I suggest that we make it like a novena of 10Hail marys+a psalm daily, for the intentions of each participant. Each person can chose a day they want to be remembered. When it's your turn, you may have to say some words of encouragements, ask questions, post something or make a speech on that special day. You can also post the specific thing you want us to pray for you about. This is a suggestion and if you have anything to add pls do so quickly so we can get started with the date picking. Remember oh most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection implored your help or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you Virgin of Virgins, my mother, to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Mother of the word incarnate, despise not my petitions but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen
Rich4god I pray for you this day;As you have mentioned these petitions, may the Lord, through the intercession of our mother Mary, his mother, grant them & more to you soon. And while you wait for them to be delivered, May he give you the grace to trust n totally surrender to his plans. These I ask through Christ our Lord. Amen |

Syncan: "The Lord says this: ‘I myself will send an angel before you to guard you as you go and to bring you to the place that I have prepared. Give him reverence and listen to all that he says. Offer him no defiance; he would not pardon such a fault, for my name is in him. If you listen carefully to his voice and do all that I say, I shall be enemy to your enemies, foe to your foes. My angel will go before you." Exodus 23:20-23
I was taught as a little child, that I have an angel always by my side. Indeed most children did learn such too. I was taught to salute his presence with this little prayer:
O Angel of God my Guardian Dear To whom God's love commits me hear Ever this day be at my side To light and guard To rule and guide Amen.
Were you taught same? When last did you say it? Oh, sorry, I forgot you're all grown now and need no angels. You may be right, for angels are for children. There is for every child according to Jesus in Matt 18:10, and when the Israelite s became children to be led by God; there was one for them too(as seen above). How often have we lived in total indifference to the one longest companion of our lifetime, how ungrateful we are not to acknowledge a one who is always at our service, yet silently each day he smiles or weeps in approval or disappointment at our acts. He waits on us every second of our lives, waiting eagerly to be of service, to show you the power of God over all, to enlighten you on how much you're worth to God. When last did you spare a thought for him;who will accompany you to the judgement throne? Yes, Yes, I remember, you're all grown up now. May I never grow up, if it means losing my angel. For now I am proud to say "I am a child of God". Happy Feast of the Guardian Angels.
Good morning brethren, A splendid day ahead to all. I wish you the same sir. Thanks for sharing |

SalC: Today being the first day of October and the commencement of the annual october devotion, it will be nice to carry everyone along in this year's devotion.
This is how it's going to be ......
1) You indicate you interest to be part of it.
2) You get any number ranging from 2-30
3) The number given to you represents the day the brethren will pray for you and any special intention (if you give us any)
4) Assuming your number is 15, it means we will pray for you on the 15th of Oct, and depending on the number of those who showed interest, we may have to pray for more than one person on thesame date.
5). Everyday, we announce the names of those to be prayed for.
6)On the day you will be prayed for, you can come around and say a thing or two and drop any special intention you want us to pray for (if any)
7) Everyone in the house has a duty of praying for those whose names were announced for the day,
The prayers, could be, novena, rosary, visitation to the blessed sacrament, mass, etc 8 Today being 1st, we will pray for the Pope's intention while on the 31st we pray for our country Nigeria.
God bless you as you Join us to pray or be prayed for
GLORY TO JESUS...... Please forgive me if your name was omitted, you are still very eligible to be part of this. Great idea SalC God bless you I'll like to book down Saturday October 4th Thanks |

Syncan: "...Why did I not perish at birth, come forth from the womb and expire? Or why was I not buried away like an untimely birth, like babes that have never seen the light? Wherefore did the knees receive me? or why did I suck at the breasts? For then I should have lain down and been tranquil;had I slept, I should then have been at rest...." Job 3:1-3,11-17,20-23.
How many times have we felt like, "Ah, I cannot die now; God knows I am still building up this group, family, company, or... God cannot take me now; I am just entering the university and He knows papa and mama hopes on me, or... death cannot come now that I am preparing for my wedding, etc". In recent times, how many deaths around you could you say the people were ready for it, were they not people with unfinished business, unrealized dreams, unaccomplished visions? hmm...but they died all the same, and life goes on without them.
Death. The surest of all things, yet the least talked about. Why am I afraid of death, eh, why? This life where I hussle for pomo; when some others are feeding their dogs with turkey, I dreamed of studying nuclear physics; yet all i could get was industrial welding, my childhood friend is now a cardinal; yet I am still here in a local parish as a priest, From morning till night, through the year, I barely have time to say hi to my brethren in the catholic thread due to work, yet some others just have holidaying for a vocation. "How can a life be loved that is filled with so much bitterness, that is subject to so many calamities and miseries? How can it be called life when it gives birth to so many deadly and disastrous things"...Thomas a'kempis.
Why am I afraid of death? Uncertainty. What am I not certain of? That there is no heaven? No. I believe all that Jesus said. What am I not certain of then? That I will make heaven. Aha, so what am I doing about it, wishing the day never comes? Isn't that like drowning my problems in alcohol? The scripture assures us thus: “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord henceforth.Yeah, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours, for their deeds follow them’” (Rev 14:13). Isn't this what I really need, after this vale of tears...a well deserved rest. Shouldn't I be ready to "die in the lord" at all times? What is it that will prevent me from dying in the lord now? Is it worth the sacrifice of my eternal rest? "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or unclothedness, or peril, or sword?" says St. Paul. Again I say who? A fiance/fiancee, a benefactor, a ward/child, a parent, a boy/girlfriend, are these worth the sacrifice of my eternal rest, who would go on living if i die now.
"The death of the just man is good because it brings him peace: it is better still for the new joy it gives to him, and best of all because the peace and joy that death brings are never-ending"...... St. Bernard
And I live in hope of so high a form of life, that I die because I do not die”.... St. Teresa of Avila
What will be my lot, If death comes today?
Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all Another 1000 likes |

Christianity Etc › Re: Christ Is My Rock by Kamsified: 12:32pm On Sep 29, 2014 |
Pdizzle: For the Catholics here, most of us are familiar with the hymn, though I've known it a long time, it was sang in church and the lyrics touched me, as a sinner engaged in so much frivolities. So i googled it up, and got to a site where i read comments about how people adore the song and how they were thought as kids a very long time ago. I'm definitely going to teach my kids. What do y'all think about it.
Written by Sr. Marie Therese Winter of the medical mission sisters. ****** CHRIST IS MY ROCK
Christ is my rock, my refuge, my stronghold, Firm as the tree's root that clutches the land. He who has faith builds without worry, not like the man who builds upon sand. I set my house on a solid foundation Christ is my rock the root of my soul's recreation. ******
1) I know a man who loved to live "free", He pitched his tent by the side of the sea. It stood near the surf and was washed by the spray 'Till one day a wave came and washed it away. ******
2) I know a man who loved to live high. He built his castle near up to the sky, Through summer and spring it stood pretty well, When winter winds whistled, it toppled and fell. ******
3) I know a man, a cool one to know, He built his house out of ice and of snow, In chill isolation his night work was done, But it melted away with the warm morning sun. ******
4) I know a man who built out of straw, The flimsiest fellow that I ever saw, One day a spark set it to flame, And nothing was left to remember his name.
****** Christ is my rock, my refuge, my stronghold, Firm as the tree's root that clutches the land. He who has faith, builds without worry, Not like the man who builds upon sand, I set my house on a solid foundation, Christ is my rock, the root of my soul's recreation. I know all the verses of this song by heart, word for word Very inspiring. Thanks for reminding me God bless you |
