Danwakae: ALSO MONEY RITUAL, IS IT PART OF THE YORUBA CULTURE AND ADULTERY, COS WHEN I WAS IN IB, I AM NOT SURE IF I DID'T FVCK UR MUM OR WIFE OR GIRLFRIEND.
I AM FROM THE NORTH, OLO' OSHI...DAN ISKA Then you are most probably a northern bastard fathered by a captured Biafran soldier who quickly had to pass on his genes before being beheaded by his captors, hence the reason why he fvcked/raped the nearest blind, leprosy infested, ijab wearing northern peasant(your mother) hereby bringing another abomination into this world(you). PS. OLOSHI is a nickname I'm gifting you, but 'DAN ISKA' isn't that meant to be your surname. |

Culture › Re: As A Nigerian-american, I Would Like Insight On Which Language To Learn by Jyde89: 11:43am On Apr 08, 2019 |
Opiletool: As for that question, Yes they do in Lagos where I reside. However, there was a thread created by a guy who was frustrated at the fact that igbo people don't speak the language like yoruba speak theirs. He pointed out several instances. You will find the thread here, it was created not quite long (I think this year).
Also, during my NYSC, I nearly had a scuffle with one of my Corps member over this issue of language. I served in a yoruba state, she was posted to the same school that I was serving. She and some other corps often complain that we Yorubas speak our language too often, and that it isn't the case in the east. I got angry not because she was totally wrong, but because she saw it as a bad thing, and bragged that igbo people speak English more than they do their language. Then I wondered why she should bragged of such? I thought she was being mischievous because when in the midst of Igbo people, they often speak in their mother tongue, until I came across the thread, and realised that she wasn't entirely lying. Albeit the way she bragged about it got me pissed of. It's a shameful thing. Some Yorubas are also like that, preventing their kids from speaking the language, my sister is guilty of this. I have preached the beauty of being bi or multilingual to her, all to no avail. Her kids can hardly say two words in yoruba, which shouldn't be. But I'm sure they will learn when they grow up. My elder sis did the same thing with her children until they came for a 1months holiday in our house, the only thing we did was converse with them in Yoruba even when they spoke English and that alone ensured they went back home being able to speak Yoruba to a certain degree, now they are experts in Yoruba and they didn't lose the ability to speak English. It's like an unwritten taboo in my family for our children not to be able to converse in our dialect. |

Politics › Re: Why Tinubu’s Dynasty May Not Crash Anytime Soon - By Abdullah Abdulganiy by Jyde89: 1:09pm On Apr 06, 2019 |
KwoiZabo: I don't blame Tinubu, I blame people like the writer (who are so many with us here in Lagos) for making Tinubu Powerful. Another thing that makes tinubu powerful is that many Yorubas think/know that if Tinubu's dynasty fails, it will open Lagos political space and allow "non-indigenes" to have a greater say in Lagos politics, so Tinubu is a rallying point. Talking about, IGR and development, Lagos has performed averagely. I can count 10 stets that has performed better than Lagos since the return to democracy. Lagos is the dirtiest state, has the worst roads etc the only thing that works for lagos and makes its IGR high is (1) Its location, (2) its the defunct capital of the country - FG left massive infrastructure like Ports (Sea & Air), Bridges (3rd Mainland etc), Stadiums, National theatre, Housing Estates, Buildings (braod street) etc. No state can boast of all these. (3) Security - I must give this to the yorubas, they are Peaceful unlike the North and NigerDelta.
Tinubu's Dynasty will end very soon - latest2027 And when it ends, what will happen, you guys will take over Lagos abi; keep dreaming |

I blame our movie industry for not telling this stories, but then again they'll need huge funds to excavate such stories and give it life which I'm not sure they have. I hope one day I'll be rich enough to make movies like this, a single movie will never be enough to tell the history of Nigerian music, we'll need to make it into a television series. |

OyinO: Allow the soldier to collect and go. You Nigerian bloody civilians lack respect and special treatment for service personnel of the Armed Forces especially Army. These guys sacrifice everything to keep you safe, then you come and be dragging chance to collect money from ATM with such a fellow who lay down his life to let you have peace. Some soldiers are on duty. They take permission to come to town and withdraw cash so as to give to their family at home and return to duty post. Then you want him to remain standing with you. Also, the security risk of Ostanding unarmed in present day Naija is huge. Though, one single slap is enough instead of faxing the man as if he's a criminal. That's quite too much for the gravity of offence committed. Then he should have asked politely, mind you no body forced them to become a soldier and we all are contributing our quoter to ensure the peace of Nigeria one way or the other, their service to the nation shouldn't be a yardstick to maltreat the people they swore an oath to protect. If the army is becoming too much of a trauma they can always quit. |
