i will use this medium to thank you for your immense efforts in trying to fix most confused graduates like me in a purposeful career path. I am a graduate of banking and finance 2:2(3.30) and i intend pursuing a masters degree in a reputable university, but my issue now is that i cant really place my choice on a discipline that will complement my degree. i have always thought of being versatile and that also informed my preference for a masters degree in project management, but i have the slightest of ideas on whether MPM will be a good choice to complement my first degree. pls i need your advice, if you think MPM isn't worth the while, please i will be glad if you can proffer a better choice or option for me. thanks for your swift retort.

Your Bsc background is very far from your proposed masters course, I will like to know what informed your decision. are you experience in that field, or you just like the course? what is your work experience? what are your future plans? many decision should influence your masters choice.

There are many options to combine with your course, but it not what you choice in a vacuum, you must take other things into consideration.

Good choice of courses here. From what I know,
A biomedical engineer will typically Design systems and products, such as artificial organs, artificial devices that replace body parts, and machines for diagnosing medical problems, Install, maintain, repair, or provide technical support for biomedical equipment.
they can also Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment

They generally Work with life scientists, chemists, and medical scientists to research the engineering aspects of biological systems of humans and animals

A biomedical engineer may design instruments, devices, and software, bringing together knowledge from many technical sources to develop new procedures, or conducting research needed to solve clinical problems.

They frequently work in research and development or in quality assurance.

while A biochemist will typically Plan and conduct complex projects in basic and applied research. Manage laboratory teams and monitor the quality of their work. Isolate, analyze, and synthesize proteins, enzymes, DNA, and other molecules.

They Research the effects of substances such as drugs, hormones, and food on tissues and biological processes


From above it seems Biomedical engineer is the most exciting and tasking, but for the Nigerian market the Biochemist is more relevant because we are still an import based economy,

However, if If you have other info that i dont have, you can go for the first option. I dont normally encourage people to read for their postgraduate what they read in their undergrad level, except you are aiming at lecturing...

industries need versatile hands, who are more pragmatic and think on their toes!

Pgd is for those who made a third class or pass in the bsc level, so ure good to go. the duration is 3-4 semesters. its fees is 75k. as that of msc. accommodation is not auto, is by ballot, and if you get one around N58k from school, but if u decide to buy space, around N250k.

Three questions sir demanding your answers
1. Please kindly give an exact or close estimate of the total sum of an Msc finance programme (PT), tuition fees plus all associated cost.
2. Also I am a graduate of accounting with 2.1 grade of DLI faculty but am yet to collect my certificate will probably be ready next year. I have my to whom it may concern and am sure my transcript would not be a problem.
3. As DLI, I did not serve so I don’t have a discharge certificate but an NYSC exemption letter while my exempting certificate is still in process.

Please with question 2 and 3 above what are my chances?

1. 150k, the rest are same read the thread you will find them
2. you are covered. unilag will process unilag without delay
3. your exemption is your discharge cert my brother

my answer is yes. From Unilag website, requirement for Pgd Comp.Science is a Bsc. in social science, and Economics is in social science.
so dont limit yourself if you want to make a re-direction assuming you read a course You really dont like in your Bsc.

there is no Msc taxation here in Nigeria. its covered in Msc Finance. fees is 150k and 90k (pt and ft). MBA is good when you have attained a certain level in your career and you seek management skills to boost your delivery. I will advise that you do MBA at some point in your career as an Accounting graduate, it is a big boost for you.

This is a big problem with most Pg programs. For Unilag Biochem dept, as much as I know there is no backlog. The dept is not too competitive in its category as others. Most Biochem graduate seek other courses like Msc Public health in their msc level. the duration is 3 semester, which is roughly 18 months. all things been equal you should be done within that time - pray against ASUU strikes.

The fees is 90k for the session.

making enquiries, I learnt that with msc comp sci one can proceed to PhD but with MIT u can't proceed to PhD because MIT is a professional masters... please advice.

what you heard is correct. what is your intentions? you need a Phd later in life? then msc computer does it. however, industry wise MIT is more useful and recognized. you call bro
