okpara ugo:

Oga, is Yinka Odumakin a presidential spokesman or Afenifere spokesman? When making a statement, tell us from where you are drawing your inference...

You and I both know how Nigerian politics works, so there is no need to play coy.

Let's not pretend to be children now. Every Nigerian politician will interpret this as coming from the President. That is a fact.

Sometimes, one wonders at the mentality of GEJ's advisors.

You wonder...."Are they this naturally daft, or do they hate the man?" "Are they secretly working for APC?"

In a heated polity, leading up to an election, with a party that is falling apart, the thing PDP should crave most is STABILITY. PDP members should be seeking to tighten the bonds that hold them together so that they can move forward as one mind and win the 2015 elections. Reducing infighting, and making peace, should be the number one priority.

GEJ desperately needs friends and allies that can act as surrogates for him during his campaign. He needs allies who will help him secure a hassle free primary, and who can deliver him votes in 2015. He needs to be reaching out to politicians all over the country (especially in "enemy" areas) so that he can receive his constitutionally mandated 25%. In short, GEJ needs to be building alliances. In order to create alliances, he needs to be perceived as strong. To be perceived as strong, he needs for PDP's internal crisis to END. He needs calm.

Now...what have his advisors been doing on his behalf? Creating enemies and chaos!

When an African President allows an advisor to start talking of coups, it immediately heats the polity to a boiling point. The South Sudan crisis started because the mumu President had a relatively minor disagreement with his Vice President. Instead of reconciling with his VP and bringing his country together, he decided to fire the VP, sack the VP's supporters in government, and prematurely declare that the VP was planning a coup! The VP, his allies, and his ethnic group felt threatened by the President's words, and took up arms to defend themselves against this perceived aggression. Now the country is in anarchy and people are killing each other like chickens.

Now that GEJ has declared that his enemies are planning a coup, how will this play out in Nigeria?

My guess, is that both APC and PDP supporters will start fearing for their lives. People have not forgotten OBJ's claim of GEJ training 1000 snipers. People can clearly see how GEJ is using the police to threaten Amaechi. For young Nigerians, talks of coups are lighthearted and funny. For MANY, MANY, Nigerians (especially the 30 year old and up political class) coups are a vivid and painful memory. People have not forgotten the political assassinations that used to be common in Nigeria, even as late as 2007. For older Nigerians, declaring of coups can never be considered funny. They will never take it as a joke. GEJ has just brought Nigeria into "one chance".

Both PDP and APC politicians will be reacting very strongly to this declaration. Everyone will divide themselves along tribe and religion. Unfortunately for Jonathan, he is a member of one of the smallest tribes. The North will expect GEJ to be planning to kill them, so they will be preparing to defend themselves, and they will look for allies in the SW and Middle Belt. They will exit PDP enmasse and RUN to APC as they may see it as the only way to counter GEJ and prevent him from using the military and police to kill them like chickens. The military will experience a breakdown of trust, and high ranking officials will start looking over their shoulders at each other (which is PAINFUL because our military needs to be focusing on Boko Haram!). Expect to see chaos in the military, with divisions along ethnic and religious lines. Voices like Asari Dokubo and other warlords will start getting louder, bringing us closer to violence. Igbos will start preparing for war. The SW will be preparing for war. No one will trust anyone, and people will start shedding blood. Some of us have seen this all before.

By making that declaration, GEJ has not only destroyed PDP, but ensured that 2015 will be AT LEAST as bloody and chaotic as 2007.

God help us!

We Are Disappointed With Anambra Governorship Election — US

The United States Government has expressed disappointment with the conduct of the November 16 Anambra State governorship election which the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Willie Obiano won.

The disappointment was expressed when the US Assistant Secretary of State on African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, spoke with some young Nigerians on the President Barack Obama Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) at the Rosa Parks corner of the US Embassy, Abuja on Thursday.

Thomas-Greenfield was responding to a question on how to assist Nigeria and other African countries holding major elections in 2015 make them free and fair. In her words: “That issue is on our agenda for Nigeria as you go for elections in 2015, to promote free and fair elections. We were disappointed with the results of the Anambra State governorship election and the problems that came out of that election. So we want to work with the electoral commission and work with your politicians to ensure that that’s not repeated. And we continue to build on successes and correct failures.”

known for rigging.

If PDP is not known for rigging, then who is?

On the international level, PDP must be one of the most corrupt political parties on Earth. They have rigged every election they have ever taken part in (this is not to excuse other parties!).

The Anambra election was heavily rigged a few weeks ago! Mtcheew! Does Jonathan take us for fools?

IGNATIUS OKPARA, Onitsha

Members of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, (MASSOB) on Friday clashed with the Police in Onitsha, leaving one of their members dead, while eleven others sustained various degrees of injuries.

Police, MASSOB Clash in Onitsha Leaves One Person Dead, Several Injured

An eye witness told our correspondent that trouble started when a police team on surveillance flagged down a motorist along the ever busy Onitsha/Owerri road and started maltreating him, probably for allegedly refusing to give them money an action, which drew the attention of MASSOB members that were controlling the traffic in the area since the yuletide, as they confronted the security men.
However, the intervention of the MASS0B members in the matter angered the police men, resulting to a heated argument which later led to assault between the MASSOB members and the police.

while the argument was raging, one of the policemen, according to the source, pulled out his rifle and shot at a MASSOB member who died instantly, just as the police men disappeared from the scene immediately for fear of uncertainty.

Watching one of their members lying in the pool of his blood, the MASSOB members in anger barricaded the -busy Onitsha / Owerri road for over two hours, just as they made bonfire with fairly used tyres, a situation that compelled traffic flow to divert to the Obosi by-pass.

However, the corpse of the late MASS0B member was said to have been taken to the Awada Police Station.

When contacted, the Onitsha Police Area commander, Mr. Benjamin Wordu, confirmed the incident but said trouble stated when MASSOB and a rival group had a bloody clash, a statement, the militia group swiftly dismissed.

Wordu, said immediately he got information about, the incident, he dispatched a team of policemen to the troubled area, adding that normalcy has since returned to the commercial city.

Lagos State : Fashola commences work on Lekki-Epe international airport
POSTED BY OUR REPORTER ON MAY 10, 2012 AT 8:59 AM 0 COMMENT

Lagos State Government has commenced work on the development on the Lekki-Epe International Airport to complement the activities of the Zone as well as provide alterative air transport services in the State.
The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Olusola Senapon Oworu disclosing this at a Ministerial Press Briefing in commemoration of the First Year Second Term anniversary of Governor Babatunde Fashola in Office, said the State Government has successfully obtained the site approval for the Airport from the Federal Ministry of Aviation and has also completed the master plan on the 3500 hectares of land earmarked for the project.
Mrs. Oworu explained that the Airport is designed to handle about 5million passengers annually with provision for a modular terminal for future expansion, adding that preliminary work on the project have commenced with the clearing of 4.5 km of the access road and 9km of perimeter road, saying that this is in furtherance of the State objective to make the Lekki Free Trade Zone a fully functional investment haven.
The Commissioner also reiterated that the Lekki Free Trade Zone project is a reality as it has so far attracted key players particularly in the oil and Gas sector with a greater prospect of attracting more investors as its development progresses, especially with the provision of power.
“A further testimony to the development of the Zone is the interest expressed by the Federal Government through the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to establish a pioneer Hydrocarbon Industry Park, which would comprise of a Green Field Refinery, Petrochemical, Fertilizer and Power Plant within the Zone. The State has earmarked 1500 hectares of land for this purpose out of which 550 hectares will be released for the development of the refinery and power plant”
“A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with the NNPC to this effect. The Refinery is designed to have a refining capacity of between 200,000 – 300,000 barrels of crude oil per day. When completed, it would help to shore up the domestic refinery capacity and close the prevailing demand – supply gap for petroleum products in the country”, she said.
Concluding, Mrs. Oworu assured that the State Government has made appreciable progress in some of the social challenges that had in the past encumbered the smooth implementation of the Lekki-Free Trade Zone Project.

Yes, building. It will be completed in 2015.

The difference is also that no other STATE Government is doing anything like it.

The worst corruption in Nigeria is going on in APC states. But the good thing about PDP is that they are the only democratic party out there. They are the only party were people can air their views and disagree. APC is a cult where Tinubu and Buhari reign supreme. Just look at the shambles going on in Lagos state. Performance my foot. Lagos state government is a fraud. APC governors are all frauds. All they do is propaganda. Please show me the world class hospitals in Lagos after 14 years? Why did Tinubu go to the UK to treat his knee if he is a performer? Where are the Lagos state world class schools? Oh, I remember. Lagos state schools are those ones where students where hanging on the window because there where no seats. Liars and hypocrites

You want to be free, yet you worship Tinubu. what an irony... grin

I don't worship anyone.

Using common sense, I know that we need two parties in a democracy. That is a fact.
A one party monopoly will doom us as a nation, and as a people.

Using common sense, I know that Tinubu is the only person who is fighting to make a two party system a reality. And guess what, Tinubu is a performer. Fashola is a performer. Most ACN governors are performers. So, I am hoping that they create a party of performers.

HOWEVER! Even if APC becomes as corrupt as PDP, the competition between the two parties will bring MASSIVE dividends to Nigerians. So let's move one step at a time. Let's support the creation of a two party system. Let's get engaged and involved in the process. Then later we can make them fight for our vote by increasing their performance.

Because right now, politicians have no incentive to increase their performance. They just need to steal enough to win the PDP primary and then they are GUARANTEED a term. No. I want PDP to be scared (shaking!) that APC will take their seat if they do not perform, and I want APC to have the same fear. That is democracy.

That system doesn't work if the parties are divided along region and tribe. We all need to be on the same page for this to work.

"We are going to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery because whilst others might free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind. Mind is your only ruler, sovereign. The man who is not able to develop and use his mind is bound to be the slave of the other man who uses his mind; use your intelligence to work out the real things of life. The time you waste in levity, in non-essentials, if you use it properly you will be able to guarantee to your posterity a condition better than you inherited from your forefathers." - Marcus Garvey

While you are busy celebrating every government in power, your masters are stealing you blind.

Really, have you seen massive development under GEJ? Be honest TO YOURSELVES!

Is that subpar airport all you want to leave behind to your children? A couple of tarred roads? Is a train that travels slower than a horse (literally) enough for you! Jesus, have some self respect!

Everytime I hear Nigerians celebrating failure and defending corruption I am reminded of a house slave. Listen to the words of Malcolm X and see if they don't sound familiar. They remind ME of the Goodluck 'Azikwe' Jonathan crowd, who protect the current underperforming and corrupt President (and his equally corrupt and incompetent ministers) MORE than the Ijaws do. And why? Because of a few scraps they get to eat off the FG table.

To understand this, you have to go back to what [the] young brother here referred to as the house Negro and the field Negro — back during slavery. There was two kinds of slaves. There was the house Negro and the field Negro. The house Negroes – they lived in the house with master, they dressed pretty good, they ate good ’cause they ate his food — what he left. They lived in the attic or the basement, but still they lived near the master; and they loved their master more than the master loved himself. They would give their life to save the master’s house quicker than the master would. The house Negro, if the master said, “We got a good house here,” the house Negro would say, “Yeah, we got a good house here.” Whenever the master said “we,” he said “we.” That’s how you can tell a house Negro.

If the master’s house caught on fire, the house Negro would fight harder to put the blaze out than the master would. If the master got sick, the house Negro would say, “What’s the matter, boss, we sick?” We sick! He identified himself with his master more than his master identified with himself. And if you came to the house Negro and said, “Let’s run away, let’s escape, let’s separate,” the house Negro would look at you and say, “Man, you crazy. What you mean, separate? Where is there a better house than this? Where can I wear better clothes than this? Where can I eat better food than this?” That was that house Negro. In those days he was called a “house nigger.” And that’s what we call him today, because we’ve still got some house niggers running around here.

When you finally realize that you cannot eat with Stella Oduah's stolen money, you will be free from mental slavery. When you realize that you deserve more than failed leadership, you will be free. When you gain self esteem and realize that YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE who can free yourself, you will be free, and no longer mentally enslaved to our corrupt FG.

The reason you have such a high rate of Christianity (99%) is because you abandoned your own culture to follow follow the white man. The entire Igbo nation will follow anyone with power.
