ladoshady: Thanks for your prompt response. We intended going to Dallas previously for the vacation but after cost and ease of movement considerations, we decided to go to New Jersey instead. How can I book the train ticket and how do I effect the payment or I don't need to make any payment yet? If you talking about the train, just go online and research, train ride shouldn't be more than $30 per trip per person, if you got yourself all planned out already, you could purchase a return trip ticket, would be cheaper Your card must be dollar enabled You know why you changed your travel plan from Dallas to new jersey, if you flying in through new York make it as convincing as possible Worst case scenario you would be stamped - In for less than a month or a month or a month and |

Solitin40: But will a ticket like this is transit visa going to be needed If the 2 airlines codeshares you won't be needing a transit visa, in most cases Asides that your travel agent needs to tell you the rules guiding that fare Why go through such stress when there are Turkish direct flights to Sydney? |

Solitin40: This is the picture of the E ticket Bro your friend bought a total ticket to Perth from abuja , Ethiopia sold but jet Asia carried him from Singapore cause its still seen as a single ticket. And also jet Asia has a MOU with Ethiopia that was while it was possible If your friend but a ticket that terminated at Singapore, he would have to have a transit visa for onward journey to either Perth or Sydney And this my brother was the picture you painted with your post earlier on |

LegitBachelor: I still maintain that a transit visa is not required while in Singapore as long as he purchased the trip from South Africa to Sydney in one ticket. He can do it via Singapore Airline. What I am not sure of is that of the requirements of the trip from Lagos to South Africa.
cc: Solitin40 This wasn't what you said earlier, secondly south Africa only transits in Perth asides its mandatory layover in Jburg before getting to Sydney |

ladoshady: Please what is the most advisable reason I can give for flying thru jfk to Newjersey as against Dallas I filled. Also must I write the consulate to inform of the change in vacation plan? What do you mean by change in vacation plan? Dallas to new jersey is roughly 20 hours by road, while JFK to new jersey is roughly 1 hour, or were you planing on seeing someone in Dallas first? You won't write to the consulate, you would be controlled by immigration at JFK, then you can easily tell you wanted to go by road or fly in through one of the most beautiful airports in the world, and take pictures You can also book your train ticket before travelling to make it more convincing |

LegitBachelor: I'm not quite sure. But I think a transit visa would not be needed.
However the South African Airline might demand for a South African Visa since they are not the one taking you directly to Australia. You shouldn't need a transit visa in Singapore.
But you can ask a Travel Agent for more clarification.
You may also wish to go with the Turkish Airline option. You want him to do it himself and still tells him to consult a travel agent for consultation. Do not dabble into things that you ain't sure of |

Also this
Whenever you booking flights most especially Ethiopia airlines, from an agent going to Asia or middle east, make sure the airlines ( both Local and international ) partnering( code sharing) with Ethiopia airways can lift you, don't be carried away by cheap fare
Other airlines like Kenya airways, Rwanda also fall in this category |
