I know facts is alien to you coming from a backwater but just note there are at least 25,000 foreign registered companies in Kenya - and nearly half a million registered companies. Those are formal sector.

For example - Kenya has largest co-operative movement in Africa and 7th biggest in the world.

Remove minerals in Ghana and IMF - what do you have?
