gallivant: Ghana has zero influence in this world. Maybe a poster child for fiscal incompetence...
Tell that to your finance ministry and your members of parliament on finance committee who had to come to Ghana to seek assistance from us for your debt freeze negotiation
popizaino: Omo you really got a tough skin....How will you continue conversation with someone who just labelled tea to be a natural resources just to save face? You are better off trolling that idiot that trying to have a sensible adult conversation with him 😂😂. We waiting for him to tell us Cocoa, oil palm, avocado are also be natural resources. We learn every day.
Lete educate you small because you don't know
Every farmed product is a natural resource... If you don't know, just consult google
There is invention, innovation, productivity, and sustainability in agriculture. Mining has only invention and pretty much sustainability. I didn't say that to imply we invented tea.
Again, there is human/man made forest & natural forest, Same goes to lakes. It doesn't dispute the fact that all the forests and lakes are by nature natural. Don't be a dunce.
Now, the bolded is where you lost it: You obtained a free Multi trillion valuable product with a paltry millions in production cost and a token of slave trade. That means if Ghana was mineral devoid like Kenya, it would be more or less like Niger or Togo, now you're slightly above them because brits &Chinese are helping you knowing very well you have what they don't - FREE GIFT!
You don't know something, you're being educated too, you are still making noise. Mining has both productivity, innovation in machinery and mechanism, invention of new machinery to solve new challenges, community sustainability models to ensure economic survivability.
Both minerals and tea are natural to the environment.
Are the trees also man made? Wan*ker
The cost of producting an ounce of gold is 2/3rd the price of an ounce of gold.... Add taxes and labour and producers are left with a few tens of million in profit. This is why most environmentalist call for a suspension in gold and other metals mining because the cost outweighs the benefits.
There's nothing like Brits and Chinese in mineral exploitation in Ghana.... There's Ghanaians and theres Australian, South African and Canadian.
Subsaharan: Lmao, Nigeria used the SDR option, because is was a low hanging fruit. There was just $3.35bn sitting in the IMF ready to go anytime we wanted it.
GeneralDae: Is Nigeria under an IMF program now? IMF programs normally take years to expire where IMF dictates terms and conditions. You are confusing a loan with a program.
GeneralDae: Nigeria like almost every other country only received COVID support from IMF in 2020. Is that thesame with being under an IMF program?
3.4 billion dollars as COVID support? You went for this program because your country was spending almost 100% of it revenue on debt servicing and that was a challenge
rvp2018: 300 sites times 300k usd is just 90M. That is spare change for Telcom company. They can be able to re-sell internet cheaply for say 30usd per month for just a million subscribers - that is 30M dollars. They will recoup their investment in 3 months.
600USD for Starlink will never scale. Unless crafty Nigerians buy repeaters and re-sell their bandwidth...but 60-100MB speed will degrade quickly.
So Starlink like other satellite before remain only practical in remote rural areas.
Countries must continue to invest in fiber. Kenya unlike west african zoo already has a million household/homes connected to fiber....and now we are putting 100,00kms of fiber. Telcom companies like Glo should invest in fiber...
Poor Ghana has 50,000 fiber connection/fixed broadband.
90 million is too much money spent to cover on just 20 million people while starlink satellite cost just 250,000 dollars per unit and the only need 2 or 3 of them at any given time to cover all of Nigeria's 250 million people.
Starlink in more cost effective to propagate network than say glo, having to put up close to 50 thousand cell sites to be able to cover all of Nigeria at almost double the cost.
On the personal level, Starlink portable receiver is going for 600 dollars which is more than 1,200 times more expensive than the normal routers available to all Nigerians there by making it highly unaccessible to the majority of Nigerians who will like to have their quality internet service. Also, starlink monthly data subscription fee is a lot higher than what Nigerians are used to from glo. Further making it unaccessible.
Poor Kenya should focus on feeding and providing water to Kenyans than allow them waste their little money on connecting fibre to their houses which they won't use.
This was not a comparison between countries... It was a comparison between service providers..
rvp2018: That is nothing compared to -> Nigerians will pay $600 to acquire the setup hardware and a monthly subscription of $43 which didn't sit well in the sight of many.
Glo can invest 300 * 400K to cover 20 million Nigeria.
If each one got Starlink - it would be billion of dollars
You just bugged in to type nonsense.... Do you even know the conversation we are having ?
Take your time to read to understand.
If glo had the money to provide the needed cell sites and other ground infrastructure to have quality internet service provision, they would have done it already but they don't because cell sites are very expensive to build. And this hasn't taken into consideration the fibre cuts experienced on the daily basis due to road construction and stuff.
Then we come to Starlink, the cost of owning a receiver is very high plus the monthly charges will be far above what Nigerians are used to. This is the discussion we are having .... Seek understanding before posting nonsense
theenchanter: It actually depends on who has a better service with regard for cost, of cos. If starlink gives better service, they'll surely get their own fraction of customers.
And let's not forget that it'll make other service provider better cos of competition.
It would not necessarily make other service providers better... Starlink just need to put a few satellites in orbit to be able to cover all of Nigeria meanwhile service providers like glo needs to put in close to 300 cell sites to be able to cover only Lagos and each cell site cost 300,000 to 400,000 dollars ( the cost of a cell site in Ghana)
Luzebox: Far and wide... ...i guess only in IMF matters...your president had to report to his masters to help with his problems with burkina-faso..u have no influence in west-africa ,africa or the world...
Both Burkina Faso, Togo, Ivory Coast and Mali all sort Ghana's intervention in their political crisis. Ghana is more influential in Africa than your country... Evidence lies in the voting block of the AU that both countries lead.
When I say far and wide, I mean from Asia to the Americas In Africa and into Europe
Madcow. We all agree Nigeria is not there yet,so post the better ones from Ghana let see. This is not Kenyan that you ridicule anything they post while you can't post the supposed better one in Ghana. You have been exposed to be stupid from time to time. Post the better ones from Ghana or STFU.
Meanwhile, everyone keep calling Ghana a village even your own country man.
Mad boy ....
Ghanaians on the platform don't have time for both Kenyans and Nigerians to even ridicule what they post.... You two are the ones with that obsession all because both of your countries fall short on all things developmental when you try to compare with Ghana.
I thought you stupid fool said you were mature enough to have mature conversation 😂😂 Now you're here being all emotional because oshodi has become a garbage dump site... Hold your emotions in for there is a reason why no Ghanaian ever compare Ghana to a dumpster like Nigeria or the other backward country Kenya. Your two countries are big villages.
When ever a Ghanaian thinks about where Ghana should be, they think about western Europe and compared to that standard, Ghana is a village. No sane Ghanaian will ever compare Ghana to dumpsters like Kenya and Nigeria which are far below Ghana in all endeavours.
Bonesbreaker: Imagine Ghana comparing its self with Nigeria😂🤣😂😂 chia i done suffer na yorubas the cause all this insults here Niger State is even beautiful than Ghana talk more of a major state in Nigeria but wait on this was Kenya against Nigeria waiting carry our jealous brothers Ghana here everytime them always trying to Compare us with them.🙄😏
Why will Ghana compare herself to two countries backward and behind her in most things
vankelvin: The day that guy claimed to know Ghana very well just because he was able to identify Kumasi and Tema pictures I knew that guy was a real b3l3 . 😂
I have often said that number one rule on any public platform on the internet is never to have sensible debate with Ghanaians about Ghana since they are emotional bunch who equate foolishness with patriotism. Troll them, mock them, irk them, that is the only language they understand.
have you ever had a sensible debate on this forum ?
😂🤣
Youve never ever thought deeply to ever make an argument on this forum but to pass foolish comment here and there.
Your typical comments goes like this.... You go to Europe during winter and you start posting around asking why there are no greens.... Stupid, it's a fuvkin winter 😂🤣
Maybe I'm the one with an eye problem... Does anyone see dust in any part of the video , even though the video was taken in the thick of harmattan and the dry season where everything is supposed to be dry.
You'll only find dust in Accra outskirts or construction areas
As usual, always arguing in the abstract .. straw man argument
