For me, as someone who's analytical, I computed my odds. The odds are disproportionately stacked against you. The owners of the house (casino, bet sites, softwares) will always win. And perhaps the most important reason I stopped betting after a few trials was the very fact that it has a way of damping your drive and ambition. You start to chase quick money/fixes instead putting in real solid time to learn a trade, skills or profession.
