googi:You rattle without common sense. Spare me the encomiums on Cuba. As far as I know, it's third world. I agree with you about fixing home, our education and our facilities. Not until we have quality education that reflects in our ways of life and quality of service in health and social welfare, NO COUNTRY will take our healthcare system seriously.. nor admit our Drs without rigorous scrutiny. For the records, and just in case you care to know (cos I see where you are driving at with the hustler thing) I'm a medic trained outside, but with passion to see things work at home. Im one of the last bastions of healthcare service providers who'll rather work home than outside. It's really not about the money. For those who really understand the calling, medicine is first a humanitarian profession. |
Citytrend:Your post was comprehensive and straight to the point. The point is, when Drs from third world countries approach Europe and America to work ( and perhaps earn a living) they are subjected to rigorous exams and sometimes not employed. But when Europe is in distress, the same Drs whose qualifications are repudiated, and can only be validated by passing rigorous exams, are welcomed with open arms to work freely without the rigour of exams. Then, after the pandemic, they are thrown out! Abi no be so? First world countries go everly get upper hand in any bargain with third world! |
googi:Mumu, So daft you didn't get the sarcasm. |
Will the Medical Council in Italy subject them to passing medical licensing exams before tendering the 'help'? ![]() |

Stop passing the buck. Man up and take responsibilities. Do you also have sister-in-laws having irreconcilable differences with your wife in Canada, Australia, US and other parts of the world where doctors are well remunerated? Abeg shift! |
michlins:So, foreign rice is same as valid and sensitive national data. I wonder how ppl like you think in this jet age! |

johnson5050:Don't bother if you have an offer. It's nothing to write home about. ![]() Accept any offer only for the passion, not for the money |
I don't doubt him. I once left Yaba at 8pm and arrived home (Ejigbo) at 1:00am, no thanks to the daily notorious traffic at mushin-isolo axis. Extremely notorious for traffic is the 'Aye' bus-stop- that tiny road junction always (morning and night) stacked with long container trucks, the industrial trucks, and oil haulage trucks on that tiny road. Oh lawd! Abysmally frustrating on daily basis. Govt should pls come to our aid on that road. It's adjacent Aswani-Ajao estate road, for those who don't know it. |
Impossible! You can't practice any medical or allied medical profession in Australia without writing and passing licensing exams and getting board registration! Only gullible Nigerians will believe they can just relocate to any developed country and start practicing. |
MrEgghead: MrEgghead:Medicine & other fields have evolved tremendously over the years through cutting-edge research! PhD is founded in deep research that adds novelty to existing body of knowledge. One of the reasons the field of medicine isn't really advancing much in Nigeria is due to the paucity of research. Those who lecture medicine only recycle old notes to generations of students. No research, no new knowledge, no publications with ground breaking knowledge. This lack lustre approach can not advance the field of medicine or any field for that matter. A PhD should be made compulsory! Not only for medics in universities but for ALL lecturers. The residency programme is not equivalent to a PhD. That argument won't fly! A PhD demonstrates rigor and novelty. There's a difference between a dissertation and a thesis. Read residency dissertations and a well-written thesis. The difference is clear! If it were same, medics in advanced countries won't go back for PhD after MD. Pick up most of the medical texts and check the qualifications of the authors. You'll often see MD, PhD. Why won't they make better docs? |
one of the cleanest naija used I've seen in a long time. Really wish I could pick it. happy sales bro. ![]() |
Trust FCMB Their loan nearly ruined my life! The more you pay, the more they inflate it, until you are left impoverished. Even if you borrow a kobo, you can NEVER finish paying back. Will never approach any bank for loan anymore, I learnt the hard way! |
Makes sense! |
jesmond3945:Less than $250 for a whole month! for a family! To be honest, that's too little bro! There's high level of poverty in Nigeria abeg. |
yanabasee:Even if you are not owed, the salary is miserable. Many of them live on loans from cooperative societies. Ippis is not the solution. It will only make matters worse. The solution is implementation of signed agreements on peculiar allowances...e.g hazard allowance, earned academic allowances, etc. Many of them are owed several years of accumulated allowances. Even min wage has not been implemented in Federal institutions, including unpaid min wage arreas. FG has impoverished them in that sector ![]() |
