Sammy Hoe: Limitation clapped and danced around Hope joyfully, then she sat before him and held him tight again, but Hope said wanly, “Mum, I’m very frail now. All I want is to set my eyes on Doubt my uncle and apologize for all my rude behaviour towards him ever since.” “Sorry, but Doubt has departed for the Town of Cowardice few hours back.” “Dang! I’m hungry and thirsty!” “I’ll get you lunch,” said Limitation, getting up at once, but Hope held her and said, “All I need is uncle Doubt’s quotable quotes to eat as food and his speckless speeches to drink as water. He’s a nice man. He was the one warning me in my dream to avoid the Ocean of Achievement. Father Sage didn’t show his ugly face.” Limitation smiled quizzically as she led Hope to the living room and showed him Doubt’s quotes hung on the walls. Hope saw them and was amazed, having not noticed them there before. Avidly, he began to read: “Doubt all things except Doubt’s words; For if you doubt Doubt you die quick—Doubt Despair. My doubts are the only doubts you should not doubt, Because they are doubtlessly outstanding — Doubt Despair. You can’t do without me; In fact, no man can do without Doubt — Doubt Despair. Consider my thoughts and support the construction of my school of thought — Doubt Despair. If I don’t see it, I don’t believe it — Doubt Despair.
Many speeches of Sage can only get you motivated, But a single word of Doubt is all you need to get you activated — Doubt Despair.
Appreciate nature so you don’t depreciate. But doubt the existence of Father Creator — Doubt Despair. Seek Doubt so you don’t get sick of believing — Doubt Despair. Doubt Faith and have faith in Doubt — Doubt Despair.
Mediocrity is good, limitation is as good; therefore, limit your hope by standing aloof so that you don’t become vulnerable to the Hurt of the evil ones who are wishing to hurt you with alacrity — Doubt Despair. “Wow!” Hope exhilarated. “I’ve not seen these precious quotes on these walls ever since,” he confessed at last, but Limitation confessed otherwise saying, “I see them every day but I don’t know what they bear, since I cannot read and write. They are sweet to the soul.” Limitation was glad. “And also satisfying,” Hope added. “I’ve had a bellyful already, but—I’m still thirsty. Is there not a speech of Doubt to read to quench this thirst?” Limitation grinned as she reached for a tablet close by, which was having a decorated edging. “Doubt left this behind for you. Take and—” Hope snaffled it and read at once: A speech delivered in the Valley of Failure when some failures desired to leave their town during intense famine in the land: O ye Failures! I count it a great privilege to be counted worthy to speak to the great people of this great land flowing with the milk and honey of failure. I’m glad that nature has endowed you with this large area of land which is even wider than the Happy-Go-Lucky itself. It is quite disheartening to hear that some youths gave heed to that wanderer called Knowledge when he came here to tell you that you could get to the Island of Greatness. But you’re lucky that I’m here at the nick of time to tell you that you should not desert this large desert to an unknown one to eat strange dessert. Stay within the domain of failure and don’t fail to lure others to this town—this blessed town of failure: there is no place like home. Life is a mirage, therefore assume that your bitter milk and honey are actually sweet whenever you are sucking and licking them. Also assume that those Trees of Failure yielding the unpleasant Fruit of Failure are actually yielding the luscious Fruit of Success. Take the Island of Greatness for a mirage and pretend as thought it does not exist. Here are the wordy worthy worldly words of Doubt—Doubt Despair, the only words that you should not doubt. Hope laughed “Ha! Ha! Ha!” as he held the plaque tight to his chest and yelled, “My thirst is quenched!” Limitation joined him in rejoicing. Mediocrity and Vulnerability came in too, to join in the fun—only Standaloof was left out, for Limitation had laid her on her cradle to sleep. hmmm ds is gettin mre interesting... |

Sammy Hoe: ...story continuation... Hope yawned the second time as he lifted his head up to view the sky through the roof. He sensed the truth in the ache ringing in his head and in the position of the sun in the sky. “Impossible!” he yelled. “How can this happen?” “There’s possibility in your impossibility, Hope,” Doubt replied. “If you weren’t asleep, then there could have been no way I’d sneak into your room. Remember, you’ve not been hospitable enough to permit me step my heavy toes into your room.” “Yes, uncle Doubt, I can never give room for such.” “But you’ve done that already, Hope,” laughed Limitation and Doubt. “The worst you can do now is to vacate your room for me,” Doubt added and Hope yelled, “Impossible!” Mediocrity handed Standaloof over to Vulnerability and took a seat beside Hope. He put an arm on Hope’s back and spoke to him softly, “Hope, we all love you. That’s why we want to keep you away from the rivers, especially from the River of Achievement.” “We don’t want you dead,” added Limitation. “But Father Sage said—” “Hey, don’t bring Sage into this!” Hope was sharply rebuked by Doubt. The man turned to his sister and said, “Didn’t I tell you that in a twinkling of your eyes this boy could sneak to the Dotage cottage? Don’t you think the old priest indoctrinated him of recent?” “But I was keeping my eye on him,” Limitation spoke up in wonderment but Hope was quick to say, “Mum, your limiting strength isn’t capable of limiting me. I sneaked out last night to tell the Sage a word of thanks and to ask him questions about Father Creator the invisible one.” Limitation’s mouth went wide in bewilderment. She almost drooled as she gawked incredulously into Hope’s eyes. “Lim, can you now see the proof of the authenticity of my utterances?” Doubt smiled proudly. “I said it, you doubted it, and now the truth is brought to limelight.” When Limitation recovered from her shock, she vowed to limit the span of the twinkles of her eyes by not winking at all. However, Doubt didn’t attack her speech this time, but only advised that speaking sense (nonsense) into Hope’s head was the only way to melt and mellow him. “Now it’s your duty, father of our son, to speak to your son,” Limitation spoke to her husband. Mediocrity took the centre-stage as he said, “Hope, the Island of Greatness isn’t safe for you. The risk you face on your way is even too much for you to make you have a rethink. You might die at the sight of the tides of the river, let alone diving into it.” “Father Sage said there are no tides in the River of Achievement, but instead, a glad tiding after gliding through it,” Hope differed. “Tides or no tides, have you forgotten how Alacrity died?” Mediocrity spoke with a wrinkled face but Hope was quick to reply, “He died in the forbidden River of Haste and not in the River of Achievement.” Mediocrity was short of words and Limitation noticed it. To save him, she turned to her brother and said, “Let’s allow my brother to take over.” As an afterthought, Doubt asked, “You said you went to the Dotage cottage to thank Sage.” “Yes of course! For sending Dwarf Faith to rescue me.” “Why thanking him for that?” asked Doubt in puzzlement. “A task not accomplished isn’t worth a word of thanks.” “But it was accomplished,” Hope impugned. “Little Faith did set me free.” Mr. Doubt burst out, laughing. “Funny Hope,” he spoke amidst his laughter. “That tiny thing died a painful death. He crawled to the frontage of this house before the ghost in him gave up the ghost. He died by the mortal pains of the darts.” “He did not die by the Fiery Darts,” Hope argued. “In fact, he’s yet alive, hale and hearty.” “Keep quiet, Hope!” Doubt hollered. “Everyone here, including Standaloof, can testify to this fact.” Hope laughed and asked, “If indeed he had died here, then show me his corpse.” Hope’s demand set Limitation and Mediocrity into confusion, but Doubt laughed it over and replied, “By common sense, Hope, you should know that the ants would have carried it away.” “And by uncommon sense, uncle, you should know that ants cannot bear the weight of something as heavy as Dwarf Faith,” Hope replied. “Enough!” yelled Limitation. “Vulnerability can testify to it that the Dwarf’s Shield of Faith was handed over to Father Sage by him. Why? Because the dwarf has died before his shield arrived.” “Mum, I can assure you that Vulnerability didn’t move an inch to deliver the shield to Father Sage. Instead, he helped Dwarf Faith get up to his feet, gave him the shield and followed him.” lol i luv ds conversation...sami hw mani update do we ve per day |

Sammy Hoe: Hope kept reciting the quotes, and before he could realize how far he had gone, he was already before the door of Father Sage’s cottage. He made his hand into a fist as he got set to knock the door, but a creepy feeling crept around his veins. “The Sage is old and frail,” whispered Hope. “And it will be inhumane of me to knock him out of his sleep with my knocks at the dead of a night as this.” “Anyhow, I’ll knock this door anyway,” he said, and for the second time he refrained. Then doubt began to set in. “I don’t even think the Sage is here,” he said. “He must be keeping vigil in his temple, I’m sure.” He turned to leave for the temple, but another feeling turned him back to face the door. “I’ve come this far,” he said. “So, I’ll knock.” At a single knock on the door, it gave way rapidly and a voice uttered, “Knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Anyone who knocks, the door shall be opened to him. My door is called the Door of Opportunity. Hope, you’re opportune to be here tonight.” “Father Sage!” Hope screamed delightfully. “Were you expecting me?” “Not really. I was only bothered about you, so I couldn’t sleep. I heard your whispers in front of my door, so I came close, expecting you to knock so that I can open immediately, because I don’t open my door without a knock on it.” “But how come? How come you could hear my silent whispers?” The old man snapped his fingers and replied, “How many times will I say this, be swift to hear, be slow to speak—” “That’s true!” Hope spoke up as the man led him to a seat. “Hope, I’m aging, and so my memory is damaging. That’s why I almost damaged Dwarf Faith’s life today.” “How? But the dwarf defeated the hurters easily!” “Not at the first attempt my boy. They struck him down with many darts, but he escaped by miracle, all because of my mistake—I didn’t equip him with the Shield of Faith. You weren’t present then, Hope.” “Oh! That should be while I was kept in the Pit of Pit Vipers!” “That pit!” the old man exclaimed in awe. “Were you not hurt by the vipers?” “They were caged,” revealed Hope. “Each time Mr. Oppressor had wanted to release them to torment me, something would happen and it won’t just happen.” “That was because I was praying for you in my temple that you’ll not fall prey of the pit vipers.” The man smiled. “All thanks to Father Creator.” The man read the reaction on Hope’s face when he mentioned ‘Father Creator’ so he asked, “Hope, hope nothing is wrong.” “Nothing—j-just that I’m a bit c—confused,” the boy replied timidly. “What’s confusing you, Hope? Tell me, what?” “I—I don’t understand some things, but—but I don’t want y—you to get offended if I ask you. That’s why I’m afraid of asking now.” Father Sage smiled and held Hope tight. “Say on.” “And you’ll give me the answers?” “Of course yes!” the man replied. “But only if they are not the questions of Mr. Nonsense; I mean the type of questions asked in the Fools’ School of Thought. Ask, and the answers shall be given unto you...” “I don’t know if it would sound foolish,” Hope said with wrinkles on his face, and then the priest replied, “Just ask—” “Thank you priest,” Hope said with respect. “Thanks for sending Faith to rescue me from the—” “Is that supposed to be a question?” Father Sage was amazed. “No, Father, I can’t ask anything until I’ve thanked you.” “So do I. I can’t ask anything from Father Creator until I’ve thanked him.” “And he’s the exact person I’ve got questions to ask you about.” “Go on—ASK!” the priest was delighted, since such questions were the best he’d loved to answer. “Does Father Creator really exist?”

....What do you think Father Sage would answer? Answer this question before the story can continue... To be continued 2mao by God's grace... hehe ds 1 pas jamb 1 Like |
