Crime / NDLEA Arrests Two Narcotics Traffickers At Lagos Airport by justino57(m): 8:23pm On Mar 23, 2017
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested two individuals for narcotics possession at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos on Thursday.

NDLEA operatives apprehended one Roland Chukwudi Tochukwu, 37, with 2.045kg of heroin imported from Nairobi, Kenya.

The NDLEA disclosed that the suspect also possessed a fake ticket indicating that he was traveling from China.

NDLEA spokesman Mitchell Ofoyeju said that he intentionally carried the fake travel ticket from China to circumvent security checks.

“Preliminary investigation by the anti-narcotic agency revealed that Tochukwu deliberately replaced his ticket with a fake one showing that he was coming from China instead of Nairobi,” Mr. Ofoyeju said. “This was intended to place him on a low risk profile, but his expectations were dashed as the heroin concealed inside his luggage was detected during a screening of passengers on an Ethiopian Airline flight.”

Roland Chukwudi Tochukwu was arrested for heroin possession at Lagos airport
Commenting on the arrest, NDLEA Commander at the Lagos airport, Ahmadu Garba, added that drugs are more expensive in Asia, so passengers from Asian countries are generally not suspected to be trafficking drugs from there.

“The suspect wanted to distract the attention of officers by presenting himself as coming from China while he actually took off from Nairobi. This is because it is economically unwise to bring narcotics from China where the price is far higher than here in Nigeria,” Mr. Garba said.

Another suspect, Maduka Nnemeka Peter, 39, was also caught attempting to export 1.555kg of cocaine to Dubai from Lagos.

“Heroin weighing 2.045kg was found inside the luggage of Tochukwu while Maduka also concealed 1.555kg of cocaine in his luggage on his way to Dubai on an Etihad flight,” he said.

Mr. Tochukwu, a trader in Onitsha who is married with three children, confessed that he was introduced to the illicit business by his friend.

“This was the plan of my friend who introduced me into drug trafficking. I sell clothes in Onitsha, but my business is as good as dead due to the economic recession,” he said. “My friend that I contacted for financial assistance requested that I bring a bag containing heroin from Nairobi. The fake ticket was the plan of my friend who assured me that I will never be caught.”

Mr. Peter, an automobile parts dealer based in Aba with his wife and two children, also decried his involvement in the dastardly act.

He claimed that he lost goods worth N4 million naira a few years ago and since the loss, his life has been difficult.

Mr. Peter confessed that he would have been paid N200,000 by his sponsors if he succeeded with the exportation of the drugs out of the country, stressing that he had planned to use the proceeds to solve family problems.

NDLEA Chief Executive Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (retd.) assured that the agency would continue to work hard and remain vigilant in its counter-narcotics mission.

"We are always ahead of drug barons because of our commitment to training and security vigilance in detecting and nipping every subterfuge in the bud. The agency will continue to sustain its dominance over drug cartels,” Mr. Abdallah stated.

The suspects, both Anambra State natives, will be charged to court.

Mergers and acquisitions are a part of each and every business. It means that there are times when companies choose to become a part of other company to keep the business going. Be it groceries, clothes, shoes or makeup, this one smart move is the reason why we never go out of options when we go shopping. You probably know that PepsiCo boasts about being an owner of Cheetos and Lays and that Facebook has acquired WhatsApp and Instagram recently. Here are some big brands that you probably don't know are owned by other giant companies:

Technology Market / Difference Between Gprs, Edge, 3g, Hspa, Hspa+ & 4g Lte by justino57(m): 11:02am On Feb 18, 2017
Personally I have been very privileged to have been in a situation where I was teaching some guys who just started using the android phones mostly the tecno android smartphone users who have readily got thousand and one questions to ask about the smart phone features including the difference between the different network signal (GPRS, EDGE and 3G) that interchanges periodically in their network notification area which actually led to creating the short enlightening post.

Before advancing, it should be known that 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G etc refers to the different generations of wireless communication technology characterized by having a defined range of speed.

GPRS (General Packet Radio Service)

GPRS is a packet-based* wireless communication service. It is a 2G technology network that support a download speed of up-to 114Kbps. Limitation of GPRS is that GPRS data cannot be sent while a voice call is in progress.

EDGE (Enhanced Data GSM Evolution)

GPRS and EDGE are both 2G technology but EDGE is significantly faster with a download speed of up-to 384Kbps. EDGE is most-a-times called a 2.5G network as it also has some characteristics of a 3G network but it doesn’t satisfy the specification.

3G

Introduction of 3G network made video calling and seamless streaming of video possible. It comes with a commendable download speed of up-to 3.1Mbps.

UMTS

UMTS is the same thing as 3G network in both download and upload speed. The acronym itself stands for Universal Mobile Telecommunication Service and allows a download/upload speed of between 384Kbps to 2Mbps.

Note that for Code-Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technologies, the 3G network is refereed to as Evolution Data Optimized (EvDO) which offers similar max upload speed as UMTS for GSM data communications.

HSPA (High-Speed Packet Access)

It is based on the 3G network and an enhancement to 3G. Thus has a faster upload and download speed. It’s maximum speed can scale as high as 14Mbps. HSPA is sometimes called 3.5G.

It is also important to note that both HSDPA and HSUPA belongs to the HSPA family. While HSDPA stands for High-Speed Down-link Packet Access, HSUPA means High-Speed Up-link Packet Access.

HSPA+ (Evolved High-Speed Packet Access)

HSPA+ is an evolution HSPA(HSDPA&HSUPA). It is a 4G technology that allows download at a rate of up to 168Mbps.

4G LTE (Long Term Evolution)

LTE is a 4G communication standard that supports HD video streaming, download speed as high as 299.6Mbps.

WiMAX/LTE-A

These are the most recent mobile data communication technologies that makes both uploads and downloads faster than ever. You can get as much as 1GB/s with this generation of data technologies. While LTE-A stands for Long Term Evolution Advanced, WiMAX means Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access.

Summary
GPRS (114Kbps) < EGDE (368Kbps) < 3G(3.1Mbps) < HSPA (14Mbps) < HSPA+(168Mbps) < 4G/LTE/WiMAX( above 500Mbps)

*Packet-based means that data is broken into packets before being transmitted.

This is all there is to learn about mobile data communication and various generation of data network technologies. Feel free to ask us any question even if it is not directly related to this post

Crime / 6 Ways Your Bank Account Can Be Hacked by justino57(m): 1:05am On Feb 12, 2017
With current attempts by fraudsters to access people’s bank accounts through text messages, emails, phone calls etc., it is important we are armed with the knowledge of the different ways our bank accounts can be hacked by these fraudsters. This will help us better discern their gimmicks, avoid their traps and keep our money safe.

Jumia Travel reveals 6 ways your bank account can be hacked.

TRUSTING SUSPICIOUS EMAILS, TEXT MESSAGES AND PHONE CALLS

In 2015, Babatunde Fatai, a young man arrested by the Oyo State Police command for various internet crimes including hacking into bank accounts of people in and outside Nigeria, revealed that to hack into bank accounts he would either go to dating sites to woo men and women into trusting him with their account details, or he would send fake emails to bank customers asking them to change their accounts and bank security details. Fatai will then use their ‘old’ security details to access their accounts and transfer their money to his online lovers, for these lovers to transfer back to him through another means.

You should be alert to suspicious emails, especially those that come with promotions from banks giving links you should click. Check the email ID or address and compare with the bank’s official email to see if anything is off (that is, to see if it’s an unofficial or copycat account). Most importantly, always call your bank to confirm any suspicious email before you reply.

TRUSTING SUSPICIOUS TEXT MESSAGES AND PHONE CALLS

As you should be careful with emails, so should you also be careful with text messages and phone calls.

Text messages about your account being blocked because of your BVN and instructing you to call another number to activate; phone calls from strange numbers (numbers different from your bank’s customer care numbers) asking you to disclose your bank’s details especially when you did not previously log a complaint with your bank about any issue related to what is being asked of you, amongst many others, should all be confirmed before responding to them.

Use your bank’s helpline and if you can, go to a nearest bank branch to confirm. The cost of not confirming is most times far more than the cost of confirming. Don’t be quick to share sensitive bank details through any means, no matter how genuine it seems.

SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILES

Some hackers get personal information such as your name, date of birth, email and phone number off your social media accounts. With this basic information, a sophisticated hacker can get past other options to change your pin and access your account.

If you use Internet Banking, it is advisable you edit your social media profiles, especially Facebook profiles. If you must leave your day and month of birth, delete your birth year, delete phone numbers you put there that are connected to your bank account and use ones that are not linked to your bank account. For your name, you don’t have to put your full name, especially the one your bank recognizes, on your profile. Your first and last name, or simply a username or nickname is fine.

UNENCRYPTED WEBSITES

According to the Telegraph, you should never shop or log in to online banking when the web address does not begin with “https” or without a lock sign displayed on the address bar.

For an added layer of security, check the online banking security options your bank provides such as free antivirus and browser security software. Ensure that your computer is protected by “firewall” software. Also, browsers (especially Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox) often come with built-in security features. Make sure they are activated.

WEAK PASSWORDS

Especially for those who use Internet Banking, weak passwords make it easy for hackers to crack your passcode and access your account. Strong and unique passwords that are long, random and made up of different cases, numbers, letters and symbols are the best.
CHEQUE BOOKS AND ACCOUNT NUMBERS

Afam Nriezedi, along with his syndicate members, was arrested in 2015 by detectives attached to the Special Anti-Robbery squad of the Lagos State Police Command for hacking into Nigerian banks with the assistance of bankers and domestic servants.

To hack bank accounts, someone (a domestic servant or relative from the house of the victim) will bring a leaf from the cheque book of the victim to them. The leaf most times isn’t signed but contains the victim’s account number. With the account number, details of the victim’s name, phone number, email, house and work address including the victim’s account balance can be gotten, once they contact an insider in the bank they need the information from. Getting the insider usually isn’t easy but because it is a syndicate, it’s all about the effort and teamwork.

Their next step is to get a copy of the signature of the victim provided most times by the insider in the victim’s home. The cheque is taken to Mushin where the signature is forged and the amount they intend to steal is written. Most times, they don’t use e-banking to transfer the money but withdraw it upfront (usually using an amount that is possible to withdraw upfront). They never go the branch of their insider to do this.

It is important to be careful and restrict access to your cheque book. Also, don’t be careless with your account numbers and emails, phone numbers and addresses linked to your account number. From time to time, check your cheque book to confirm there is no missing page. Also monitor text messages and emails sent to you by your bank to be sure transactions you did not authorize have not occurred.

Health / You Can Make Your Scalp Grow Hair Back Naturally, Just Follow These Simple Step by justino57(m): 7:41pm On Feb 05, 2017
Losing your hair can be an embarrassing situation to go through, but it happens to million of people. While most of the people who lose their hair are over the age of 40, anyone can get bald spots and lose hair. You lose your hair from an illness, a bad diet, but- most of all–hair loss is hereditary. You can make your scalp grow hair back naturally by follow these simple tips.

1. ONION JUICE & GARLIC HAIR LOSS REMEDY

What You Need:

Onion juice
Garlic 4-5 cloves
1 egg yolk

How To Use:

Prepare basic onion juice
Grate garlic cloves into a mass and add other ingredients.
Mix well and apply the mask on scalp with circular movements using only fingertips.
Leave the mixture on for 30 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water and mild shampoo.
Garlic mixed with onion works great. Two vegetables stimulate blood flow to the scalp, nourishing the hair, and encouraging hair to grow and strengthen. It is an effective natural remedy for weakened hair. Garlic juice removes harmful toxins and prevents excessive hair loss. If you have dry hair or itchy scalp (provoked by dandruff), garlic extract applied on the scalp will give you relief from nasty symptoms.

2. CONSUME PROTEIN AT EVERY MEAL

Protein is full of a chemical called biotin, which helps your skin cells stay healthy and begin growing hair again. Biotin is great for healthy hair, skin and nails. At every meal, consume protein like eggs, peanut butter and nuts.

3. MASSAGE YOUR HEAD

As strange as it sounds, massaging your head for just 10 minutes per day can provide your hair follicles the stimulation they need to really ramp up the production of new hair cells. The process is incredibly simple, too.
Take your favorite skin care oil (we recommend coconut) and apply a small amount to the tips of your fingers. Gently rub your scalp in circular motions, applying as much pressure as you are comfortable with.
The pressure from your fingers will help increase the blood circulation to your scalp, and help remove any toxins that have built up in that area.

4. DRINK GREEN TEA

Green tea can make your hair grow back naturally. Green tea lowers the levels of dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, in your body. DHT is one on the main culprits to hair loss, so drinking tea can help your hair grow back in a natural way. Drink at least 24 oz. of green tea every day to help your scalp grow hair back.

Politics / Uwazuruike: Kanu Is An Internet Fraudster A Ghanaian Woman Left Him Homeless In by justino57(m): 4:53pm On Jan 15, 2017
Ralph Uwazuruike, founder of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has described the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a “fraudster” who has no genuine interest in the Biafran struggle.

Speaking in Owerri, Imo state capital, while responding to the allegation that the federal government had contracted him to testify against Kanu in secret, Uwazuruike said he could do so openly if he wanted.

Emma Powerful, spokesman of IPOB, had said the current administration promised to give oil wells to Uwazuruike if he assists in nailing Kanu.

“Some unscrupulous elements in Biafra land are working with the Nigeria government and the DSS to hide under the screen to testify against Nnamdi Kanu,” Powerful had said in a statement.

“IPOB intelligence unit across the country uncovered plans and names of those to be used by the federal government to testify against our leader Nnamdi Kanu.

“The Buhari government promised to allocate oil wells to Ralph Uwazuruike and his associates in crime against the leader of IPOB and Biafrans worldwide.

“To buttress our points, Raphael Uwazuruike and co were in contact with the DSS headquarters in Owerri and Abuja to perfect this heinous crime against humanity but right now they are in Abuja to compliment the whole arrangements to testify against the People of Biafra and our leader.”

Describing the allegation as “laughable”, Uwazuruike said the modern Biafra is his product.

He claimed to have started the struggle for Biafra when no Igbo man could summon the courage to mention Biafra because “it was then considered as a taboo”.

“The allegations are idiotic, stupid and laughable. The modern Biafra is my product, I started it in 1999 and since that time I have been on with the struggle,” he said.

“Our late leader, Odimegwu Ojukwu gave me the franchise and I am the leader of the Biafran struggle today any other person involved in the struggle is working on my behalf.

“When I founded MASSOB in 1999 and started the struggle for Biafra, no Igbo man could summon the courage to mention Biafra, it was then considered as a taboo. Our people were cowards and could not mention Biafra until I started.

“When I started nobody gave me a chance, I went through the hurdles alone. So Nnamdi Kanu is not the first Igbo to be tried for treason, I also stood before the same judge handling his case for the same charge of treason. He should face his trial like a freedom fighter and if need be die for the course.”

He maintained that Kanu was “a nobody”, whom he picked up in London while he was “practising internet fraud as his only means of livelihood”.

Uwazurike said he made Kanu the director of Radio Biafra London, but Kanu later claimed that he established the station.

“Kanu was homeless when I met him in London. I gave him the first money to rent an apartment after he was thrown out by the Ghanaian woman he was living with,” he said.

“When I met him (Kanu) in London he had no job and no certificate; he was into internet crime. So who is Nnamdi Kanu? It is you the journalists that are flaming him up as somebody; if not, he is a nobody.

“The struggle continues to be alive as long as I agree. Even if Nnamdi Kanu dies today, the struggle continues. I cannot travel to Abuja to give evidence against Kanu masked. If I want to do that, I will testify against him in an open court but I can’t do that, what do I stand to gain?”

U can cry ooo but don’t commit succeed.. It your risk n your faults.. No one to blame. Greed people only join mmm

Thendo Stivo LOL u should have learned from your brothers and sisters here in south africa , our old mavro maoney is gone as we speak and MMM is at silence as we speak so watch out for this ponzi schemes i have also learned my lesson here in south africa but atleast is not to much money that i lost

UPDATE!!!

After carrying out our own research we found out that this exact thing that just happend to Nigerian MMM Happened to the South African MMM Sometime back. here is the below report;

Controversial “donation platform” and alleged Ponzi scheme, MMM
South Africa collapsed and rebooted amid what it calls a “media panic”.

In a notice posted to participants of the scheme after it happened, the group said that “persecution against MMM organized by the mass media” has provoked a panic which has forced the scheme to “start all over again”.

The group’s administration said that the scheme’s currency – “Mavros”, named after the scheme’s founder, convicted Russian fraudster, Sergey Mavrodi – had been frozen and were impossible to use.

The group blamed the collapse of the system on media reports and South African banks, which it alleges have hurt and robbed “millions” of people who were part of the MMM scheme.

The scheme said it has started over with a clean sweep, with a plan to compensate users for any Mavro funds which were frozen.

The “old” version of the Mavro currency will be ‘bought out’ through trades of the “new” version of the currency, where equal value would be paid out to participants over six months, using 10% of total trade – effectively placing a debt burden on all participants.

The notice popped up on participants’ dashboards over the weekend (1 May 2016), but was no longer appearing by Tuesday, according to users. The notice was captured and posted to social media, however:

Dear participants!

Unfortunately, the persecution against MMM organized by the mass media has provoked a panic. We have been working in South Africa for almost 2 years and we have millions of members. During all that time, we had no complaints and accusations from participants, everything was paid to everyone in time and in full amount, by 30% per month. We held charity events and helped children. We did a lot of useful things for people! Well, who was suffering from this?

The bankers and the adherents of the current unjust financial system. That is why they planned and brought all these crazy investigations and persecution in the mass media. “The only thing which prevents the investigation is the fact that non of the participants reported to the police”. If there are no complaints, and everybody is happy, then what is the investigation for? What is the subject? Did not they understand the consequences? Did not they understand that their irresponsible actions would hurt people? Millions of people! Well, try oppressing any bank, even the most reliable one, in the same way, and see what will happen tomorrow.

However, it is futile to explain that to them. MMM prevents banks from robbing people, that is the only reason why all this is happening. And nobody cares about people. If we managed to pay millions of participants 30% per month for two years (and would still be paying, if the mass media did not lie about MMM!), why do banks not do the same? Why do they offer only a few percents a year? Make your own conclusions. Thought everything is clear right now. You are simply robbed, we have always been saying it. The modern financial system is predatory by nature. It is not for ordinary people, it is for the bankers
