Honestly, I don't think most Ghanaians can afford bread-and-milk, it was already hard enough in March when the inflation levels weren't as catastrophic as today. good luck to your projection A Ghanaian is getting more with his money while a Kenyan can only afford half of it. |

rvp2018: I expect most of export to soon dry up as cost of doing business become impossible. Ask Sri Lanka or Lebanon.
In Lebanon the presidency is now vacant - nobody want it - you can go there and grow their economy and export value
By march next year - the Ghana current gov would have been run out of town - and military maybe running string to avoid riots and laweslness Fortunately... Our export is increasing at a greater percentage as we keep attracting large amount of FDI.. Most of the new factories established recently have already started exporting ... In 3 years, our export will be hitting 30 billion dollars and our import is expected to from by 2 billion. Nice dreams Your dreams are just like the realities facing Ruto.. he is now reneging on all his pledge to your hustler economy No more free lunch like he promised. He is already giving the port to China I pray kenya come out of the debt crisis which we all know will take 10 years sooner because the rate at which it has driven Kenya into deep stagnation with no govt spending is insane and a disaster because the Kenyan govt is the largest spender in the Kenyan economy. |

rvp2018: Of 7B - how much does it trickle down - and how much do Ashanti Gold keep in South Africa and New York. Trickle down is failed economics. It doesnt work. Your gov get royalties and have to distribute it back effeciently What works is those 12B bikes - are made by army of Veitnames workers - transports - logistis - even the hotels cooking for workers. 95% of all mineral export receipt are retained in Ghana... Infact all mining firms at the moment have been pumping more money into development than they are currently making. If trickle down wasn't working like Australia, Brazil and Mexicao will still be poor today but because it work, so many of their citizens have been lifted out of poverty.. There are 40,000mine workers in Ghana and their activities support the livelihood of 4.5 million Ghanaians.... There are less than 10,000 bicycle factory workers. Trickle down economics has failed in Kenya because Kenya has focused of fake data reporting and fraud rather than sound economics... There's no reason why you should grown at more than 5% for 10 years without an explosion in the size of your middle class or a significant reduction in poverty. |

rvp2018: Export are important but more important is what you're exporting. Veitnam export bikes of 12B dollars - it more valuable than your gold. Understand the economic multiplier - and why countries focus on industries - tradiitonal manufacturing and now industries without smokes yes because 12 billion is greater than our 7 billion fold export. I just explained what trickle down economy is to you ... It is reflective of why unemployment is higher in Kenya than in Ghana. It is also reflective of why the middle class in Ghana is larger than in Kenya and it is also reflective of why poverty is higher in Kenya than in Ghana. When you have a trickle down economics growth, all those above listed are affected positively |

rvp2018: KShs was said to be over-valued way back in 2019 I think - because it had stubborn stuck at 85-100. CEDIS has depricated now to 157% - and there is no end in sight. IMF deal unlikely until march earliest. By then your economy will be dead like Sri Lanka. What will stop the panic now? Who will restore confidence in CEDIS? Now that IMF will take time. Compare to the kshs... The cedi has more confidence Evidence is in the capital flight from or to both countries... No one has confidence in your kshs hence the 6.5 billion dollars capital flight from kenya Also, Ghana is in no rush for an IMF program.... In fact we are the one not ready to send an intent letter to engage the fund. Next joke |

rvp2018: Exporting gold has zero multiplier. You can export 10B dollars worth of gold - only Anglo Ashanti & your naive gov will feel some impact. Exporting 500M worth of apparel like we do to US...huge multiplier. We have to engage 100,000 people to stich those apparels and export to US. That is difference Exporting horticultural goods - huge multiplier - these are so called industries without smoke because of the value chain. Our 7 Billion of export has a MULTIPLIER close to 10. That turns 7 Billion to 70B. Your exporting raw extracted mineral...multiplier is almost 1-2 - zero impact. Apart from Cocoa beans - which you need to improve on. keep making up shit in your head... Your economy has no positive effect on Kenyans, hence the increasing unemployment in Kenya and a lesser share of the middle class.... If your economy had a trickle down effect, like Ghana has, Kenya middle class will not be a mere 13% of population but around 50% like GHANA. |

rvp2018: Dont parrot things you dont know. You export nothing to the region - apart from electricity to Burkina faso. You top 10 export countries none is in West Africa. Kenya is different and almost unique because we trade 50% within Africa. Our biggest export destinations are our neighbeours - TZ/Uganda/etc It's in our interest to have weaker Kshs than them. But Ghana - weaken cedis with your large import - and zero export to the region? You just keep posting thrash... Ghana is the 80th or so export country in the world... Where is Kenya...? East African countries are not export oriented... Explain how 11 billion dollars import is larger than 22 billion export. Are you drunk? Ghana 2 billion export to it neighbors is almost half of Kenya goods export. |

rvp2018: I wish you can concentrate on the sick Cedis - because kenya and it's macro-economics are just pretty impressive. Currency, Inflation, Interest, name it are single digit. We only have problem with debt to gdp but it still below 70.
When it come to Kshs - CBK job has been to ensure stability of currency - if it to depreciate - it does so slowly - because you want to avoid Ghana like panic now. CBK use to intervene to buy and sell forex whenever there was problem on the commercial forex market. Now it has allowed KSH to depreciate to 120 - which was the goal - and it's been done gradually - 1shs every month almost the last two years. IMF wanted it done "immediately" and CBK disagree - and they said ohoo KSH is managed - not free floating.
Now explain to us why CEDIS has dropped - and dont hide behind other countries - because CEDIS as we speak is 150% down - and world worst currency - and all other indicators are screaming murder.
Kenya is doing great. Ghana is in a midst of big crisis. Dont project. cedi goods has to be competitive in west Africa hence we can't keep having a highly valuable currency in the mist who can't afford ours, even in the mist of all the production advantages we have. Which means allowing the cedi to fall so we can get favorable market condition... Reason for cedi fall is because BOG intentionally took out lots of forex from the market as an intentional policy decision. Today Ghana export is 22 billion, that is going to hit 30 billion dollars by 2025.... Kenya is in the neck of a debt/financial crisis |

More austerity pain coming in for Kenya.. IMF is recommending an increase in electricity prices, fuel prices, taxes, halfing in health, education and others spending.
With Kenya failing to pay another 700million dollars in debt making it a total of 1.4 billion dollars of debt carry forward...
Kenya has finally caved to IMF recommendations of handing over KEnya Port to China as a way to be able to pay some of it debts. Also going to be handed over are, Kenya power, Kenya pipeline, Kenya airways and etc.

86.6% of Kenyans are poor if we use the new world bank data on what it takes to be considered a middle class person which is based on a spending of 5.65 dollars a day.
To be above middle class, you have to have a spending of 10 dollars and at this rate, 95% of Kenyans are poor.
You can check same for Ghana and you'll see why your economy hasn't transformed lives..
At those same rates Ghana has 50% of her population in middle class and at upper class, Ghana has 22% of her population.
It is bad for Kenya to only have 13% of her population in the middle class.. |

The rate is on a downward trajectory. By early next year, we will be approaching 8%--- towards 7%. why are you buying 5kg of rice at 10 dollars?
