gov is immediately ordered to abandon project half way. Development budget is cut. Then they go for recurrent expenditure - freezing employment in public sector , salary cuts and even retrenchments. Then they go for privatization - selling of parastals that are spreading systemic risks or that are cash cow to raise finances.
Every IMF bailout is painful. It's bank receivership. They don't joke. You have had 16 painful IMF bailouts. It's traumatic.
boy Projects that stall here do stall for political reasons.
Anyway, most (90%) of our stalled have been completed.
