TV/Movies / Re: Oga On Top Movie Poster by JusticeEquity(m): 10:56am On Mar 30, 2013
masterpiecer:

going by context, 'Oga on top' and 'Oga at the top' are two different things undecided

Eg:
Samsung and samsong

I have not seen the movie, and I don't know how real it is or the story line. In some cases, producers, writes etc. Don't want to be caught red-handed, so they always run away from direct attack on their subject.
Did you remember a movie produced by sony, titled ( District 9) http://www.sonypictures.com/homevideo/district9/ , which was criticised by the then Minister of Information (prof Dora), the storyline talked about ruthless actions of some Negro. The name of a key character was 'Obadsandjo' . So producers, will find ways to avoid legal battle .
I'm not saying this Nollywood movie is a direct or indirect attack. I think anybody seeing that poster would immediately think about 'MyOgaAtTheTop' Issue.

Politics / Re: Civil Defence, Police Clash In Lagos by JusticeEquity(m): 4:26pm On Mar 27, 2013
NPF is highly rated and well known for corrupt practices. It's so evident that this barbaric act by the police officers is a perversion to the course of Justice. Security agents who should pursue a common course of maintaining law and order, are now found at the forefront; violating law and order. I hope the Nigeria Police force will one day be matured and stop injustice at all levels.
I suggest that the National Assemblies put up a policy to severely punish any security agent(s), caught abusing his/her power.
This case should be well investigated and the culprits (police officer involved ) should be brought to justice.
NSCDC should not be discouraged from making sure that vandals are brought to book.
My condolences to the family of the NSCDS who lost their lives in this unprecedented happening, I pray that may God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss, I also pray for quick recovery of the injured officers.
I know God's rot shall be upon these evil doers and their GodFathers.
NYSC / NYSC: A Year Is Too SHORT by JusticeEquity(m): 8:40pm On Mar 26, 2013
Today batch A are corp members were sent to different places of primary assignment (PPA), where they are expected to serve their farther's land for a year. By now the brand new corp members should be in their PPA or in few cases close to the place. The PPA can be heaven or Hell, depending on YOU; that means the decision to be live happily in this new environment is your responsibility. Truly, it might be so challenging and difficult, with several issues to confront; language, weather, accommodation, foods, managing cash, choosing friends and dealing with people (ur boss, LGI, community people). Despite the challenges, YOU have a choice, you either make Your PPA a Paradise, otherwise it would be a hell. If u make it a paradise, then A Year will be too shor , otherwise A year will be too long .
The choice you make depends largely on your values. A friend of mine wrote 13 excellent ways to Add Values to yourself, thus making you a distinct being. Your are closer to fulfillment of your Goals.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
13 Things you need to do before the end of Your
Service Year (NYSC) The National Youth Service Period is a period of so
many experiences, some you’ll love others you
won't. My time as a corps member has helped
me put together these points that I believe will help
every “corper” out there. Have a nice time
reading through, I hope you’ll learn something from my scribbles.

13 THINGS TO DO BEFORE THE END OF YOUR SERVICE
YEAR
Man, know thyself. This is one on the writings
inscribed on the Oracle of Delphi, it simply means
self discovery. It about knows who you are, where you are from, what you are doing where you are,
what you ought to be doing where you are, where
you are going from here, your strengths,
weaknesses, your dreams and all. Before the end
of your service year, you should be able to answer
these questions sincerely. Knowing who you are tells a lot about the kind of person you are and will
be. Man, know thyself.
Know how you can be fruitful with your life, how
you can achieve much with your potentials and all
that you found out in the item above. The
knowledge of this helps to catapult you into a very wonderful future. You should be able to tell how to
use your strengths and all your experiences. If you
are the entrepreneurial type, you should be able to
see how to develop your market and strategy in
your new environment.
Be known for something. You should have an ideology that governs your life. If you cant stand
for something, you’ll fall for just anything. Know
your stand and be known for it. All the great men
you’ve read about became great because they
stood for something. Get thinking.
Be part of a network of fruitful and focused people. The Youth service scheme brings together people
from different parts of the nation with different
ideologies from different discipline. Link up with
people you’ve tested and you know can be
trusted. You’ll never know what these networks
will mean in time to come. Your type of association determines the kind of person you are and vice
versa.
Know the value of time and how to maximize time.
Time is an exhaustible thing, it can’t be saved, it
can be maximized, learn to beat procrastination
and how to keep to time and be on time. This will help you so well in the life after National service.
Get a functional Bank Account, not a bank account
that handles your withdrawal but one in which you
make deposits; the essence of this is to develop
your ability to save and manage fund efficiently.
This will really be of help to you; so many corps members have trouble saving money because of
the distorted view of saving. The service year
comes with a lot of highs and lows. Take my word,
no matter how little your allowance is, you can still
take something out to save.
Learn all you need to know about (marital) relationships, especially if you’re unmarried. A lot
of careless relationships sprung up during the
Orientation camping programme and let to
nowhere near the Wedding altar. Your youth
service period might not entail you getting into a
relationship, but you can get to learn a lot about it during this period. Getting into a marital
relationship is just around the corner.
Seek independence financially, spiritually,
emotionally etc (but be careful how you do it).
Learn all you need to know about etiquettes,
corporate, dressing, dining etc. it’ll help so much in the world out there. Gives u an edge over others.
Be literate in computer and internet usage; give
yourself a lift by adopting the social media.
Learn a skill or the other; learn something different
from your field of study. I never trained to be an e-
artist in school, but here am I today. Also improve on your own discipline, get certified, and keep
learning.
Build up a library of books you’ve read and want
to read, remember that Readers are Leaders.
Irrespective of your religion, I would advise you to
better your relationship with your God. Nothing happen without the G-Factor, you didn’t create
yourself, HE did. Get Connected to Him now, in
service and total devotion to Him.

omenka: Only in Nigeria where you find students that ought to be the symbol of civility and enlightenment acting like they just emmerged from some thick jungle in Congo where they were born and raised by silverback gorillas!

The outlook of this country's future scares me shitless!

Don't think of Nigeria as an entity that can't survival this mysterious time. Nigerian students are good students.
When people loose faith in the judicial system, they take laws into their hands, I'm not a supporter of jungle justice, but at the same time, people will always find ways to balance the judicial scale. This kind of practice might the difficult to put an end to, until the judiciary becomes sincere. A countless numbers of people known to be involved robbery, theft, rape, drugs and all sort of illegal activities were later seen walking majestically on the streets, some will even bully those who reported them to the police. The failure on the part on government lead to this repulsive actions.
The user's of the phrase '' it's only in Nigeria that... '', if I may ask, how many country have you been to? Let me tell you, worst happen in some other countries.

Politics / Peter Esele: The Man Who Failed To Wield His Sword by JusticeEquity(m): 8:16pm On Mar 25, 2013
Reading the news about Peter Esele of TUC warning President Jonathan not to remove subsidy makes me nervous. immediately questions ran through by veins:
1.Why didn't Peter Esele wield the sword when it was in his hands.
2.Why did Peter Esele joined few to accept the first subsidy cut?
3,Do you still believe in Esele's ability to stand for truth.?
For those who don't understand why these questions, I will remind your of the struggle that marked the begining of 2012, when the Federal Government uncannily raised PMS price from 65N/liter to 141N/Liter. Nigerian's were united to fight such action from the government. A common call by all was that government should return PMS price to 65N/liter.
Peter Esele (TUC) and Waheed Omar (NLC) were seen as pillars in the fight, Nigerians fasted and languished in agony during the strike action.
Unknowingly a change of plan was a place by the labour bodies, the two labour leader casted the hope on Nigerians into the ocean, the compromise reached was an increase in PMS to 97N/liter. The two leaders announced that Nationwide strike be suspended.
Many people wondered why the 2 leaders made such nasty agreement at the expense of the convenience of their members. Not long the reason was know to all, Peter Esele was rewarded for his role in aiding government aim, He was appointed into Subsidy Re-Investment Programme (SURE-P) board, it's obvious that such committee don't run on water, some goodies must have flown in for Esele.
Report submitted by the committee was rubbished by the FG and also recently Mr President said SURE-P is a failure. Indirectly, it's clear that the president referred to the people incharge of the SURE-P.

'' Keep your ‘dialogue’, Nigerians are already saying ‘No’ to Subsidy Removal'' Trade Union Congress (TUC) president, Peter Esele, has warned the Federal Government not to attempt a total removal of the subsidy on
petroleum products. Esele has also called on
President Goodluck Jonathan to build a framework that will improve security in the country. The TUC president made this call while fielding questions from journalists in Benin City, Edo State, on Sunday, shortly after receiving the African Role Model Award TV Show from the African Child Foundation. Commenting on the planned removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government, he said: “The president said he was consulting, that he was only going to remove fuel subsidy after his consultations with Nigerians. I hope that the consultation is not going to be a monologue, but with the way the consultation is going, I think the fillers are already showing that Nigerians are already saying no to removal of subsidy. “If he gets an emphatic ‘no’ and decided to go ahead, then whatever happens is his own business. He should also ensure that he carries out the end result of the consultation.”

Politics / Election: Akpabio Brags Of His Power In Rigging . by JusticeEquity(m): 8:55am On Mar 25, 2013
Since weeks now a popular slang and term of reference is 'MyOgaAtTheTop'. This new term of reference was launched during a TV interview by Mr Shem, Lagos state NSCDC commissioner.
Its the turn of another 'MyOgaAtTheTop' to boost on the success of illegal practice during an election.
According to the source, Akpabio was quoted
“I used my own hand to strike out the name of the person who HAD WON BEFORE, and I said it is important for me to give that region a Senator in 2007, and I produced Senator Aloysius Etok for you; that's where he comes from,"
The governor said, before gesturing to Mr. Etok, who attended the session alongside his colleague in the Senate, Ita Enang, to“take a bow"

Has Akpabio committed a blunder by bragging of such mischievous action.? (yes/No). What's Your Opinion?

Crime / Pictures Of A 23-yr-old Thief Caught At Ijero-Ekiti by JusticeEquity(m): 10:18pm On Mar 22, 2013

A Common say among the people of in south West Nigeria says " Every day is for a thief, one day is for the owner", This was the case yesterday (21/3/13) at Ijero-Ekiti in Ekiti State, when a young man, who claimed to be 23yrs old was caught performing what he said he has practiced for 5years, He also said he works in an quarry (name withheld). The young man was apprehended, after stealing phones , laptops, cloths, food items and money belonging to some students of COHEST Ijero Ekiti.
His timing was so right, but unfortunately for Him, a female student was in one of the rooms where the 23yr Old attempts to steal from. It was this female student who raised alarm lead to bring down the thief (or police will call it suspect).
He was immediately showered with massive beaten from the students, he was also striped naked, before he was handed over to the police. It was clear the he is not a students of the health institution.
