Politics / The Top 5 People Most Affected By The Ban On Okada Riders In Akure by justFEARLESS(m): 12:19pm On Aug 18, 2015
Commercial Cyclist popularly known as Okada Riders were banned in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State about a month ago. This means of transportation which is highly favored by the people of Akure due to its ability in getting them out of traffic holdups were banned because they vandalize some public properties while staging a protest to protest a policy that the state govt tried to impose on them.

The impact of the ban which is new to the people of Akure cannot be over emphasis. Though the numbers of accidents recorded daily has reduced drastically due to the ban on this riders who sometimes pratice ghost rider stunt on the road at the detriment of the people but it has also successfully slowed down economic activities in Akure. This list is the classikolic top 5 people most affected by the ban.

1) THE OKADA RIDERS: In a Country where job is as scarce as uranium, majority of the unemployed turned to okada riding as a means of sustaining themselves (and their family for those who have). With this ban, most of the Okada riders find it difficult to feed talk less of do any other thing. Majority of them have resulted to begging friends, family, neighbor and even their enemies before they can have their daily bread. Due to this, they are the top hit of the list.

2) THE MOTORCYCLE DEALERS/SELLERS: After the Okada Riders the motorcycle dealers are the second on the hit list. The market for motorcycles are no more moving as nobody loves bikes too hard enough to use them just to decorate their homes or to bless the policemen who will even seize a car that looks a lot like a bike.

3) THE MOTORCYCLE SPARE PART SELLERS: This set of people are the third on the hit list. Their market has been ruined. If you don't drive your bike, you will never notice where some changes is needed and when no part needs to be changed, there's no need for spare parts.

4) Civil Servant and Private workers: It is an undisputable fact that the fastest way to move around inside a city is through bike and majority of this workers have a fixed time to resume and majority of them prefers to take bike to beat the time especially in a place where there is no direct cab to. For example, someone living around New Stadium road and working in the federal secretariat will connect through like four Taxi before getting to his or her place of work but with Okada, before you finish singing Shakiti Bobo, you are already in Federal Secretariat.

5) PETROL STATION: I know petrol station owners will gladly trek from Akure to Maiduguri if that is what it takes for the ban on Okada riders to be lifted. Sales in all the filling stations within Akure has decreased by at least 25% since the ban has been placed on Okada riders.

Sports / Rising Stars Players Closes Gate Of Ondo State Football Agency Over Unpaid Allow by justFEARLESS(m): 1:09pm On Aug 12, 2015
The players of Rising Stars, a football club owned by the Ondo State Govt that currently plays in the Nigerian National League stopped the workers of ODSFA from entering the compound of the agency by locking the gate of the agency to protest its unpaid allowances. Today will make it the second day this form of protest by the rising stars started. Information from a reliable source confirmed that though part of this players allowances has been released by the state government since February but The Management of the Agency are withholding this money using some unconvincing claims to backup their stance. The players who were up to 20 at the gate today were seen chanting protest songs at the gate and publicly rebuking the secretary of the agency Mr Fabunmi who they claim was the one who mastermind in the plot to divert the released funds. Although this is not the first time this players are protesting over this unpaid allowance as they have done every possible thing to get the management of the agency to pay them their allowances but this will be the first time they will be locking the gate of the Agency.
According to my source who is One of the protestant, he said if the chairman and the secretary of the Agency fail to address the issue before next week, he said they may decide to employ more critical form of protest to force it out.

This is one of the steps that needs to be taking for the dreams of African great leaders like Kwame Nkrumah, Joseph Kizerbo, Sedar Senghor, Julius Nyerere for a United State of Africa to be actualized. Nice one! This is a road map for Africa to emerge as the WORLD POWER.
