More often times mercenaries perform better than the regular army...!! They were effective in Ukraine because the Russian government provided them with aircraft, tanks, artillery and air defense systems. They don't have all that in Mali. |

Floky215: Rest in pieces in advance to the azawad terrorist...!!! Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. Besides a PMC does not have the resources of a regular army. It don't see how they can effectively respond if you don't have the resources. This is not the Russian army in Syria. |

But Ara is my favorite. I don't like double cab versions for MRAPs Do you remember where we're coming from? The first Igirigi APC that was launched by President GEJ. Man, I just wish our economy was where it used to be also, these developments on the military side would have been even more magnificent. This Hulk from Proforce reminds me of a Russian APC used by the Russian national guard. |

Faithful007: Lol look at who is calling me uninformed. Like T.F. do you know about US armed services and federal law enforcement? Who are you to argue with me over knowledge I built over decades?
Now listen, so you don’t keep going off on what you don’t know. There are no specific set of of agents attached to protected. Agents are rotated very often. Secondly as a protectee you can ask the secret service for specific requirements whether male or female agents, depending on the circumstances. Thirdly (which is the case here), all agents on the field that day are participating in the investigation. Both the male and the female ones. Mind you that females are not a common sight in the secret service so it’s not rare to see them all male. Besides, Trump might have requested an all male team for sentimental reasons.
USSS will never drop anybody without an investigation. Internet rhetoric by your likes is crap. I showed you videos (Which obviously you didn’t watch) of trained former agents and a former marine making analysis and praising the actions of the close protection, but I honestly must believe a random guy idiot like you knows better. You must think CP will allow Trump to stand if the Counter Sniper Team did not give the report that threat was neutralized?
You think you can asses the actions of trained personnel from random videos. Ordinarily common sense should tell you that action pictures may confuse detail. The CP team were bending to access his health condition and wait for instructions from CS & CT and Extraction. You don’t know that cause you don’t know anything about Close protection. You have no training on close protection yet you are bodily appraising people with training. You must be right while all of the former agents are wrong.
Respectfully just shut the f**k up on stuff you don’t know. What sort of tomfoolery is this? There's a clear difference between yesterday's team and the team filled with incompetent women who couldn't holster their weapons and were docking while their principal was getting shot. This is a fact!!! Facts don't care about your feelings. You can continue to act dumb and foolish as is common with you. |

Faithful007: Before Trump was shot, they didn’t know anything about close protection. After Trump was shot, in a matter of minutes, they know everything about close protection including who is wrong and right. All the knowledge proudly gained from random idiots on Twitter who have no experience.
I follow a lot of professional close protection companies on YouTube and IG. Many are doing technical review and analysis of the videos currently.
Go and watch professional people talk and stop posting nonsense right wing rhetoric here and thinking that you’re making sense. Imagine someone who supposedly knows about close protection is thinking that large body size is a criteria. As if we’re recruiting club bouncers. An ordinary 9mm at reasonable range will leave an exit wound hitting anyone who directly is behind the first body mass. You sound uneducated and hopelessly uninformed. This is a military and defence thread, there have been multiple pictures and discussions of close protection discussion on this thread. Don't act dumb!! The simple fact that the multiple women were replaced with tall men as fast as yesterday is is clear evidence you have no clue what you're talking about. The response to the assassination attempt on Trump is what we're have been discussing. Your constant deviation to what could have been done to prevent it is irrelevant to this discussion. Understand this and the point most knowledgeable people are talking about, the fact is the women in Trump's protection detail were mostly clueless. Yes, close protection requires individuals that are tall and fit, to provide adequate protection to their principals. Nobody is talking about bodybuilder or muscular people, jeez!!! You sound like a nincompoop!! In the event that he was seriously wounded and lost mobility, how many of those clueless women could have carried him off ? Secret Service agents docking from shots!

jl115: Agree!! world has become to focused on "equality" rather than Merit Did you see his Close protection Details from last night? Not everything should be seen through the prism of men versus women or Gender based requirements. A woman can never make a better law enforcement officer than a man, especially in roles that are hands on and require split second decision making. I'm sure women excel in Analytics and intelligence roles, but combat roles won't be one of them. |

Women have their strengths and talents, active duty law enforcement, especially close protection is not one of them.

Faithful007: You could have passed your point without being misogynistic. It is unnecessary and its not even factual. The snipers on the roof that were meant to spot the threat were all men. Secret service protection is divided into Close protection (the guys on suits) and Counter Assault (The guys on tactical black wear with police inscription). It is was not the job of CPT to take out that attacker. Perimeter scanning and protection is CAT work and they failed to do it.
Also note that CPT work is not pretty. This isn't an action movie. It usually looks a bit disorganized but the job is clear, take the principal to safety, the CP did just that, as much Trump was also being Trump. Go and watch Fico's close protection team and see how they looked as he was being taken to safety. And again yes, they were all men. It's not factual that the the women CPD were not shorter than Trump? It's not factual that the woman couldn't holster her weapon properly? Is not factual that the ladies looked disorganized despite been trained for situations like this? I'm referring to the close protection detail and you're going on a totally irrelevant rant. I'm saying that the women could not properly protect their principal, this is a fact!!! Did you see the Reagan assassination attempt? Close protection is not for women that are short, and cannot respond in situations that they're supposedly trained for. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by kabe1: 6:43pm On Jul 14, 2024 |
Should women be close protection details?
The performance of the women in Trump's protection detail were sub-par.
They were short, the lady in the picture below couldn't holster her weapon, tried 3 times and failed.
They looked confused, seemed mostly tensed and were concerned about sunglasses.
We see a growing trend in militaries and various security agencies hiring women, we've seen this trend in Nigeria and in the military, but is that the way to go?
