If you've been living with them for some years, it is very possible that she still sees you as that 'little boy' with no harm intended. However, if you are not comfortable with it, there are ways you could ignore her call, or approach her politely. (to the pure, all things are pure) |
Please, What is our dear Safe School Initiative Safe School Initiative Safe School Initiative Safe School Initiative Safe School Initiative Safe School Initiative Safe School Initiative ..doing about these gruesome school attacks !?!?? I thought they were commissioned and have received enough funding to tackle things like this? Sadly, aside the fact that children in Northern Nigeria constitutes a huge percentage of the total statistics of out of school children in Nigeria (about 9million), the FEW that have decided to go to school have suffered worse calamity...#Which way Nigeria? |
Appliedmaths:It would have been okay to let the children trade freely on the streets IF there are no high risks involved, especially for those who run after moving vehicles on expressway. It's damn too risky. And, that was why I shared the link above..www.rsnnigeria..com/2014/11/boys-on-street_8.html?m=1 Do you know how many of them get knocked down on expressways on daily basis? Maybe you should do some research work on that, too. It's quite okay if children trade on less busy road, and not expressways. This is a NO-NO for me. Kindly read up the short reflection on that link, pls. Thanks. |
Interesting topic. While child labour is illegal, and frowned at, sometimes you just can't help but patronise these children because patronising them is as good as supporting them and putting food on their table. Poverty is the root cause. Sadly, not all of them really want to do this, but they don't have an option. Consequently, they are 'bread-winners' in their respective homes. Someone shared her opinion here too: www.rsnnigeria..nl/2014/11/boys-on-street_8.html?m=1 |
She 'speaks' so graciously. SideNote: Doing God's will is not without some resistance. God still speaks in clear terms...regardless. |
It looks real. I was going to confirm from a friend who works there, until I saw her name in the letter. Best wishes, you! |
" Ifeanyi Sunday wrote: "Politically the Igbo's are the most confused and the most foolish people in Nigeria. They never like any of their person to mention or make an attempt to occupy Aso-Rock. This inferiority complex tribe were I come from, in2nd the republic voted against Nnamdi Azikiwe in favor of Shehu Shagari. in 2003 they voted against Ikemba Ojukwu in favor of OBJ. Again in2007 they voted against Ikemba Ojukwu & OrjiKanu in favor of Yar'Adua. Today Owelle Rochas Okorocha has understood his people very well, that is why he never declare his presidential intention inIgbo land because he knew even if APC hands over the presidential ticket to him GEJ will still defeat him in Igbo land. That is why he is trying to build his political stronghold in the north. From history since 1960 Ndi- Igbo has supported every government in power. They have never opposed any Government before in their life that is why the entire nation don't take them serious for anything.Today they are insulting Owelle Rochas just because he refuse:d to be a slave to GEJ just like Peter Obi & co who sold AGPA to PDP. In OBJ era this same Ndi-Igbo was insulting & abusing OrjiKalu just because he was opposed to OBJ. Today the Igbo's on a daily basis abuse & insult their first class sister Dr.Obiageli Ezekwesili just because she is leading a protest against the failed GEJ's govt who refused to rescue the Chibok little girls andthis same Ndi-igbo on daily basis praise andworship ignorant Mrs.GEJ who can never recognize her right from left. It wouldn't be a bad idea if we all observe some minutes of prayers for DJDOLA while we await feedback from his brother/visiting NL member. And, maybe we should not be quick to blame him nor his family members yet for choosing to go to the clinic centre in Oyo state, because some posts of his, above show how much he incessantly sought our opinion in this regard. He kept asking for our opinion until his family resorted to this... We have tried our best, we wish him well and would keep believing God to heal him wholly. It's a difficult moment for all of us, really. still can't get my attention off his case since I stumbled across this thread. DJDOLA, It is well with your soul. |
I took this picture, yesterday in Lagos. Modified: I can't see the picture uploaded, yet... don't know if it's my phone. :/ Modified: Fixed. ![]()

chaircover:You've always been a blessing. May God bless you and mama, more. Amen. Thank you for doing this, Chaircover. Op, my prayers are with you. May God heal you in Jesus name. Amen. |
Jenams:Same thought! However, it is so relieving to know that he is still alive. Thank God. Op, God bless and heal you in Jesus name. Do not hesitate to call for prayers, too. Prayers changes thing.. |

This thread reminds me of Stephen's Story (Google/Facebook It!!). Really, I did not know what a bucket list was all about until I stumbled across his page on facebook.. He was such an incredible 19 year old guy with some remarkable things on his bucket list...(He achieved most of them, despite his poor health, such an hero). I don't have a list, yet...Don't want to think about having any yet ...still enjoying the benefits and privileges that each day brings. |
She just passed across a very salient message. Let's hope that those at the football federation who think everything is all about money get a rethink. Nigeria is worth playing for, Nigeria is worth dying for. It's still a Great Nation, regardless of those 'unfortunate' leaders we've had...and, still have. :/ : ) |
lokito:Lol. Never a dull moment on Nairaland. And, while others are seeing flamboyant colors, beautiful home etc...you are imagining winches visitation....! Hmmm. |
100Cents:but, humility is a defence... |
This thread isn't as 'pointless', 'foolish' and 'useless' as some members have termed it. It is insightful. Absolutely. We could only hope, pray that God's will be done. And, that Pastor Adeboye does the perfect will of God in this regards. As Christians, you do not do things because others are doing it. Nor do you run because others are running, but because God blew the whistle. Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke already got a successor, though he is still alive, healthy and still preaches around the world....yet, he's got this part of the puzzle fixed, but, then, who are we to compare... Both are men of God and they recognise His voice. Don't let Pastor Adeboye to 'number Israel'. It could be suicidal. Numbering Israel might be a good idea, but not God-inspired. |
That alternate fine of N50,000 'spoilt' the show. Now, the tenant is still gonna move out of the house and bear the brunt of property that got destroyed...without the landlord paying a dime. Poor judgement... |
Modified: [Woohoo....So there are different versions to this confused man story...well, according to my BB. Phone. The gif file is static, showing equal number of people on two queues. While a red nose guy is standing somewhere in-between] |
nke001:Sadly, this is easier said than practised by organisations. We are still in a certificate-driven nation. Same reason why companies would prefer B.Sc certificate to HND. |
You ride in good cars, they complain and call you names.. You ride in a poor car, they still got names for you... Really, there is no cure to human satisfaction. Just be YOU... And let them say. ![]() Best wishes to Fayose and the people of Ekiti State. |
gistmelove:The sad truth is that it is not only the unemployed that are into gambling. High School students are now into these practices #Gambling. |
Damalex4luv:Did you just say God's Grace?!?!? Hian....! You don't need His precious grace in 'kalokalo' acts. It's demeaning. Abeg, utilise that grace on something that God would be proud of. . ![]() |
Thumbs up. These guys are exploring...! Utilising their God-given potentials to the maximum. Sadly, it seems we have more of angry mob in Africa than explorers/researchers. #PovertyKillsDream. :/ |
I feel more for Titilola (Eldest Child/Daughter). She is always looking down in all of the photographs., I guess she has 'so much' to talk about... She needs a confidant, a mentor... a motherly figure. #poorChild Well, the goodnews is that their father showed up. Good on them., |
Good to know that their father is still alive: hope rekindled for those children. Let's await their mama's response to the story, too after 7Years....(Sighs) It's unimaginable what those three children must have gone through -the trauma. Thanks to PUNCH Metro for doing the needful. |
Summarily, the Dogs are in Police Custody...Dogs on trial, Dogs awaiting Court Verdict!, Dogs are Culprits. Poor things.. Whatever happened to the owner of the dogs? He got to be paraded too for compliance, since he refused to do nothing about taming his pets ![]() |
