Two brothers, who allegedly strangled their father are to cool their heels in prison until November, a Kano Chief Magistrates’ Court ruled on Wednesday.

The duo of Rabiu Adamu, 27, and Auwal Adamu, 26, had strangled their 55-year-old father, Adamu Gamji, in Sumaila Local Government Area of Kano, the prosecution said.

The accused pleaded not guilty.

Chief Magistrate Muhammad Jibril, who gave the order, the accused should remain in prison until next date of adjournment.

As the founder of political communications agency StateCraft Inc, Williams worked on the campaign that got Goodluck Jonathan elected to the Nigerian presidency in 2011.
Four years later he provided his services for the successful election campaign for Jonathan’s rival, current President Muhammadu Buhari.
Then, completing his hat trick, he worked on the communication strategies that helped secure the election of Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo in 2016.
Now Williams has now co-written a book, “How to win elections in Africa,” detailing his techniques.
So what’s his advice for wining an African election? His strategy sounds simple: brush up the presidential candidate’s image and, crucially, bolster his popularity among the youth.
Using media for change — and elections
Williams attributes his success with StateCraft Inc. to his understanding of the youth market.
“Where we have an edge is that we’re young people, and we’ve worked with young people for 12 years,” he says. “We understand how young people in Africa think, we understand the key issues.”
That understanding has come from building a media empire that goes beyond StateCraft.
Along with business partner Chude Jideonwo, in 2006 he founded Red Media Africa, a corporate PR and communication company based in Nigeria, which has worked with the likes of Facebook, Uber and Intel.
Through parent company Red, they also own content brand Generation Y!, which runs a number of Nigerian media platforms, as well as The Future Project, a social enterprise that celebrates outstanding young Africans through its annual Future Awards.
“We work to change narratives, to shape opinion, to drive a common good and provoke action,” says Williams. “So that is a journey — using media for change and using media for elections.”
From an early age, Williams was desperate to be on television, and at the age of 17 he landed his first gig co-presenting a TV show, “Youth Talk,” on Nigeria’s national NTA Network.

A 25-year-old man, Ibrahim Usman,was on Monday sentenced to six months in jail by the karmo grade 1 area court Abuja for stealing a purse.

The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, however, gave the convict N10, 000 option of fine.

The kidnap suspects were killed by the police detectives attached to the Special Anti -Robbery Squad, while rescuing their victim, one Mr.Nnamdi Ibru.

A week before Babangida, 23, was to travel from Lagos to Zaria, where he was seeking admission at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), his life changed for the worse.

Babangida’s mother, Hajiya Hassana Ali, narrated how her son made friends with a girl who came to live with their neighbours. The girl, Abiodun, is a relative of their neighbour’s wife, who had recently put to bed.

From the beginning, Abiodun would send Babangida on errands and later they started going to places together. When Hajiya Hassana noticed how Abiodun sometimes insulted him, she advised her son to stay away from her. And he did. After a certain period, they started getting close again but when Babangida noticed his mother’s displeasure, he kept his distance from Abiodun, again.

Mr.Nwoye told State House correspondents on Friday in Abuja that his political party was not worried by Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)’s threat to frustrate the election.

The APC candidate, who was earlier presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by Bauchi governor Mohammed Abubakar, who is the Chairman, National Campaign Council of the APC for the Anambra governorship election, urged the electorate to ignore the threat.

“We are not afraid of the threat. Our youths are unemployed; people are wailing and crying. These are the symptoms of what you are seeing now.

“Our people are seeing reasons why there should be elections.

“Some of them, who may have been brainwashed, are being engaged to see reasons why they should allow people to elect leaders of their choice,” he said.

He promised to run a transparent government that would focus on fighting poverty, if elected, and accused the incumbent government of siphoning monies meant for development.

Nwoye also promised to pay special attention to agriculture, education and other key sectors that would create jobs and engage youths in meaningful ventures.
