There's no visual evidence showing Iran has downed any Israeli fighter.

In this round Israel has taken Iran to the cleaners. The Iranian response has been all media hype and no substance.

This shows why an excellent Air Force is critical for defence. If you're not Russia, Ground Based Ballistic Missiles have their limitations.

So much for their so called best air defence system Iron dome, they still have to rely on allied protection of their airspace. Anyways, all is fair in love and war.

Russia cannot protect Iran, only diplomatically anyway. Russia has very close ties with Israel. Roman Abrahamovich, the billionaire former owner of Chelsea is Jewish. Russia also has one of the world's largest Jewish populations.

So, it's not that simple. Besides with the high intensity war in Ukraine, the Russians need the resources themselves. There's really not much they can do.

China will not intervene in a war abroad, they are passive. The Chinese have built their military around security and facing the US in the Indo Pacific region and Taiwan. The Chinese will only help Iran diplomatically.

Israel on the order hand have security guarantees with the US. The US never fights alone, the British will tag along.

On this situation it's difficult to fault Israel attacks on Iran and Iran's right to defend itself.

I think there could be a descalation, but Iran has been severely bruised.

In 2025, we've seen the following;

Russia vs Ukraine
Rwandan vs DRC
India vs Pakistan
Israel vs Iran

Nope, the Iranians launched over 100 ballistic missiles, only 7 confirmed impacts so far.

Iran does not really have what it takes. The combined efforts of the Americans, Jordanians, British and Israelis halted most of the damage.

Israel bombed and killed the Iranian nuclear sites, Air Defence Systems, the head of Irans revolutionary guards, the head of Iran's air defense forces and nuclear scientists.

The losses for Iran are very considerable compared to their response.

They actually do have good ballistic missiles. According to some reports Iran has fired 280 Ballistic Missiles at Israel.

I have seen drone drop and FPVs used in Sudan.

I have also seen FPVs used in Mexico.

It's gradually creeping in.

If Israel attacks Russia, the Russians have the capabilities to respond with a more devastating attack, that's not the case with Iran.

10 units of F-7NI were sent to China for upgrades.

1 x unit was upgraded in Nigeria.

China sent back 10 units and gifted Nigeria 1 more F-7. Sadly the two seater F-7NI that was gifted to Nigeria has crashed.

Yes, Nigeria has a Leonardo MRO center for Leonardo helicopters. The service center is at Caverton helicopters.

The President's AW-139 was refurbished and returned back to service at the center.

2 x AW-109 Trekkers for the Navy that were recently inducted into service were also upgraded at the facility.

When the Nigerian Air Force ordered the F-7NI in 2005, they were meant to be a stop gap, that was 20 years ago.

While the F-7NI recently completed deep Mid-life upgrades (MLU) in 2022, it's glory days are well behind us. The Nigerian ordered 3 x JF-17s to complement the F-7's and have now opted for 24 x M346FA to perform it's multi role functions.

This leaves us lacking in Air guard, Air Policing and Air Defence.

The Air Force recognizes their's an Air Defence gap to fill, for this reason they have now launched an Air Defence Tender competition.

However this is for Ground Based Air Defence Systems.

It seems as though we will be stuck with the F-7NI & JF-17 for another 15 years at least.

The J-10CE has recently proven it's capabilities in combat and the program is 40 years old. A mature aircraft we can consider to replace the F-7 when the time finally arrives.

The F-7NI has been service with the Nigerian Air Force for the past 22 years. The Aircrafts have recently under-gone a Mid-life Upgrade.

Primarily used as an interceptor, the aircraft also conducts Air Interdiction and CAP.
