if he was free, you would go out with him with care? Are you that desperate? Are women that desperate? If I have questions as to his motivations - easy answer - NO. Date some other person. |
you believe in miracles because you believe in God? So, if I pretend to be sick, have some guy pray over me, then suddenly, i am healed- you will believe because you saw it on tv- because you believe in God? Well, I guess I must say I believe you are an idiot. I can't speak for the true motivations behind banning "UNVERIFIED" miracles from TV, but I do say I support it 100%. One thing which irks me a lot are people faking being healed or some other miracle. I think the majority of those who would be against banning unverified miracles are either idiots or those who were faking them. |
I think it is more a function of society pressure. Father's face a lot of responsibility especially when it comes to the raising of sons. It is expected that the father will disciple the boy and show him what is means to be a "man". Also, society expects guys to be "manly" and dads also tend to pass on that expectation to their sons. Dad's also would want their sons to succeed them - not neccessarily by taking over the family business, but propagating the family name and also being able to say - that's my son. Same thing applies to girls. Female children in our society are to be raised by the mother who will teach them "womanly" ways. While different in the way men express it, girls too have standards to which their mothers compare and hold them to. Still, both parents love their children alot. But boys quickly learn that mother is more forgiving of them (she sees the role of disciplining the boy as the father's) and vice-versa, girls learn that they can get away with more with daddy. |
No, that is not the answer - initially. Years of prolonged exposure - especially when the other does not make any effort towards changing or resolving the problem with you could drive a person to do it. |
actually, there is nothing stopping them from going out for other husbands. . I guess it would end when everyone is married to everyone whose culture allows polygamy. |
Not neccessarily. Your first wife may be lacking in some department. You mention this to your parents, they find a nice 18 year old who has the qualities you feel your first wife lacks. You marry her the next day. |
lying in a truthful manner? If you call and say you want to speak to so and so, and I tell you the person is unavailable to talk to you - even if the person is right there - I am not lying. If the person said they're not taking calls from you or anyone else, then that means they are not available to talk to you. There is no truthful lying involved. Like when you are very sick and your parents ask you to do some chore, you say you are sick. Are you sick to the point where you could not do the work? No. Are you lying, No. Do your parent's take the hint - well. . .that's up to them. |
sub $100 laptops exist - the trick is that most people are not interested in them and most laptop's require supply to power eventually to charge the batteries. The reason these laptops are so "great" is because they can be powered manually and the screen comsumes very little power. There are color laptops with 640x480 resolution color screens, 300MHz or faster processors, 1-10GB hard drives, 96-256MB ram for under $300, but most people wouldn't buy them. |
instead of diverting these laptops into the wrong hands. . .why doesn't someone figure out a way to make a similar one. Then, all you need to do is raise the start up capital to create a prototype and start production on it. |
oh. . .then i guess there's no point in posting anymore questions. . . i was trying to come up with good ones .. . not just easy step by step solution types. .. I guess i can do something else now. |
There is a simple way to solve the problem of having a husband who doesn't do housework - don't marry the guy in the first place. If you've been doing your man's laundry and then you get married . . . what exactly are you expecting to change. Someone said something about if women can give their guy's sex, why can't their guys do some housework. . . what kind of bs is that? there are tradeoffs in most relationships. If your man doesn't like doing housework, then there is probably something he's trading off for that. The thing is, most guys would actually go ahead and make this compromise . . . without saying a word. So yeah, that 10 hours you like spending in the mall every weekend that your man actually comes along with you - thats the reason why you vacuum the house and do the laundry. Women seem to think that something is only important when you have to complain about it. They don't seem to understand that the guy is already giving up stuff as well. There are so many posts about stuff men should be doing or don't do. Is it that men are so bad. . .or that men don't complain as much. . . my guess, guys don't complain as much. |
umm, hot angel. . . if i said the only time you NEED to wash your hands is when they are dirty, does that mean I said you can ONLY wash your hands when they are dirty? Reread what I said - i did not say you CANT use the solution all the time, I only said you only NEED to use it when solutions are not nice whole numbers. |
sorry. . . i know you can use it every time. . . but since you'd get the same answer, I didn't bother. Sorry Ma'am. |
Vexxy. . . what is another issue you feel strongly about. . we're running out of things to argue about. |
As to the hot-angel's question . . . 2x2 - 4x + 2 = 0 (divide both sides by two) x2 - 2x + 1 = 0 (lets see. .what can i factor) (x - 1)(x - 1) = 0 (yes, I've solved it) x = 1 (a double root at x == 1)! The only time you need to use the solution to a quadratic equation is when the roots are not whole numbers. Otherwise, you can always figure it out without having to use the equation. |
I just saw this post: nike4luv:You are seriously telling me that 2^(7/9) can be turned into an improper fraction? Where do you get that? 2^(7/9) is 2 raised to the seventh power then you take the ninth root. here is a simple example (2^2)^2 = 2^(2*2) = 2^4. don't believe me? 2^2 = 4 and 4^2 = 16. 2^4 = 16. Use your improper fraction thing and tell me if you get the same thing. Also by definition: 1 raised to any power = 1. 1^(2/3) = 1, NOT 5/3 ------------------------------ And there was a mistake in my question at the end. . .so don't worry about it. |
you're missing my point having a second wife is not stepping outside the marriage. You cannot cheat on your wife . . .with your wife. And being selfish - if a wife is denying her husband something he wants to the point he feels the only place he can get it is outside the marriage . . .isn't she being selfish as well? |
It's not just plain Democrats - higher taxes, Republicans - tax cuts; who gets the tax cuts in Bush's economy? everyone, the rich, the poor? - yep - those who already got money. Training the taliban - not under Clinton, that was done when the US was still in the cold war against russia and russia was making inroads into afghanistan - look more towards carter or reagan for someone to blame. I don't disagree that Bush is a man of strong character - in fact, he has to be one of the most supremely self confident men out there, or one who believes so much in his convictions, that nothing will sway him. In most cases, this would be a good thing, my problem is . . . it has not been a good characteristic of Bush. There are times when you think he should bend a little. . . As far as the education thing goes, it seems we're on the same page. |
In the old testament, the israelites were involved in numerous wars. Wars where they were guided by God. Clearly, those people did not run afoul of the commandment, thou shalt not kill. So, why are we even having this discussion? If you say God looks at the heart, then wouldn't he look at the heart of the soldier as well? If the person is a soldier doing his/her job to defend their country, wouldn't that make what they are doing right - at least from their point of view? The soldier isn't fighting a war for selfish reasons, he is fighting a war because he believes it is right? Or are you saying that all wars that don't occur in the bible are wrong? Or are you suggesting to me that there aren't any wars fought by the Israelites in the old testament for selfish reasons - and if so, why doesn't the bible mention the total hellfire punishment for that entire generation? |
Your answer is Correct!!! though, its not that the probability of 2 head is 4, but the total number of possible ways of getting two heads is 4. And the answer to your question, (27/9)1/2 = 27/18 so, answer this: what is wrong with this proof: x = y. Then x2 = xy. Subtract the same thing from both sides: x2 - y2 = xy - y2. Dividing by (x-y), obtain x + y = y. Since x = y, we see that 2 y = y. Subtracting y from both sides: y = 0 |
and the lord had people serve in his army against a threat to his people as well, wouldn't that extend to the intent of serving in your country's army. |
yep, you are right! Now, my own question: What is the probability of getting at least two heads when a fair coin is flipped three times? |
[rant] Well, then the problem becomes - what makes you say/think homosexuality is wrong. From what I've seen, its not a conscious choice someone made, so how can you really say the person is doing something wrong? Most arguments against rights or equal treatment for gay couples are incredibly stupid. Really, this is the one argument where I could see there being some merit and actual discussion. Examples of stupid arguments: If gay parents raise a child, the child will become gay. - Well, how did so many people become gay? What's going on in families where the parents claim they are straight and cannot understand their child's behavior. or If you raise a child up in the church and they know the ways of the Lord, they won't become gay. - Again, there are plenty of gay people who grew up in the church - and who are even pastors. . . - yep, I know some arguments, but you can't seriously believe that all of those people are minions of the devil, or are confused, or . . . [/rant] |
yes - 24 is the lcf, 48 is the lcm. |
I meant Bush had it easy in terms of being able to get his agenda written into law. My main beef with him is the lack of good output by his party or office and when ppl bring up the lies or partial truths they told, they claim to never have said it or didn't mean it. Maybe its a difference of ideology, like I don't think tax cuts for the rich will significantly benefit the poor, though people can argue that it would, but for the most part, I can't say that there are very many programs that Bush or his party has initiated in the past few years which if they survive would make this country a lot better. No child left behind is a great idea and if done right could work - in fact, I was in total support of it when I first heard him talking about it. But when you look at how it has been implemented, it is making things worse. It not that no child left behind is bad - giving parents the ability to make more choices about where their kids goto school is great - and this needs to happen in order to force bad schools to change. However, there are few programs in place to help bad schools make the transition, and what ends up happening is that those who can't afford the private schools or transfers - even with the aid from no child left behind, end up seeing it as something really wrong and see their school getting worse with no hope of it getting better. I agree the Nixon squandered his presidency. But Clinton, no way. You can say he tainted or tarnished it with his affairs, but squandered, if it wasn't for Clinton, Bush would not have had the surplus to do half the things he wasted our money on. I guess what I think needs to happen - in fact, kinda what I'm doing now - is people flesh out what they think is wrong with their current government, society, etc. Truely take the time to identify a problem, outline a solution, then start working through what could go wrong, what could go right, issues with getting your solution accepted - should it be open to all, should you kinda sneak it in.. and just plan this thing out. Then, 10-15 years from now, after we're all done with school and have gotten relatively successful in the world, we can start implementing our plans. It's hard for some guy every four years to come up with a plan that would show results in that amount of time or less - but that's what we expect from the presidency and congress. I think though, the real people who are going to change this world will be us, ppl who have these arguments today and are setting ourselves up to solve the problems in the future. Since we're taking the time necessary to work out the solution, its not going to be a spur of the moment campaign thing. It's something we've thought about for years, debated with our peers, and have a pretty good idea of how well it would work. |
