The so call student loan is wickedness in disguise. Imagine giving student loan and not subsidizing tuition fee is disaster waiting. I saw some group of NAS going to sing solidarity in the state house not knowing a chunk of them will not even graduate from the tertiary institution with the introduction of tuition fee. I attended a federal university with subsidized tuition fee I can only imagine when student start paying lecturer take home. Some of Tinubu policies are anti-people but alot don't see because of nepotism.
But it's not anti-people in the western world abi? There is nothing anybody can do to satisfy some people. Seeing negativity in every thing is more anti-people.

Ofunaofu:
These are rhetorics you all keep regurgitating every now and then.

Tinubu in this age and time got absolutely nothing to offer

This is some one that will spend the better part of his administration globe trotting from one hospital and rest to another
How can a former Senator, former governor of Lagos State and an experienced Accountant have nothing to offer? Someone with a good antecedent in governance. Anyway, hatred can blindfold anybody.

PoliticsResult of Lagos State Gubernatorial Election: Are the Yorubas Tribalistic? by Justfacts(op): 11:53pm On Mar 21, 2023
For the time being, the polls are over. Those who are contesting the results announcement have gone to the tribunal. Many individuals have been hurt, not just one tribe or political party. Nigerians of all tribes, political groups, and religions are dissatisfied for various reasons. Even many supporters of the winning party or candidate are dissatisfied with the condition of the nation's economy, security, educational system, and so on. Voter intimidation, vote buying, apathy, ballot destroying, killings, alterations, and so on occurred across the nation. In fairness to all, no political party among the top three contenders can be completely exonerated in all of these unpleasant cases. As decent citizens, we must refrain from fueling hatred and inflaming an already enraged situation. This is capable of causing further damages which will be of no benefit to all of us.

Several people have claimed that the LP candidate in Lagos lost the race because Yorubas are tribalistic. This is not the case; it is divisive and harmful to our unity. While we cannot deny the fact that there are chauvinists among the Yorubas, it will be grossly unfair to deny that such prejudiced persons are not among the Igbos, Hausas, Fulanis,Tsekiris, and other Nigerian tribes. I have stayed in the East and also in the North so be sure I really know what I'm talking about. But I'm not trying to start any issue on that, far from it. In essence, it should not surprise anyone that some people were only interested in voting for candidates from their tribe.

In a hotly contested presidential election, Peter Obi was heavily supported and voted for by many Yorubas in Lagos State (BAT stronghold). Obi, a full-blooded Igbo man, triumphed in Lagos. Why, then, did Yoruba Lagosians who voted PO over BAT decline to vote GRV, a Yoruba man who is also an indigenous Lagosian? If you say because his mother is Igbo, that excuse cannot hold water because Desmond Elliott who was massively voted by the Yorubas has an Igbo mother and speaks the language. Infact, if Desmond had not delved into politics, many wouldn't have known that he is a Yoruba man from Lagos. Also note that this is not the first time he would be elected into that office. There are also several Igbo people in the Lagos State Civil Service. As a matter of fact, in 2007, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appointed Mr. Ben Akabueze from Anambra state as Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning. Lets leave that there.

Now, why did many (not all) Yorubas voted against GRV?

1. Certain classes of the Yoruba elite believe that GRV is inexperienced and so will not be able to effectively manage the largest economy in sub-Saharan Africa.

2. GRV tweets referring to the Yorubas as "Afonja," a Yoruba warrior whose territory (Ilorin) fell under the control of the Fulani/Gambari in Kwara state, angered many who considered it derogatory, insulting, and insensitive.

3. GRV's affinity and solidarity with the IPOB group as seen on his social media accounts also caused some to believe he is a bigot who is out to foster the interests of the secessionist group.

4. Many Yorubas strongly believe that the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwoolu, has done excellently well and needs another term to complete many laudable projects in progress.

5. Some uninformed Yorubas, having been manipulated by the opposition through GRV's unguarded statements, believed that GRV is actually an Igbo man pretending to be a Yoruba who is on a mission to hand over the control of Lagos to the Ndigbo.

 6. In the build-up to the election, GRV reeled out and campaigned with some promises to Lagosians, which some Yoruba who had initially planned to vote him consider bogus and unrealistic.

7. Almost all the Agberos are aware that GRV will ban their activities as soon as he is sworn in as governor if he wins. This probably contributed to the intimidation and assault voters in some polling units experienced as reported.

If you notice, many of the highlighted reasons were caused by the contestant himself. Without those insults with no apology, without making public your plan to ban the activities of Agberos (this does not mean you will not do it), without showing solidarity with IPOB, without making some bogus promises, etc., I believe he would have won the election in Lagos like PO even in a much easier manner. Let's watch our social media posts, comments, and activities. They can come back to hurt and hinder us. Wisdom is profitable to direct; let's be guided.
