I Don't think so. Once it comes up, it remains on. All lights on the dashboard usually come up the moment the ignition is turned on and they fade off once the engine starts. If the "Maint Reqd" comes up and remain, it will remain on until the car is serviced. Even after service the light will go off after about 30 min drive.

I have this 1999 Honda Accord (Baby boy). I have spent a lot of money on the AC system on different technicians.Tracing the tube, even changing compressor but yet the gas still leaks away within three months tops. Abeg i need expert advice on the matter o!

There is this equipment, I have forgotten the name, at the right hand side in front of the passenger seat just under the safe (internal). I have used Honda 1999 and have had similar experience. Infact, mine used to leak out within days. But it is somewhat expensive. Once u describe this location and the problem to a good ac technician, he will know what I'm talking about.

If u want better service, go for dstv but at a reduced cost, gotv is the best option. Note, Multichoice controls both channels.
Just the way u know that road and air a means of transport just that one is faster than the other and at the same time one is also cheaper. There must be a trade-off. No free lunch anywhere, even in Heaven.

My own problem is not even their yeye bonanza or gift or whatever they call it. I bought it cos with less, u have more channels compared with dstv in which getting a full subscription is more expensive than getting a new set-up. But, I later discovered that dstv is the original while gotv is the "China" version. Quality is always better than quantity.

I am by no means a car expert, just a gal who enjoys reading about cars and learning from this forum. However, I know enough to know that the above is terrible advice. I am not certain that the dashboard tells you when an oil change is due! It will indicate low oil pressure and tell you when a service is due. 2 totally different things! Besides, the OP did not say what type of vehicle he has, how do you know if he has a newer vehicle with modern electronics?

@ OP -
Most people would do an oil change either based on mileage or time. I use synthetic oil and change my oil (and filter) every 5000 miles or 3 months.

Not exactly bro.
First, I don't think the car model is of any significance as long as it is among the relatively latest cars (98-till date). Secondly, the dash board is an invaluable means through which u can check that. The yellow light (in most cars) which shows "Maint Reqd" is not there for fashion. Whenever it comes up, it is actually telling you that ur car is due for servicing (filter and oil change). Thirdly, as part of driving skills, it is a good practice to always check the oil guage every morning b4 starting the car. What u check are the oil level and colour. Very low level suggests top up is required (symptom of fault in the engine) while very black colour suggests that servicing is required.

Very true. I was approached at the departure hall sometimes back by one of these BDC agents. He was asking me if I had purchased Dollars at the counter. From my little interaction with him, what I discovered was that there is a provision for each traveller to purchase a maximum of $4k at the official rate and he wanted to use my travelling document to buy some for himself although with a promise of paying me about 80k for that and since I wasn't aware of the likely implication, I declined.

About a month ago, Egypt Airlines operating in Nigeria accepted Naira but I made enquiries just yesterday about their fares and I was shocked to hear that they no longer accept Naira but Dollars. The meaning is that if I must travel with them, I must just get the Dollars which will put pressure on the Naira. Other airlines accept Naira but Egypt seems to be the cheapest when they accept payment in Naira.
