When it comes to the card-based transactions - Kenya does nearly 15 times Ghana. 0.9billion versus 13 billion. And this despite card transaction falling sharply in kenya (2013 - was like 15B) - while card transaction are rising like 30-50% annually in Ghana. You have a long way.
you are making too much noise

when cheques in Ghana is doing 40 billion dollars and mobile money is doing 45 billion dollars

all the cards in Ghana are doing 10 billion dollars

Ghana like Nigeria has integrated slums - the town is slummish - there is no clear divide btw slums and non-slums. There is a lack of urban planning.
The is proper urban planning in Ghana
In Ghana, slums are usually the first established part of the city or two

so they are very small and have just few people.

every vibrant economy has a boom of shopping malls why is ghana different from the rest of the world

kazikazi was right
Ghana already has an established form of shopping
and that form of shopping was established to suit the Ghanaian preference for convenience.

I dont need to walk to a mall to get good restaurants or find groceries or any other thing

Most of Accra is poorly planned even from Google maps. Just because you force yourselves to believe 2.5 million people live in Kibera doesn't make it true.
if we are talking about planning

kiddo then Accra is better planned than Nairobi

What Accra doesnt have is strict enforcement of zoning laws

The blog quote Bank of Ghana - your central banker- and I went ahead and got this for you. Read it below this text. Your primitive cash-based informal economy cannot EVER HOLD A CANDLE TO KENYA. 15M dollars worth of card-based transactions - compared to 13 BILLION dollars in Kenya.
https://www.bog.gov.gh/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Payment-Systems-Annual-Report-2018-Final-Version_PUBLICATION.pdf
so total transactions Value of cards in Kenya is 13 billion dollars ? grin grin grin grin grin

Actually all the card-based credit & debit transactions in Ghana are probably done by foreigners in their airport. They do a measily 15M dollars worth of transaction annually. It a very primitve cash based informal economy (now mobile money is helping them so much). These Ghanians probably never seen a card swiping machine if they have never stepped into airport or ATM.

Kenya does 13 BILLION DOLLARS worth of card-based transactions. That is like 1,0000 times what Ghana does.
something is wrong with you
In 2017, the volume of total transactions processed on all GhIPSS platforms reached 25 million.

This translated into a value of 208 billion cedis; up from the 174 billion cedis recorded in the preceding year

The value of transactions carried out on mobile money platforms for 2018 reached ¢233 billion.

This was contained in the Bank of Ghana’s (BoG) latest statistics covering electronic payments from 2018.

Guys, don't waste time with the confirmed zoo - Nigeria which is the world poverty capital. Let us try understand Ghana..it better use of our time. We have completely debunked and unraveled Nigeria in 5,000 pages plus.

I am back for a few hours - so as we try to debunk the lies that Ghana is progressive nation-we now know it's an IMF colony that despite being literally named Gold coast - has gone belly up 16 times - latest about 3yrs ago - I remember a story my boss once told me about Ghana.

He had joined US PeaceCorps and was assigned a mission to Ghana. He said as soon as they got to Ghana - USAID would organize a tour of massive ABANDONED projects littering the country. Ghana he told me looks like a wasteland of abandoned projects. You'd find half-completed buildings - or completed buildings with overgrown vegetation.

Now I understand Ghana, like a drunken sailor, whenever commodities prices are high (Gold, Diamond, Cocoa, Aluminum, Bauxite, Oil & Gas ) Ghana goes into massive public expenditure and borrowing, and a few years later the prices drop, the country literally goes broke, hyperinflation sets in, and IMF comes calling with AUSTERITY MEASURES.

Projects are abandoned mid-way, civil servants are fired, the usual tightening of the belt. Then commodity prices rise again, Ghana rises like a Phoenix again, starts over-spending & over-leveraging (borrowing), and soon it's back to ICU.

This is they have done a record 16 times.

Conclusion. Ghana is a primitive undeveloped economy led by morons. You can re-phrase to Ghana is an Informal economy led by political neanderthals.

Now that commodities are doing good - they are even thinking of borrowing 50B dollars smiley - and when prices drop (and they do) - the country will sink - hyperinflation - will send Ghanians scampering out of the country like Zimbwabweans.
this your rant is funny
grin grin grin grin

Despite electricity being discovered in the 19th century or so,

Up till not, 70% of your population do not have electricity.

yet you are online comparing yourself to a country that has managed to provide access to 90% of it people.

I can only imagine how primitive entire Kenya is after 60 years of self rule.

To have 40% of your people extremely poor shows how much you have failed as a country.

Kazikazi:
Don't confuse stuff.European cities were built ages back, while Asian cities are newly built due to economic boom towards the end of last century.Nowadays, most European nations has fewer birth rate, the need for more offices and skyscrapers is not there. In days of European economic boom, they built many stuff which were suitable and cool in those olden days. There is no economic boom without a surge of real estate activities.

Look at the pic of London below. The pic is snapped from wharf area in London.Have u seen the type of office they have? Does it look as a poor man's workplace? Look at the ceiling, look at the neighborhood, does it look poor? That is what we mean by middle class offices and neighborhood. But yet,London don't have many skyscrapers like Asian cities, but still,London don't look poor! And yes it is not.

Back to Ghana..
You lack skyscrapers. You lack well to do neighborhood. You lack real estate growth which resembles your economic boom. Yet,you claim to have an economic boom. Why should we believe u? Why is it only u who has economic boom but no upsurge in real estate?Where is your cement consumptions going?
The fact still remains that Almost all European countries hate the idea of People building skyscrappers in their neighbourhoods and that is why there are very few skyscrapers in most of Europes cities

It doesnt still take away the fact that European countries still have great office spaces

Back to Kenya
Putting up buildings does not make you developed

Ok

Personally i don't like online shopping, i prefer traditional shopping experience. I mean whenwhen those malls close in france it results in loss of investment.

A single mall can employ 2000 people, if those shops closes an online outlet cannot consume all those who lost their jobs.

Even thou the space can be turned into office space it won't be the same.
as much as your assertions are true,

it almost means that,, retailing will move from corporate entities to ordinary people
