You should have apply long ago. Long term visas processing time varies from 6 to 8 weeks.
Some who applied October 2018 are still waiting. Anyone who lied they got der study visa within a month lied, they are all agent looking for clients.

Try This:
01 4612067
01 4612981

source:
https://www.gov.za/about-government/contact-directory/representatives-rsa/representatives-rsa/nigeria-federal-republic

These info are for DHA HQ:
general enquiry: hacc@dha.gov.za
study visa responsible managers: nomvuzo.vilakazi@dha.gov.za
visitors visa: adziliwi.muravha@dha.gov.za
phone: 0800 60 11 90

They might not help but the more quarries they receive the more they question d embassies.

This is sad to hear at this point, have you heard anything yet regarding your permit?

UPDATE UPDATE!!!!!!!!!
I got a call from my agent this night that visa from December to January 9 is ready for collection at the embassy that it’s seems they have problem with their web so I think if you fall in this range try your luck

We might have to wait for a few days for it to arrive at the VFS Office.
And is this information for Lagos or abuja?

I doubt this would work. VFS is aware of the delay but they also claim to not understand why as they are just an intermediary organisation.
During my application I met almost four people who had come to withdraw their passport. I had to submit mine even bearing those issues in mind cos there was no alternative then. Now I know better but still hoping for the best.

vicola5533:
Or, all applicants who applied and no response, can we suggest a date and then go to the VFS in Lagos with our complain letter and then channel it to them in a compelling disturbing manner.

This really sounds good. I for one didn't even know that we could complain to the Foreign Affairs.
Did you complain via email or in-person. My experience with the Nigerian govt. offices is that they are not active online smiley

Blessings15:

we do brother, I reported case to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abuja last year was told no one has complained only me. If we are more than 5 and above they will act.

Yes boss, everywhere you have resided/lived (study/work).

qalifa:
Guys does the Lagos vfs require me to have police clearance from SA too ? I lived there for about two years
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 11:07am On Feb 13, 2019
I think it's a general issue perhaps from Home Affiars in ZA.
I've seen another thread where Zimbabweans are complaining.
Fortunately for them, they have been able to force their high commissioner to release all passports by Feb ending, with priority for scholarship n grant recipients.

Unfortunately no one is fighting for us ‍♂️

Potch:

The new SA High Commissioner is the one making the permit process complex. However, as a PhD student you need not worry too much because you can commence your study anytime. You only need to inform your supervisor and the International Office.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 8:49pm On Feb 07, 2019
Can you please advise if you sought for assistance from the WITS international student office. Mine is renewal. Still under assessment after 5weeks.

babalawo:

My wife just got her Visa yesterday 01/31/2018. She applied on the 17 of January in Abuja. Going to Wits for MSc Computer Science. Yes they said registration has close but she will be leaving mid month- I think the registration can be extended for International students
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 12:10pm On Feb 07, 2019
...and I think they want a notarized copy not older than 3months.

rockachic:
Can I use the documents that was notarized in 2015? Part of SA visa requirements is that I notarize my marriage certificate and my child’s birth certificate. I had both documents notarized in 2015 when I applied for Canada visa. Can I still use the same documents? The date on it is 2015
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 12:06pm On Feb 07, 2019
Notorization, Yes.

That's why I'm saying I doubt the high commission wants a notarized copy for marriage certificates. Now they are asking for an authenticated copy from foreign affiars ministry. Their is an office in Lagos but the office also redirects to Abuja. OP should clarify what high commission really wants to avoid forth and backs.

Geenosko:

This can be done at any high court

Visitors for long (more than 3 months) or short visit shocked

bibike123:
4 weeks now, applied for visitors visa on d 9feb 2019 at Lagos center, tracking keep saying under assessment, pls is any one experiencing such delay?
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 10:21am On Feb 07, 2019
I'm not sure if they really mean notarize.
I think what they want is that you authenticate it and my understanding is that it's only done in Abuja - Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Sorry about the refusal of your permit bro.
Mine is still in Lagos, 5 weeks today.

Please what’s the average wait time for study permit in Lagos ?

That's good news. Congrats bro. Glad you didnt withdraw at the last moment

I just got a notification that mine is ready for collection so I’ll go tomorrow and see ... since August 29th 2018!
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 6:41pm On Feb 02, 2019
I quite agree with you.
The issue is not with stamps at the POE.
The issue is the level of screening by officials.
My experience is that your country of departure and airline matters alot.

Maybe RwandaAir flyers might have a different experience, but I've hardly seen anyone who flew ARIK (when it was still operating th JHB - LOS route) have a good experience at the point of entry.

xoo32:

I have flown rwandair and Kenyan airways. Having no issues but thoroughly screened. I have flown SAA and had zero issues. Was even asked to do “ewallet”.

No not yet. Just being hopeful.

Metucity:
Have you been called for collection @Juwohn?

Wow is this for study permit? I submitted on the 3rd. Also hopeful of a positive decision.

Finally, after 4 weeks (2nd of January 2019),my passport is finally ready for collection.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 2:07am On Jan 29, 2019
Wow. Did you speak directly with the consular. I could remember that in 2017 when my brother was having delays with his study permit, we had to call the high commission directly. First it goes to the call centre, then you explain to them n asked to be transferred to him/her. Then it was him not sure what happens now.

qalifa:

I submitted since 29th August I’ve been calling and nothing so yeah I think Lagos willl be a better bet for me

Please what is the direct number of the high commission Lagos ? , I have been calling vfs office in Lagos and they keep saying the same thing over again.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 8:06pm On Jan 28, 2019
They should. I submitted mine on the 3rd and still under processing. I think you will be taking a big risk by withdrawing from Abuja only to start a fresh 6weeeks application in Lag. Why don't you put a call through to the high commission?

qalifa:

Can someone please respond

Okay

If you are not a frequent traveller or stay abroad, getting the 64 page for 70k is a waste of money.

Why get that when you can get

32 pages multiplied by 2 which Is 64 pages in 10 years only for 50k

casualobserver2:

What I suspect is that they will increase the price of the cheaper ones. I would advise getting the one of 70k just to avoid stress of renewal so that you only do the process once.

Even beyond renewal, imagine applying for a three/four years visa on a five year passport expiring in one year. Your visa will only be issued for the one year, you will reapply again when you renew your passport. Imagine the stress, you may even be denied at your second application.

@Drey143 also got a call from the high commission but not regarding police clearance.

Drey143:
Hi everyone, I just received a call from someone in the high commission

VO: Hello l'm Mr xxxx calling you from the SA high commission...you applied for a study visa?
Me: yes I did.
VO: what is your name?
Me: I replied
VO: what school are you going to
Me:UCT
VO: what course?
Me: mech and mechatronics
VO: who is sponsoring you?
Me: my father, and he has a company (said that because I used my father's company account)
VO: when is the course starting?
Me: the school resumes January 28 but I'll fly January 25th( that's what I stated in my introduction letter and that's the date in my flight reservation that I submitted)
VO:okay..then he said something like confirmed I didn't hear clearly though and he hanged up immediately

I'm wondering why they had to call on a Sunday.. What if I was in church ....i wasn't the one who picked at first.. I hope there's no problem with that?

It was like an interview tho..
I pray the visa is released this week o

I submitted on Jan 3 in Lagos, don't know if I should be happy or worried.
I can only hope for a miracle.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 11:47am On Jan 21, 2019
When did you submit please?

goodguygonebad:
I just received a call from the high commission. I was asked for police clearance from Germany where I did my masters. The caller then requested to know when I left germany after which she said she would get back to me.

Anyone have similar experience

Travel / Re: My Sister's Christmas Vacation In Ethiopia And South Africa by Juwohn: 9:43pm On Jan 20, 2019
Hi, can anyone please advise.
I will be travelling to Swaziland next week but the high commission for the country is in Ethiopia, hence I have to stop over at Ethiopia to submit an application.

However, my passport is expiring on the 14 July 2019. Ethiopian visa on arrival policy requires that I have six months validity from the period of travel but I do not have the intention of spending more than 3days in Ethiopia.

Does anyone think I will have issues at the point of entry or departure? Please advice.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 3:57pm On Jan 17, 2019
Usually, how long does it take to get a withdrawn passport back?
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 12:33pm On Jan 16, 2019
Did you travel this year?

geekybabe:

Well. You may be lucky like I was. I carried 4 and even carried plantains. cheesy. Make sure it is in the main luggage you are checking in and not in your hand luggage. Make sure the luggage is also wrapped and protected with a wrap at the airport.
When you arrive at Joburg and pick your luggage, Don’t act nervous or suspicious. There is a possibility the custom guys will want to rescan your luggage. Once u clear, you are good to go.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Juwohn: 12:31pm On Jan 16, 2019
You can but if you are arriving in OR, chances are that you may not leave the airport with your yam. Their is a new restriction on agricultural projects. On arrival, passengers are randomly picked to scan their bags. If your yam is very clean without sand, you may be allowed to go. Infested beans will not be allowed. Mine has been seized like twice. First time I almost cried, 5tubers ‍♂️

Omoocash:
Can I transport some Tubers of Yam as one of the checking bags inside plane ?
