She literally said the movie is about Yoruba and Egun, and somebody is there shouting “Ewo,” “egbwemo,” and other Igbo chants. What exactly is she supposed to do? Smile, keep quiet and pretend everything is fine because she’s an actor and does not want to trigger some people? WHO CARES!?

If the cultural setting is Yoruba, then why are you forcing another ethnic culture into it and expecting everyone to just shut up when they point it out?

And this is what annoys me about Nigerians. The moment someone raises a genuine cultural issue, some people start screaming “tribalism!” as if that word automatically ends the conversation.

The 12-inch, 28-kilometre Assa–Obile Gas Pipeline has successfully passed its hydrotest, marking a major milestone as the project moves into its final stages before commissioning.
Constructed by Oilserv, the pipeline connects the 300 MMscf/d Assa Gas Processing Facility to the Obile Processing Facility. The project involved complex engineering works, including the crossing of 15 major roads using Horizontal Thrust Boring (HTB) technology and the challenging Orashi River and surrounding swamp terrain.
With the hydrotest now completed, the pipeline will proceed through final commissioning activities before entering commercial operation.

Once operational, it will transport up to 250 million standard cubic feet of natural gas (250 MMscf/d) per day, strengthening Nigeria's gas transportation network and supporting power generation, industries, and businesses that rely on a stable natural gas supply.
The successful completion of this milestone brings Nigeria one step closer to expanding its gas infrastructure and unlocking greater value from its abundant natural gas resources.

Anyone conversant with the drama going on in the North between the Fulanis and their Hausa host will understand the sheer reason why the predominantly Fulani political class in the North is rejecting the state police they once lended their voices in support of.

If you recall when Buhari was in power, El Rufai headed the presidential committee on constitutional reform and restructuring , in one of its reports, recommended the state police structure sitting the out dated policing system of maintaining a mono policing system for a vast Nation as Nigeria, will not make the country safer and as such,policing should be expunged from the exclusive list of the FG.

Even up till Tinubus Presidency, I can recall on several occasions where some northern governors and politicians lended their voices in the call for state.police. Now, the big question is, What's has changed ?

The reasons is short and simple, a state police mean arming the Hausa who at the moment are dagger drawn against the Fulanis in their various communities in the North. The recent awakening of the Hausa is not sitting well with the Fulani lead political class as they are even getting rumours of planned uprising by the Hausa to dethrone the Fulanis dominated traditional institutions that has being holding sway for two centuries now and the call for change is now loudest.

The state police means policing of every communities by the indigenes of the state and of which, the Hausa are more in number both in numerical strength to demographic spread. Conditions like this,wil not in anyway advisable for such a change to be introduced into a system that has already boiled to it's saturation point and an out right rejection means, a safer step that must be taken to still maintain their hegemony.

The same is said to be the case in the Plateau, Benue, Taraba, Nasarawa and other middle belt states where the Fulani land grabbing activities are in full throttle. But on the flip side, they have only two regions where they can pass such votes in their favour as such will not trickle down south and the middle belt as the state police is here to stay for real.

Many Northern leaders oppose state police due to fears of abuse. They worry governors could use it against political opponents or minority groups within their states.

Others argue policing should remain centralised to ensure coordination against banditry and terrorism that cross state borders, and to prevent ethnic or religious bias in recruitment.

In contrast, many Southern leaders support state police because of rising insecurity and slow federal response.
They argue local officers who know the terrain can respond faster to kidnapping, cultism, and herder-farmer clashes.
States also want more control over security in their territory instead of relying on federal police posted from other regions.
For them, state police means accountability to state governments and communities.

So the divide largely comes down to trust, capacity, and how each region experiences insecurity.

The fear of arming the Hausa is just the simple reason..If you recall,many of them have been clamouring for state police until it became a reality and found out that the Hausa have woken from their deep slumber and for that it's now an existential threat to the predominantly Fulani lead political class in the North.
