They won't accept it in Lagos, I don't know about other centres.
Also make sure that all letters on the stamp are clear, if not ask your supervisor to send another copy.

Hello guys, pls I need your advice and suggestion.
My PhD supervisor sent his utility bill,a letter and his certified ID just to show proof of accommodation.

Has anyone recently submitted and received a processed application for study visa in Lagos and how long did it take. I am worried that someone had to withdraw their passport "after waiting for four months"
Nairaland / General / What Does The Recent Facebook-ca Saga Mean For The Future Of Big Data Analytics? by Juwohn: 5:54pm On Apr 14, 2018
Dear Data Scientist, Programmers and other interested in the whole big data revolution and how we can tap the numerous information available online to improve policies and programs.

I've been a bit worried about what this saga would mean for the future of access to "big data". More importantly with the option of a paid Facebook platform that collects less user information. Is this likely to affect anything or what should we anticipate in the next few years as researchers and analysts.

I look forward to your contributions

I HEARD OF IT TOO BUT WHEN I CHECKED TODAY ON JUMIA I DISCOVERED THAT THE PRICE IS STILL THE SAME INCLUDING SAMSUNG NOTE 8 THAT WAS RUMOURED TO COST AROUND 150K+ INSTEAD OF 300K+

Rmba that they were offering only one item in that category. It was probably "sold" when you checked. I also checked for the iPhone x which also wasn't available. Those guys ain't loyal.

How many other people has it happened to before you concluded it’s their doing?

I have experienced that before and I don't think it is only calls to Nigeria.
I once called my gf in Ghana and she was ending the calls because she was expecting mine.

Well, I'm not but read my statements and understand the message.

Could it be that he made a mistake too or he just doesn't know the difference between HIRE and HIGHER??

House please, I'm in need of a police clearance from Nigeria but currently in SA.

Do I have to go get it in Lagos, or the Nigerian embassy assists with this?
I've tried to search online but no clue.

Thanks in Anticipation
Religion / Re: Is Pastor John Obayemi Still The RCCG General Overseer In Nigeria? by Juwohn: 2:43pm On Apr 09, 2017
Their is a huge difference between a General Overseer and a National Overseer.
Pst Adeboye is the General Overseer while
Pst Obayemi is the National Overseer.

Holy Ghost Service is a Worldwide event hence led by the G.O

olrotimi:

Could we then say Baba Adeboye wasn't directed by the spirit to pick Pastor John?

You can actually do cash back transactions at retail stores like Shoprite and Pic 'n' Pay, subject to the monthly withdrawal limits on your card.

I think they don't do this for international cards or maybe the stores at my side

If another sponsor is found, that makes it 3rd sponsor, Mum, Uncle and the new...won't that also raise suspicion?

Thanks. What about withdrawal? And what's the limit per month?

Hi, I don't think any bank allows withdrawal for now.
Alternatively, you may look for someone who wants to buy things at the store, swipe for them n get their cash ***but safety**

The denials are getting worrisome . No point trying to raise money to lodge ,it will be denied again for lodgement . Look for some one with ovr 1m in the account and let the person draft letter stating he wil be sponsoring his program .ID card or passport attached .

The integrity is about the account statement. Since the two rejections were based on that that's definitely what the VO would be focusing mainly on. So If the statement is above 1m apply immediately then. Maybe Monday.

If any sort of rejection comes after this then they never wanted to give him the permit in the first place.

About the self-introductory letter adjustments, just first acknowledge you've rectify the problem of last rejection (funds). Probably attach the rejection letter as reference, well they'll get to know anyways.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your advices.
He'll go re-apply again. I'm hopeful of a positive feedback this time.

School fees paid or not, 500K as closing balance is highly insufficient .

You should have asked here before submitting. A minimum of 1M closing balance is okay.

Thanks, he will get a new statement and resubmit next week.
It's just worrisome that he's been denied 2wice, scared of what the third might be.

Should have had atleast equivalent R50,000.
Even Many Phd fully funded study still have balance of over 1m just to be safe. The last time you asked if it was 500k you said it's the balance I would've told you to make it 1m.

He should apply immediately before Study permit application closes for non-Phd this year. You can make a deposit of 250k each 4times next week then withdraw 200k in between the week. Print up the statement on Friday then apply same Friday nextweek. Make sure you make necessary adjustments to introductory letter. All the best.

Thank you very much....now that it's end of the month, we have been able to raise above 1m but I have 2 concerns.

# Being the 2nd rejection, does this not tell on our integrity because I'm already giving up and advising him to wait till next year.
# Does he have to wait till Friday as a requirement please, as he's almost loosing his admission.

Can you please highlight the necessary adjustments please?

Ok I've no idea the high commission confirm the present amount in the account as at when they checking not the amount it was when the statement was issued.

Yes he can use the statement. All changed details should be well explained in his introductory letter. First Why he changed institution, why a new sponsor, plus all those letters of fundings attached. And don't forget sponsorship letter.

When is he supposed to resume at wits? Cos this study permit is taking longer than expected these days.

Please help, he re-applied as advised but rejected again making it the second time.
First, it was "bank statement lacked credibility", now it's "Insufficient funds"

I'm really confused now cos he has to resume before mid-March or cancel his admission.
Cancelling is a tough decision now cos of the amount spent so far.

The amount on the bank statement is roughly 500k naira, he has 18k rands paid already into the institution's account, the study his fully funded and he will be staying with me. I really don't know how much is needed to prove his financial capability.
Apparently, with the amount on ground, I don't think he would even need the 18k rands, 18k rands available already, free tuition, and free accommodation and all these information were detailed in his letters.

Advise please.

Congrats Bro, how long did it take you please.

Defend another man's country o, xenophobia is good, support it or rather justify it. Like I say I am a permanent resident of SA and won't close my eyes to the truth. South africans don't want you and I, I have lived there and I know, don't decieve others

I'm not defending the killing of a fellow African.
Good, you are a permanent resident. So how many legal immigrants have they killed in your city or province??

South Africans don't want you as a foreign national but do you as a Nigerian want your brother from another tribe? that's the question.
If we all unite as one and bridge this tribal gap there won't be any need of visiting their country, studying or even work there.

It's their country, and they have the right to fight against anyone that wants to pollute the sanity or integrity of their country.
That is what we lack as Nigerians.

I said this in 2015, but na small small, this is just a reflection of the failed government in SA and xenophobia will only get worse

What exactly is your point SA, SAfricans are fighting against foreign drug lords, criminals and illegal immigrants in their country.
Nigerians in Nigerians are fighting against themselves, Igbo fighting against Yoruba, Yoruba fighting against Hausa.

In SA, it's Xenophobia, in Nigeria, it's tribal war, Fulani and Niger Delta.
Abeg which Government has failed??
If you're not in SA I dont think you have any right to speak ill of the Country, and if you have studied or benefited from their government, you have no right either.

WITS has resumed already since 6 February, I have taken consent from his department and they are willing to accept him.

He should reapply immediately. In this introduction letter he should explain what happens with the statement has he paid fees and also attach all proof of payment of fees at UJ to his application submitting the same statement of account submitted at first showing the money withdrawn from the account. But how was he able to finalize online registration without uploading a certified copy of Study permit?

If I may ask when did he submit the application and when did he get the response?

THanks for your response.
He applied on 18 January and only got a response this monday (20 February).
The University accepted his receipt of visa application to facilitate his registration and expected that it would be ready in 2 or 3 weeks...

With the situation on ground, he has to cancel his study at UJ and continue with WITS because he has missed too many lectures.
He can't use the previous statement now because the balance is very low but he has a letter of funding from WITS university that covers his tuition and he will be staying with me at JoBurg.

Do you think we should the statement of a family friend as sponsor?
The Guardian is willing to help.

House please Help.

First I would like to ask how long it takes for an appeal to be reconsidered.

Basically, my brother was rejected because his bank statement "lacked credibility".
Truth is that the Statement is very authentic, what however went wrong was that the money in the account was transferred into his student account at UJ to facilitate his online registration soo literarily, the balance on the account was much lower than the amount in the statement.

We never thought of this while making the transfer/payment and he was given a deadline to register online which he can't do without paying most of his fees.

I would appreciate all advices that can lead to a way out of this mess as I am really confused right now.
THanks
