https://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/features/2017/04/deal-kibera-flying-toilets-170403111700090.htmlhttps://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2014/05/the-toilet-malls-of-nairobi/370799/About 6.5 million of Kenya’s 45.5 million people live in urban informal settlements. The population living in these settlements increased by more than three times, from 1.5 million to more than 6.4 million between 1990 and 2014 and is still expected to keep growing. This will exacerbate the challenges women face when it comes to sanitation. We collected data in two phases between 2015 and 2017. During the first phase we partnered with representatives from the University of Nairobi and female residents from Mathare to conduct in-depth case studies with 55 women living in Mathare. In the second phase we worked with female residents in Mathare to carry out 550 household-level surveys with women. We found that, about 40% of women relied on public toilets for some of their sanitation needs during the day, but are unable to rely solely on these toilets. Within 24 hours, 75% of women relied on plastic bags or buckets at least once for their ablutions. They then dispose of these in open drains or rivers near their homes. gallivant: Deflection. 40% of Takoradi citizens have no toilets while Nigeria is the open defecation capital of the world. Facts. |

Mkenya2019: Precisely. When cornered the Ghanians become really vulgar and abusive. But they should learn from Nigerians. We will only be SWAYED BY FACTS. Spewing cheap insults, ad hominem & other crude tactics will not distract us from completely debunking the IMF colony. whiles you become a slave to Qatar china and the rest of your lords the facts have exposed you. you will never reach the level of development in Ghana and Nigeria especially when 70% of your populace are villages. this simple fact is the reason why you consume less cement have a low per capita low hdi low standard of living no electricity (when your electricity is shared, each kenyan will get 2Kw) that shit cant even power a single bulb |

funny thing is Sex for grade is happening in Kenyan universities as we speak at least, the investigation has forced all Ghanaian universities to strengthen their codes of ethics and provide more room for the problem to be solved. Jonraid: That's great then.Meanwhile, how's the sex for grades scandal going for both of you? |

Kenya collected 15 billion in 2018 Ghana collected 12 billion in 2018 you are still underperforming for a 53 million populace Mkenya2019: One wishes you were talking the truth. Ghana ordinary revenues are not even 8B dollars. KRA collectes 16B - and when all revenues are added up - 20B dollars. |

Mkenya2019: What do 50% of Ghanians who live in urban areas produce - informal economy? The 70% of kenyans living in rural areas at least produce their own food for starters. You don't see millions of them going to beg in NIgeria and all over the world. check the industrial scale of Ghana Check the service sector |

The asset-based approach uses the value of assets to calculate a business entity valuation. In its most basic form, the asset-based value is equivalent to the company's book value or shareholders' equity. The calculation is generated by subtracting liabilities from assets ECG was never being sold ECG metering and other business is what was being offered for concession. the liability of ECG stands at 1.5 billion dollars which is owed to VRA and IPPs. that debt is owed to ECG by the government of Ghana A billion dollars of that debt has been cleared and Government has gone ahead to remove most of it schools from the national grid to protect ECG. this is the reason why we have decided not to offer any part of ECG for concession. By the first quarter of next year, ECG will be listed on the stock exchange. I dont think SGR can ever be listed on the stock exchange of Kenya untill it finish paying it debt to China Mkenya2019: It's obvious this kind of stuff is really BEYOND your paygrade. I did not ask for ECG's ASSETS VALUE. I asked for a COMPANY VALUATION BY KPMG.
Yes you have may have 3B dollars worth of assets - but did you check the liabilities you have. The reason why in 2014 ECG was being concessioned away to Filipinos's (Manila Electricity Company) was because it was technical in the red. The US were even willing to give you 450M dollars AID.
A company cannot be valued by looking at it's assets alone You need to look at it's liabilities. And whatever remains is Equity or Capital.
Basic accounting equation Assets - Liabilities = (Shareholders' or Owners' Equity) .
The EQUITY IS WHAT YOULL SELL WHEN YOU LIST. And I am telling you for FREE - ECG has made losses every year bar 2016 - the last 5yrs - has lots of debts - and would be luckly to be valued at 5M dollars.
As for SGR - we had expected a slow start like any business- as SGR dealt with the teething problem. You know we began building the railway in 2014 and by 2017 were transporting millions of customers. And because we had expected slow start - we got 5yr grace period for commercial loan - and 10yrs grace period for the concessionary loan.
Now FACT 1) CARGO as of June 2019 - was at about double the rate of 2018 2) Cargo tarrifi is about double - so even at half year - SGR has earned double last year.
There is a REASON WHY GHANA HAS HAD 16 IMF BAILOUTS while Kenya has barely had any IMF BAILOUT. Countries that have received IMF bailout include likes of Tanzania, Zambia and such backwater countries. |

Mkenya2019: Rwanda has probably the highest population density in Africa and yet is largely rural (80% rural). There are few countries as messed up as Nigeria where people abandon farms - and go to towns to hustle - or well immigrate thro the Sahara. Kenya urbanization is where it's supposed to be for it's level of development. Our urbanization is growing at 4% rate....so I expect we are about 30%....and possibly by 2030 when we become a middle class economy...we will be at 50% economy.
The reason why Ghana and Nigeria are economically sick - is because of unbridled urbanization...where millions live in shanties calling themselves urban areas...instead of farming.
You know China for example just got 50% urbanization recently? so all the 80% of Kenyans who live in the villages and as you claim farming, what do they produce? Just the 3 million Ghanaians who live in rural areas just produce more than what the 30 million Kenyans produce |
