U need 1> OBD diagnostic tool, that tells you what happens . Car are computerized now . A 2015 S class has about 42 computers .

3> It's all nuts and bolts . Hardest part is figuring out what's wrong with the car , easiest part is swapping the parts .
Your road side mechanic is not up to date with latest technologies . Even us here can't keep up, European cars are 5-7yrs ahead of Japanese. It's all computers now bro

Dude has managed to topple PDP with his Party, A party that started with one state grew to a regional power and its about to capture the presidency. WOOOW.. Jonathan and his PDP crew made this look so easy. If APC captures the presidency, Jagaban will go down in history as the most strategic Elder statesman this country has ever seen, even better than Awolowo.
Damn, Honestly, i am very impressed. I am not a fan of tinubu but as a chess player, you have to admire all his moves from fashola to Osibanjo.

I changed this wire mesh in my Cerato twice, on the third time my panel beater adviced me to remove it and add normal pipe. And ever since no wahala with it.

Thats a flex pipe. You do not change it. When you accelerate and slow down, your engine moves and thats supposed to stop your exhaust from not moving. It is the same concept as having shock absorbers in your car. Put it back bro or save money to buy a new exhaust pipe. There is a reason for every part in a car, nothing absoloutely nothing is there for a joke. Guys, this is ur investment, protect it.

Its all about suspension layout. You cant compare Mercedes multilink suspension with Honda and toyota Mcpherson strut. You get what you pay for .
You have to drive mercedes, audi and BMW to come to the conclusion that mercedes is built to kill.
BMW designs beautiful exteriors e.g Angel eyes, Hofmeister kink which every automaker copies.
Audi Design Beautiful Interiors, A6C6 interior is still a benchmark even though its 10 yrs old.
Mercedes- Radical design, does not age gracefully because of too much lines in it..
People that love to drive, drive bimmers, People with attention to detail and quality craftmanship drive Audi and if you love to be driven, you drive Mercedes. This is how the cookie crumbles

No body designs interior like Audi , No one comes close.. The attention to detail is amazing.
Mine has been very reliable, i got to say. 4 Control arms have been replaced, starter and usual maintenance. still bullet proof and drives like murda. I call her Giselle.

So, if the previous owner used it for 2 years without changing the oil, he should not bother since the engine is "bullet-proof", he should only bother to check suspension, right?

Ahhh, If there is something I know about Nigerians, they love their oil changes... Using wrong grade of oil? Likely but no oil change , I doubt that .

Thanks for the help. I reside in Ghana and we do have two grades of fuel over here SUPER(Normal Fuel) & VPOWER (Performance Fuel) which is more expensive. I guess the performance fuel is same as premium fuel and that is what I buy now but I don't see any difference. It was the same mileage I got with super that I got with the performance fuel.

As for traffic, my daily commute doesn't have any serious traffic. The worst traffic I find here is not as bad as the ones in Port Harcourt let alone Almighty Lagos traffic. So I don't think that should have any serious effect. I'm not expecting the actual 18/23mpg at least due to the age of the car, but not 8.8 Thats totally ridiculous.

Any more suggestions are very much welcome.

Change the oxygen sensor and observe differences in the mpg

Anything can cause bad MPG..
Underinflated tires , clogged airfilter , no thermostat (most nigerians ), traffic with AC on .
So many reasons and moreover bad 02 sensor will most likely throw a code

If it's for the Missus, she'll prefer the FX but all things being equal, the G35 will be a better choice maintenance cost wise.
For checks, concentrate on condition of the engine, everything else is moin moin if issues arise.

The VQ engine are bulletproof .
Don't bother with it
Check the CV shaft and suspension.
Suspension is big in Nigeria Cus of bad road, linkages, shock absorbers , brakes .
Those are important and how the tenant shifts.
Nissan power train are very good.
Owned them for the past 10years.
