Romance › Re: Marry For Compatibility, Not Love!!! by kadas01(m): 8:24pm On Oct 03, 2013 |
spicy v: So, I was part of a debate centered on the aforementioned topic and thought to share it with a wider public.
Some argued that in the days of our fathers (marriages in the early 70s and above) marriage was not on the basis of love but compatibility hence, the almost non existent divorce practice. Our parents married their partners because they were the right team mates; each member of the team understood their roles and thus came together with that understanding.
However, the new generation marry for love and that in itself is too insignificant a reason to choose to spend the rest of your life with another. And, this is why there are higher divorce rates!
Now, I wonder; was/is this really the case? Is love truly not strong enough to sustain a marriage? Is love not about sacrifices and accepting the entirety of another person? Is love not about adding value to another and assisting another to be all they are meant to be? If love is all of these, is it not strong enough to keep the couple together in the storm?
I also wonder, was it really compatibility that kept our parents together? Or was it the fear of the opinions of society? The stigma of divorce? And were they really happy? If they (especially the women) really had a choice, would they remain?
Your thoughts. Which is the most suitable reason for one to get married and which would sustain a marriage? Both "compatibility and love" should be the true basis for any marriage or union. |

Arsenate: How come we Nigerian men are cursed with some of the dumbest set of women on planet earth? What kinda dumbassss biaatches will prefer guys who treat them like scumms over those who treat them like ladies? Dumbaaaases. Its quite pathetic I must confess. Only few of them appreciate real guys!......Majority of them prefer to roll with riff raffs! |

TribalEAST: lack of good looks and confidence is what makes guys like them think so. Money can only buy sex out of which you wont be fulfilled after but getting love due to ur looks, either good or bad keeps you happy. Those naija gals craving for rides are only taking those guys for maga, though some marry them but not for love. Handsome guys will continue running the planet; evidence- hollywood, nollywood, bollywood, magazines etc. Gals are motivated by wat they see. So when they see someone that looks like wat they saw in a magazine or a movie, they admire, flirt subtly and fall for the guy, all these they do without considering his financial status if only he has confidence to match up.
so guys, get confidence atleast cos no be everything money dey solve.
Note : most gals that crave for cash and cars are runz gals. Real gals are achievers and independent as successful men.
Team handsome... Tnx a lot bro. |

bebe2: i was going from agbara to surulere, just before we got to mile 2 we stopped for traffic, then i saw a woman and a man fighting, i expected the man to beat the woman up but to my surprise he kept dodging the blows and was aiming for her handbag. the lady kept swinging and kicking the man but the man neva hit her back.
then i realized the man was an okada rider, the woman his passenger has refused to pay, dats why he wanted the hand bag.
i was so impressed, dats a REAL MAN.
my question is mainly for the quys, we know how ladies can push ur buttons but at wat point do u get physical wit them.
am not talking just wives and girl friends, i mean women in general. sisters, market women, neighbours etc. When do u crack and decide to use ur hands, after one hour of tongue lashing? after she slaps u, or after she pours u water
lets hear it. it is not best for a woman to act aggressively towards a man.......cos the man is suppose to serve as a guide nd protector to her at all times!......an ideal man should never raise his hands against a woman in whatever guise! |

nyere84: As for me, i dont touch handsome guys with a ten meter pole, i run as fast i can, away from handsome guys. I only admire and appreciate Gods work on them. But, will neva date them.
I prefer my man looking like a chimpanze with respect and good hrt for me. Most tyms, ugly guys treat women better, becos there are nt arrogant, nt carried away wit their looks.
Come to tink of it, most tyms, ugly guys knws hw to straff, more than the so called handsome guys. hmmmmm......point of correction, there r lots of handsome guys filled wit action!! |
