Politics › Re: 2023: Why Amaechi Will Be Apc’s Best Candidate; Thicks All Boxes. by kabukabu50(m): 8:45pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
Penguin2: I’m not going to bore you with long epistle. I will be concise and straight to the point.
So one of the presidential hopefuls for the 2023 general election is the Honorable Minister of Transport, Rt Hon. Chibuike Romtimi Amaechi (though he has not declared).
Some have speculated he might be Buhari’s secret candidate especially with his recent turbaning by the Daura Emirate.
Now, away from secret candidate and turbaning, let me enumerate for you, why the man Amaechi might be APC’s most suitable candidate for 2023.
1. HE IS A FOUNDATION MEMBER One of the arguments that some supporters of some certain interest in APC has always used against some presidential aspirants like David Umahi and Orji Uzor Kalu, is that these men are not foundation members of the party but just defected when they saw the party had won power. To them, those men do not qualify to sick APC ticket while some other people that laboured to build the party and financed it will be deprived of it. Well, that argument won’t work on Amaechi because Amaechi was the leader of the 5 PDP governors that joined APC then as New-PDP. Not only did he join the APC, it is believed that he also made a lot of financial commitments and has twice been the Director General of the party’s presidential campaigns. So, whatever stake that any interest in APC claims to have, Amaechi equal has it and that is non-contestible.
2. HE ANSWERS FOR SOUTHSOUTH CLAMOUR TO COMPLETE THEIR TENURE One of the distant voices that has been heard in the discourse of 2023, has been the fact that the Southsouth part of the country still has 4 years of its presidential tenure to complete since President Jonathan could not win re-election after 4 years of his original tenure. Although , like I said, this clamour may not have been as pronounced as many other clamours, but it has been made regardless and that is what an Amaechi presidency will answer to; since he is from the Southsouth .
3.THE CLAMOUR FOR IGBO PRESIDENCY As 2023 elections draw closer, one of the loudest and most valid agitation is that of Igbo presidency in general and Nigerian President of southeast extraction in particular. All Nigerians of conscience know that this agitation is valid, and for the continued peaceful coexistence of the Nigerian project, it is imperative that it is addressed. Now, that’s why Amaechi comes in. While somebody like Nyesom Wike has told the world he is not Igbo, Amaechi has consistently insisted that “nobody can deny me of my Igboness”. He has always adorned his traditional Isiagu dress when occasion allows it, in identification with his Igbo culture. Now, while Nigerians are skeptical about handing power over to an Igbo man from the southeast, such fears might not exist for Amaechi. Why?
Because an Igbo man of Southsouth has never gone through the denial, punishment, deprivations and subjugation that has been meted to the Igbo man of southeast. The implication is that the anger level in their hearts are different.
While the Igbo man of southeast might harbour resentment for the Nigerian state with desire for revenge, the Igbo man in southeast is likely not going to harbour resentment in his heart.
So, if the agitation for Igbo presidency is something that must be addressed, but the rest of Nigeria is skeptical about handing power over to a man from Southeast, the closest solution to the impasse is Amaechi.
With Amaechi, all that would have to be done is to conscientize with Ndigbo to settle for “Igbo Presidency” rather than insist on “Nigerian President of Southeast Extraction” and trust me it would sell.
4. AMAECHI IS DETRIBALIZED AND A BRIDGE BUILDER One of the most reoccurring arguments against most Igbo presidential aspirants is the fact that they are tribal and are not bridge builders. Well, not Amaechi; because I do not think there’s any part of Nigeria that has anything against Amaechi especially when it comes to tolerance for Nigerians of other ethnic groups. What am I even saying, there’s a ‘Rotimi’ in his name, Remember? Dude is even a Yoruba. Lol.
5. AGE One of the issues in the front burner of the 2023 political discourse is the fact that we need young, agile and capable people to occupy political positions. Yes. Aso Rock should not be converted to retirement home for old men to go and be resting their bones. At 57 years of age, Amaechi fits perfectly into that yardstick.
6. PROVEN RECORD OF ACHIEVEMENTS An unbiased assessment of the Buhari regime would throw up Rotimi Amaechi as one of, if not, the brightest and most performing ministers in the Buhari government. The transformation happening in the rail sector is visible to all Nigerians. But that’s not all, before he became minister, he was governor of Rivers State for 8 years and if you ask those who witnessed his administration in Rivers, they’d tell you he has been one of the best things to happen to Rivers state. So, aside that fact that an Amaechi presidency will answer to several other agitations and inerests, we are also going to be having a man with proven records of achievements in public service.
7. NO TAINT OF CORRUPTION “I don’t like money”. That is one of the most popular statements that has been made by Amaechi. While that may have been metaphorical and does not really translate to him being a saint, he seems to not have any case of financial malfeasance to his name so far despite how long he has been in public service. So if APC’s aim is to give Nigerians somebody who is not corrupt, then Amaechi is the man.
I promised it was not gonna be long but it did.
But there you have it. What are you going to add and what are you going to remove?
Penguin is a bird of reason! Your grammar is absolute rubbish. And fix your title, its "ticks" all the boxes not "thicks" God help whatever school you attended. |

rickleye: I'll be frank and not coy. You must be the dumbest woman on this forum. However, my senses are also telling me that the nonsense you dropped is just to seek out attention.
You have no idea what feminist means - equal opportunity for male and female. To them there are no male only roles and female only roles in society. What a man can do , I can do better - My response - You CAN"T.
" we are not created to provide but to process " No feminist says this. This is where you lose your diatribe. Then you quote the bible and mention Eve. Like she is the best example out there. Her husband gave her detailed instructions of what to do and not to do. Yet she couldn't keep and relay simple instructions.
You not subscribing women to bring anything is what makes women, illiterates - not being sent to school. if all they do is sit down at home waiting to be impregnated , or given money to make food , turn a house to a home.
I do not and will not be involved with a lady who doesn't think she can do more with her life than what you mentioned. She is to be a "helpmate" an assistant. Both contributing with their skills to the success of the union.
I can buy groceries and cook so why do I need you to process. I can adopt a child or get one through surrogacy, so why do I need you to process. I can stage a house and buy homely stuff, so why do I need you to process . When I get frustrated, I will go see a therapist, so lady why do i need you to process?
I do more than " bring the money" and when I decide to settle down - She better do more than "process"
Anyways, If you want to escalate your backward thinking to a voice call , I may be available. Nothing but facts |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Why Does US President Travel With So Many Soldiers and cars To other Countries? by kabukabu50(m): 7:39pm On Jan 27, 2022 |
God1000: We all know that US president is one of the most protected world leaders on earth, he travels to wherever he wants with armed security guards from US marines, FBI agents among other special forces.
US air force uses C-17 transport plane to carry the presidential limousine called the beast with several other vehicles to where he's going ahead of his arrival.
The Beast has 8-inch armor plating and five-inch thick bulletproof windows, and Kevlar reinforcement for the giant Goodyear tires that are also run-flat. The cabin is sealed for the outside world for protection against a chemical attack and special foam surrounds the fuel tank in case of an impact.
Do you know any other world leader that travels with such large number of security men?
Can our own president travel to US with armed Nigerian soldiers? Will they be allowed? Your medulla oblongata is very small hence your lack of common sense. Only Secret service protect the US president. No military allowed. All those bodyguards and plainclothes and armed guards are not military. Ode. |

executive12: $5000 per month is $60,000 a year. After all the deductions (health insurance, social security, State/City taxes, etc) you might be taking home less than $48,000. Then you take out your rent/mortgage, cars payment, then food, etc. At the end, not much left. And the rat race continues until retirement. It's not as easy as most Nigerians think. But I must admit that most Nigerians would be better off there. Because in Nigeria, they may not have any opportunities at all. Say you have $48,000. Rent-$1200 Food-$800 Car-$500 Miscellaneous-$500 That's $3000 a month. So your saving $1000 a month after all expenses and taxes. That's almost half a million naira. |

You pay for electricity in Nigeria and still pay for generator even if the light goes out. Not having running water in 2022 is primitive by any world standard. |

Bellerophon: Your ignorance is crass and repudiating! Throughout human civilization NO ANIMAL has proven more usefulness to humanity than our beloved canine friends! They have functioned as herders for our cattle, guides risking their lives sniffing out explosives and mines saving countless lives of our military and service men, emotional support for autistic children and patients with PTSD, a breathing alarm clock for diabetic patient to alert to any fall in their insulin levels, guides and support for the blind, protection and security of personal property and chattel, they even drag your lazy mass on sledges through snow acting as a facilitator of transportation, Do you forget their role in chasing and hunting prey with their trusted ally, the human hunter? Or their effort in assisting law enforcements on sniffing out cadaver and fugitive criminals? Not to forget their roles in circuses and famous Hollywood motion pictures? Is that a specie that deserves our cannibalism ?
The human is the closest and most important constituent of a dogs eco system! Domestication which is no way consensual has robbed them of their wild instincts and the ability to fend for themselves in isolation! Now after 33 thousand years of teaching them to look to us for survival and care in return for the many uses they in return repay us with and enumerated above, you think it is fair that they suddenly become an ingredient in culinary recipes? Turkeys and the many other animals we eat today have little or indecipherable emotional intelligence! They exist in an eco system where an over abundance of them burdens the balance of the system! There is no little or no interaction in the food chain between man and these animals we hunt for food! Same reason people just don’t kill and eat their cats! I'm proud to call you a Nigerian brother with common sense. Your intelligence is above the normal riff raff of common people who reside in this medium |
