gallivant: Cocoa didn't save you from 16 IMF bailouts. Don't you wish you grew tea and flowers instead? our bailouts are for political reason than economic ones. hence we will go to the IMF for a thousand more time. that is why our economy is more valuable than yours. (PPP) that is why our country is more wealthy than yours (GDP per cap) |

Kazikazi: So funny. You are just looking at operating costs of nuclear. But when you do a levellised costs of electricity between Gas vs coal vs hydro vs wind vs solar, you will realize nuclear isn't 15 times cheaper.Otherwise, just prove it here.
Again, costs are varying between nations.E.g,in US, nuclear is more expensive than gas. You can't just make a blanket statement about nuclear costs for all nations.Emissions tax vary, operating costs between nations vary, price of fossils vary between nations.. But here you are shouting loud, " nuclear is 15 times cheaper than Gas" Madness your argument is useless nuclear energy is cheaper in the US than gas fired plants Dont engage is useless arguments. the cost of a kwh electricty from gas plants ranges from 1.5 to even 3 cent whiles nuclear is range from0.1 to 0.5 cent which one is cheaper among the two. gas fired plants are unreliable since they are mostly offline for maintenance |

Maintenance is cheaper than gas Power produced by a nuclear power plant is 15 times cheaper than gas-fired plants |

Kazikazi: And how much will they pay to protect them from malfunction of nuclear plants in cases of earthquake like that which destroyed a nuclear plant in Japan? How much is that insurance cover? When u consider all factors including how prepared are African nations in issues of nuclear malfunctions, u will realize nuclear is expensive for an African man Insurance takes care of the cost the very fact that nuclear is 15 times cheaper for the ordinary citizen to afford makes your argument bogos. just don't repeat it anywhere else. How much do you think it cost when gas thermal plants goes Kaboom and create power surges everywhere even without earthquakes? |

And we still purchase more.we are not having stuff on paper, but on ground and running who else buys planes and not pay cash? i can tell you how much your 11 planes will cost when you bring their specs here But we both know this argument is not needed because TZ air is bankrupt hence can buy planes |

Kazikazi: Am very informed.Tanzania have done research on all those power sources and we conluded that gas and hydro suits us very well.We have Tanzania atomic commission which was established way way way back before Ghana's atomic energy commission but we don't shout about it.We have tonnes and tonnes of uraniums but we decided to develop our gas and hydro first. We have tonnes and tonnes of coals, but we didn't rush into coal power plants. We have geothermal, but we didn't rush into it. Our first priority is gas and hydro.Nuclear may be later on for back up. You cannot develop Nuclear energy because you dont have the technical know how period |

Shma: You are the one who is sick. Am talking of country's wealth in general, not the living standard. So who said GDP is used to ascertain the welfare of country citizens kindly tell us how a countries wealth is measured? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Just30: 9:38pm On Nov 30, 2019 |
Shma: You always base your logics on HDI and GDP per capita forgetting that GDP per capita is only a determining factor of inflation rate and maybe comparing the living standards between nations, but nominal GDP is more useful when comparing national economies including wealth of a country on international level. Are we not ahead of you in nominal GDP? Anyway They didn't use GDP alone, They also based it on other indices that measure country's economy which I believe only few countries in Africa can challenge Kenya, , you got stats so no need of breaking it down for you, you can do it by yourself. Finally, pictures speaks volume. To conclude, Kenya is the fifth richest country in Africa After South Africa, Morocco, Egypt and Nigeria. OKay shut up you dont even know economics why whould anyone in his right sense use nominal gdp to compare countries ? there is a reason why PPP was introduced. secondly, no one uses individual wealth to compare countries |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Kenya Is Ahead of Nigeria In All Aspect (Facts Don't Lie) by Just30: 9:34pm On Nov 30, 2019 |
Kazikazi: You just argue! You can choose nuclear because of prestige. But in manufacturing, nuclear power is expensive. Your products will be so expensive.Yes,nuclear is reliable so as gas.But costwise especially for an African country, nuclear is way too high. Hydro is cheaper, but isn't reliable in case of droughts. So in engineering point of view, for an African country to compete with India,China and others, you need to use either gas or hydro.Nuclear no,may be just for standby stop talking about things you have no knowledge of After Hydro, Coal and nuclear are the cheapest form of energy. Gas thermal units are never reliable the scheduled maintenance period are long. Nuclear is way more cheaper for any African country to choose it. why should Africans be paying between 1.3 - 2.5 cent per KWH for gas thermal electricity when they can pay 0.1 cent per kwh for nuclear energy? |

Kazikazi: You are partly true.Hydo in most cases is cheaper than gas. But gas is more reliable than hydro. Gas is more cheaper than nuclear or diesel or wind power Gas is more cleaner than nuclear, coal or dieasel.
So,all in all,gas is very suitable to run factories because of reliability and of course it is somehow cheaper kid youre crazy Nuclear energy is 15 times cheaper than Gas thermal energy. Nuclear energy is cleaner than gas thermal |

Kazikazi: Your problem is you are addicted to stuff written on paper but not a real stuff on ground! FYI, not everything will be paid by TZ gov.We will do PPP in some phases like Mtwara to mbamba bay line will be done with private companies. Why are u so shocked of 14billions? Do u know how many jets have we bought cash in recent years? We paid cash for 11 planes, and we are still purchasing.Have u done the same with your economy on paper? the biggest planes cost 270 million dollars aint nothing if you've bought 11 of them you've still dont nothing |

Ghana has to move away from thermal power - esp those that don't use natural gas

Acadavah: It doesn't cost 14usd bill. The first phase of 300km which will be completed in early months of next year cost 1.2 usd bill, the second phase of 426 km cost 1.46usd bill. The remaining phases are 435 km, 220km and 371km cost 942Usd million from from place called Isaka to Kigali Rwanda which World Bank has expressed its willingness to fund it. we all know you will have to meet certain economic conditionalities to be able to access World bank funds. One of then is your level of production. your economy will not be able to support that project beyond the initial 2.5 billion dollars mere facts |

The 725km is the only one you will because able to do That is what your economy can support. even in the next 20 years, your economy will not be able to support a 14 billion dollars on a single project. You will have to be more productive to be able to spend that amount on a railroad Acadavah: Now 726 km are in construction for 2.5 Usd billion and the total project is 1457km, the government has a railway budget of 7.5 usd billion for 5 years completion timeline not 14usd billion. |
