If Atiku wins PDP ticket and Tinubu wins APC ticket, Atiku will win the election before 12pm on Election Day.

Tinubu who worked against GEJ, a southern president, in 2015, will never benefit from the votes of the south.

Southeast and Southsouth would rather vote dead Shekau than Tinubu.

oilPUSSY:
resh hurdles for Abdulahi Adamu as defunct legacy parties kick

By Clifford Ndujihe, Henry Umoru & Omeiza Ajayi

Some top shots of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have faulted reports that an unwritten agreement and understanding among founders of the party in 2013 ceded the 2023 presidential ticket of the party to the South-West geo-political zone.

One of the bigwigs, who played crucial roles in the formation of the APC, and in the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari at the party’s presidential primaries in Lagos in 2014 and the election proper in 2015, said: “Nothing like that happened. There was no meeting whatsoever to talk about ceding power to the South-West.”

Another top shot of the party spoke in like manner, adding that it is difficult to tell if President Buhari would back the South-West to produce his successor, even if such an agreement was ever reached, adding, “we don’t know who will succeed President Buhari, but we know those who will not succeed him.”

Meanwhile, two days to the March 26 national convention, the ruling party is still mired in disagreement over the zoning of positions and which part of the country should produce its presidential candidate for the 2023 poll.

Although the party hierarchy agreed recently that the North and South should swap positions in 2023, which means the South should produce the President while the North produces party national chairman, there are still clamour for the seat to be thrown open.

Zoning formula causes a stir

Also, at a time many party faithful had bought nomination forms, based on the zoning formula party stakeholders agreed, for which the APC had generated N700 million as of press time, there is disquiet in many states over zoning and adoption of some aspirants as consensus candidates.

In the South-East, the Abia State chapter of the APC kicked against the adoption of Henry Ikoh as consensus candidate for National vice chairman, South-East, by some Abia leaders.

Abia APC Publicity Secretary, Mr Okey Ezeala said there is no iota of truth in the adoption of Ikoh as consensus national vice chairman, South-East because “the position of National vice chairman, South-East is not zoned to Abia State. It was zoned to Imo State. What is zoned to Abia is National Welfare Secretary. Abia State APC exco and stakeholders have unanimously nominated F.M. Nwosu as consensus candidate for national welfare secretary. That was why major chieftains of the party in Abia, which include General Ogbonnaya Okoro, General Chinedu Abraham, and Gen Charles Nwogbe accompanied him to the APC national secretariat to collect the nomination form. He is the one the APC in Abia State is supporting.”

3 aspirants challenge Omisore for national scribe

The hope of Senator Iyiola Omisore to become the consensus candidate for the office of National Secretary hung in the balance, yesterday, as three other chieftains of the party joined the race.

Seen as the candidate of National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, there have been reported attempts by some governors in the zone to get other critical stakeholders to endorse Senator Omisore.

Documents sighted by Vanguard, yesterday, showed that two aspirants have emerged from Oyo State to challenge Omisore. Oyo has been making a case to have the office micro-zoned to her since it currently does not have an APC governor. The two aspirants from Oyo are a former Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu; and Professor Olaiya Abideen Olaitan. There is another contender from Ondo State, Engr. Ife Oyedele of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited.

PoliticsRe: Osinbajo Suspended Official Meetings To Allow Muslims Observe Solat – Saidu by jyz200(m): 7:15am On Mar 23, 2022
okefranci:
Dr Balkisu Saidu, the Senior Special Assistant on Legal, Research and Compliance, Office of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), says the Professor of Law is a practising Christian who respects practising Muslims.

Saidu said the VP at various times have had to suspend official meetings especially in the afternoon to allow Muslims working with him say their prayers.

She stated this in response to a viral article Professor Farooq Kperogi.

She said, “Malam, I urge for caution please. One who spreads lies attracts the same blame from Almighty Allah as the one who concocted the lies. Do not allow yourself to get involved in politicians’ conscienceless smear campaign.

“As you know, I have worked with Prof. Osinbajo for several years. I can assure you that he scares his antagonists because he is a fair, just and upright leader.

“He (Osinbajo) is a leader who makes it a standard policy to suspend meetings to enable us, the Muslims, say our prayers. He, from his own pocket, ensures that in every Ramadan, meals are prepared and brought to us in our offices for Iftar.

“He (Osinbajo) is a practising Christian who respects practising Muslims. I have never, not once, seen or heard him passed aspersions on anyone based on the religion s/he practices. He is as comfortable with me in my full hijab as he is with my colleagues who dress differently.

“He (Osinbajo) is one who, when it comes to appointments, will insist on review of and compliance with enabling laws, especially Federal Character. His position, as he has stated publicly, is that there is no part of this country that does not have qualified people of proven integrity. Please ignore politicians and their paid agents.”

PoliticsRe: Tinubu @ 70 Visit: Sowore, Others Berate Ex-Eagles Stars by jyz200(m): 6:28am On Mar 22, 2022
adenigga:
A presidential aspirant under the platform of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, and some section of Nigerians have berated former Super Eagles players following their visit to former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The ex-internationals, which included Nwankwo Kanu, Austin Okocha, Victor Ikpeba and Taribo West, on Saturday met with Tinubu at his Ikoyi home, ahead of a novelty football match, which was played on Sunday at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium in Lagos State to mark Tinubu’s 70th birthday.

In videos and pictures that went viral, Taribo, who has turned pastor, was captured fervently praying for Tinubu.

The ex-AC Milan defender prayed for the restoration of Nigeria to its rightful place via Tinubu.

However, the retired footballers action stirred reactions on different social media platforms.

Sowore, in a post on his verified Facebook and Instagram accounts, described the former players’ visit to the APC presidential aspirant as a shame and one driven by hunger.

Sowore said, “Hunger is a bastard! JJ Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Victor Ikpeba, Taribo West, and other ex-Super Eagles players paid Tinubu a visit today to endorse him.

“I used to think Victor Ikpeba was a smart person! Shame on these ex-soccer Super Eagles players! Imagine sending them to play for Nigeria as a team in the World Cup after they’ve expired?”

The retired footballers, made up largely of the class of 1994 and the Atlanta ’96 Olympics gold medallists, had equally paid a visit to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State last year, prior to a novelty match between the state executive council team and the combined sets of the 1994 and 1996 Eagles at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.

At that time, there were insinuations that the Kogi Governor was gearing up to contest for the seat of Nigeria’s president in 2023.

Sowore, in reference to the former footballers’ visits to Bello and Tinubu, added, “Like Judas Iscariot, Hunger is a bastard! Hunger has betrayed Taribo West and his fellow ex-Super Eagles con men. It is just so sad! That a group of patriots could be moving from one derelict political thief to another just to get peanuts and crumbs. It is a shame!”

Japheth Omojuwa wrote, “It doesn’t look like Taribo got Kanu and Okocha’s consent about the putting their blood in line bit. They looked up like, “when did we agree to this? Over syllabus.”

A Twitter user with the name @ynature84 mocked the former defender making reference to his prophecy on the former American president, Donald Trump.

“Pastor Taribo that said Trump will win election…omo Tinubu self dey look am with bad eye like don’t make me be like Trump,” he tweeted.

Another Twitter user with the same @kemawilly said, “So because of $30,000, JJ Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo want put themselves this low before Nigerians?”

Enebeli Sam wrote, “How much Tinubu want to give people like Kanu and Okocha that will make them go and embarrass themselves like that …how much?”

PoliticsRe: Religion: Who Will Succeed Tinubu After 8 Years? by jyz200(m): 12:07pm On Mar 21, 2022
Penguin2:
As Tinubu proponents continue to try to market Tinubu’s ambition to naysayers, one of the greatest hurdles standing in his way right now is his religion.

The argument is that it will be insensitive to the yearnings and feelings of Nigerian Christians for Tinubu who is a Muslim to succeed a Muslim Buhari.

But even if we were to overlook that, another question is who would be his Vice? Northern political and religious stakeholders have made it clear that the region cannot be represented by a Christian being that they are predominantly Muslims. So if Tinubu must garner votes from the north, he must choose just another Muslim from the north as Vice. That would be a Muslim/Muslim ticket and if they succeed, they are likely to rule for 8 years. Now, when you add Buhari’s 8 years, that would 16 years of Muslim rule in Nigeria.

Then comes the question of who would be Tinubu’s successor after his likely 8 years in 2031 supposing he was to win 2023. Going by zoning, power would naturally return north and the north being predominantly Muslim would naturally prop up a Muslim to take their slot. Supposing he too were to be victorious at the polls, he would go for another 8 years as is guaranteed by the constitution, right? Now, add Buhari’s 8 years to Tinubu’s 8 years to Tinubu’s northern successor’s 8 years, that would amount to 24 years of Muslim rulership in Nigeria.

These are not conjectures, they are facts as they are.

Now, does it make sense that Nigeria, a country of diverse people and religion would have 24 years of people from same religion being in charge? Is that how national cohesion and social integration would be built and cemented? Will Muslims be comfortable to have such long years of Christian rulership without causing social chaos?

So, even as it’s Tinubu’s constitutional right to aspire for the presidency, and even as we might give him credit, to an extent, for being the first engineer of the new Lagos which demonstrates his capacity, his ambition, if it succeeds, would disrupt a lot of social order and glue that holds the entity and union called Nigeria together.

To avert such disruption, it is therefore imperative that Tinubu realizes the near impossibility of the materialization of his ambition and supports a Christian Southerner to succeed Buhari rather than continue to pursue a futile ambition.

Penguin is a bird of reason!

If you are to talk about religion, is it only Christian and Muslim that are in Nigeria, we have other religions too
How about tribe
We have hundreds of ethnic groups in Nigeria yet the presidency has be rotate among the few major ones
If you are to argue about religion then you can’t rule out tribes also

PoliticsRe: Ebonyi And Osun Expose The Hypocrisy Of Igbo And Yoruba Nationalism by jyz200(m): 9:42am On Mar 21, 2022
ZombieNation:
Nigeria was united in squandering the wealth of the Niger Delta since the end of the civil war. That saying that oil is the glue that united Nigeria holds true. But since 1999 and return of democracy, Niggerians are more united in their marxist project ever more through debt.

Take a look at Osun and Ebonyi in the South and tell me how these basket case states can envision an independent future without the feeding bottle from a powerful centrist nanny state.

Note that the clamour for an independent Odua state led by Sunday Igboho never made any strides in Osun with leading politicians and their traditional rulers (notably the Emir of Iwo) outrightly rejecting any talk of an independent yoruba nation.

If you cross the Niger, you have Umahi making it clear that any talk of seccesion or an Igbo independent nation is dead on arrival. Umahi hinged his conclusion on the fact that Ebonyians are beta Igbos and would face serious marginalization in an Independent Igbo nation .

For whatever reasons , Osun and Ebonyi people and their leaders spout to oppose Nigeria's breakup they will also extend to a call to a return to true federalism.

To understand why, one must see that both these two states are the poorest in the South as well as the most indebted .

Their call for unity is hinged on their parasitic state and indebtedness which depend on oil receipts from the Niger Delta to keep themselves afloat.

This is what I warned here about the APC's incessant borrowings and that other than serving as an avenue for massive looting it also serves to keep all states committed to the parasitic quasi-Marxist centrist arrangement.

Nigeria is now united in debt. The Fulanis have really played a fast one again. This is why every useless loan application from states requesting for federal guareanttee is quickly approved by the Fulani Bolsheviks.
You wrote rubbish and you’re happy
Osun is not the poorest state in south west
