Issuing such a statement after a truck claimed the lives of over twenty people in the community amounts to medicine after death. Was the Alale unaware when these trucks resumed operations on a road that had been barricaded? Why were preventive measures not taken then? Why was this kind of statement not made at that critical moment? At the very least, Oba Oseni should have expressed sympathy with the bereaved families instead of releasing this insensitive statement at the critical time of mourning in Akungba Akoko. |
“I don’t listen to rap – that sh*t is boring to me, it’s dead now, it’s tired. These guys do the same sh*t, rap on the same beats, same flows.”- Wizkid ( December, 2022) Amazingly, the child picks the same genre his father had described as "boring" and "dead" |
Nonexisting1:I’m not sure your analogy applies universally or aligns with every tradition. I know of a man in our community whose paternity later came under question because of his striking resemblance to a Catholic reverend father. When the priest passed away in 2017, his family raised the issue, leading to a DNA test. The result confirmed that he was not biologically related to the man he had always known as his father but showed a 99% match with the late priest’s younger brother. In other words, he turned out to be illegitimate. Yet, interestingly, he is the most successful among the three children born to his supposed father. He studied in Germany on scholarship, completed his Master’s and Ph.D. in the United States—also on scholarship—and is now based in America. For the first time in their lives, his parents boarded a plane and travelled to the U.S. last month, courtesy of his success. |
This gave me goosebumps. I wish my father could do this for me. I will definitely emulate this and do it for my children. |

A paper tiger is someone that appears threatening or powerful but is actually weak, hollow, or ineffective when tested. This is what Wike actually is, but deliberately use show of force to maintain influence. His threat fizzle out when tested against legal, diplomatic, or political resistance. Lere Olayinka is a sycophant who rely on crumbs from Wike's table for survival. |
I blame those who allowed any union to use them to test the microphone. Jobs are not easy to get in Nigeria now. Guard the one you were able to secure till you get another. I remember who MTN Call Centre in Jos shutdown its operations in 2011 because the NLC insisted that the staff must be unionized. Over 4,000 people lost their jobs and I know of some of them who had not secured any job since then but forced themselves into hustlers. NLC was nowhere to be found when they were laid off. I also remember in 2000 when they picket GIG Logistics Head Office at Gbagada that the staff must be unionized. Those staff that were supporting them lost their jobs instantly and NLC was nowhere to found to fight for them. Unionism in Nigeria is synonymous to politics. Don't allow them to use you their power tussles. You have family to feed. |
This goes to show that there is no utopian system anywhere in the world. Calamity can happen anywhere in the world even in the so-called saner climes. RIP to the dead. May God console their loved ones |
The earlier Obasanjo stop to shalaye about this 3rd term issue, the better for him and little honour left for him. |
Happy birthday Sir. Your song " Ekilo Fomo Ode" shaped how I handled disrespect especially from junior ones. |
With due respect, Chief Obasanjo, the facts of history contradict your claim. The third term project was not a rumour — it was a real constitutional amendment pushed in 2005–2006, with your closest allies in PDP lobbying hard for it and lawmakers openly alleging huge financial inducements. Governors like Peter Odili and James Ibori were mobilized in support, while others like Rashidi Ladoja and Ayo Fayose resisted and paid political prices. Even your Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has said you personally raised the matter with him. It was, in truth, the hand of Esau but the voice of Jacob. You might not have directly come out to say you wanted third term, but proxies were clearly commissioned for the execution. Where did the huge sums allegedly offered to lawmakers as bribes come from? Were those the personal fortunes of your allies, or funds diverted from the national purse? Such staggering inducements could hardly have been raised outside the resources of the state itself. If it were true that you “could have gotten it,” then Nigerians would not have witnessed the fierce lobbying, the bribery scandals, and the eventual dramatic defeat in the Senate on May 16, 2006. What stopped it was not lack of power on your part, but the collective resistance of Nigerians who refused to let the constitution be bent. The record is clear: the third term bid was real, and it failed — not because you didn’t want it, but because the people rejected it. Stop to shalaye this issue at every available opportunity, it won't change or correct anything. Infact, your attempt to shalaye will continue to reduce the little respect you got. And understand that you won't have gotten any respect out of office if your successors have attempted to build their names in gold. You would have been long forgottten. So, stop feeling funky. |
The best advice is for Sowore to shift from derogatory words to evidence-based, sharp, and witty criticism. He can still be fearless, still mobilize anger, but in a way that strengthens his credibility and reduces legal traps. |
Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political career reveals a consistent pattern of double standards, where he often opposed economic policies as an opposition figure only to adopt the same measures once in power. Tinubu opposed Obasanjo’s fuel tax as well as price hikes in the early 2000s, yet reintroduced fuel-related levies in 2023. He challenged Obasanjo’s VAT regime along with federal revenue control, but now promotes VAT harmonisation together with stronger federal tax authority. He condemned Jonathan’s fuel subsidy removal in 2012 while mocking the SURE-P palliative schemes, yet removed the subsidy while rolling out cash transfers in 2023. He supported Buhari’s refusal to devalue the naira in addition to warning against VAT increases in 2021 (“let the poor breathe”), yet unified exchange rates while expanding taxation as president. Policies he once criticized as IMF/World Bank prescriptions — including subsidy removal, devaluation, privatisation, as well as tax reforms — are now central to his administration. Even his warnings against excessive borrowing have been reversed, given that his government has taken new loans to fund reforms. If Tinubu claims that the policies he once antagonized but now embraces will move Nigeria forward, it implies that for all these years he may have been among those dragging the country backward through blind or politically motivated opposition rather than principled critique. |
Whenever I hear Natasha Akpoti, one of my psychology courses where I was thought about narcissistic behavior always come to mind. She exhibit almost all traits of female narcissist. Below is a note taking from one the classes while i was in the university Female narcissists share the same core traits as male narcissists but often display them differently. They place heavy emphasis on appearance and charm, using beauty or sexuality to attract attention and dominate rivals. They thrive on praise, often creating drama or playing the victim to remain the center of focus. Manipulation is common, whether through guilt, emotional blackmail, or subtle control. In relationships, they lack empathy and see others as tools to boost their self-image. Socially, they present themselves as charming yet secretly belittle others. When criticized, they quickly retreat into victimhood, using fragility as a shield. In short, female narcissists rely less on aggression and more on appearance, manipulation, and emotional tactics to gain admiration and superiority. Natasha Akpoti has exhibited all these traits hence why I am not move by any of her tactics. I pity her supporters especially her husband. |

Force PRO is a big job at HQ, no doubt. But the truth is you can’t become CP, AIG, DIG or even IGP just by staying in Abuja. The police system requires command experience, and that only comes from the field in state commands, zonal offices or operations. That’s why past FPROs also left HQ for field postings. Emmanuel Ojukwu went on to serve as CP in Kogi and later Enugu. Donald Awunah rose to CP Bayelsa and eventually AIG before his passing in 2022. Jimoh Moshood is today CP Lagos after heading the Eastern Ports Command. Frank Mba moved from FPRO to AIG and is now DIG. Even Olusola Amore served as CP Niger and Kwara before retirement. Adejobi’s redeployment as DCP Operations, Delta State, is therefore not a setback but the natural step to prepare him for bigger things. I won't be surprised tomorrow to see him announced as CP, AIG or even higher because this posting is laying the foundation. |
Baba should honorably keep quiet on this issue because the menace was introduced into system during his regime |
May the soul of Aketi continues to rest. He priotized Security and there was remarkable results. Reverse is what is happening in Ondo State now. No, Ondo State ain't lucky with Lucky Ayedatiwa |

topsam1:Can we say Mathew Street from Ijigbo Roundabout to Odo Ado is also a Feredal road ? Can you confidently drive your car on this road ? Is Ugbagba Road belongs to the federal goverment too ? Are you saying Ado-ekiti township road now belongs to the federal goverment ? Even during Fayemi and Fayose time, they repaired some of these federal roads like Ado-ifaki road, Ado-Ikare road, Ado-ilawe road. What has changed ? Let us call a spade a spade and stop promoting mediocre. |

Abuse of the Altar In 2022, a pastor at my former church began using the pulpit to aggressively promote a Ponzi scheme. He pressured members to join and openly shamed those who refused. I was one of the most vocal in resisting the scheme. One Sunday during his sermon, he called me out by name and publicly cursed me, declaring that I would “never make money in life.” That was my breaking point. I stood up, walked out of the church, and haven’t returned to any church since. Ironically, the Ponzi scheme collapsed just two months later, leaving many members heartbroken and financially ruined—exactly what I had feared. Not long after, something unexpected happened: the first business deal that brought over a million naira into my account came on a Sunday. The client couldn’t reach his usual vendor—who was likely in church—while I was open for business. Since then, Sundays have become my most profitable day. I now take my rest on Tuesdays. |
Truth is, if Obasanjo hadn’t allowed constituency project funds in 2000, Nigeria wouldn’t be in this mess today. That single move opened the door to budget padding, abandoned projects, and lawmakers turning contractors. Now under Bola Tinubu, it’s worse — huge funds allocated, record abuse, little to show. Lawmakers should make laws, not chase project money. |
Working tirelessly does not necessarily means doing the right thing. I prefer smart work that produces meaningful, visible, feasible and proven results. I prefer him being in the office for few minutes per day while Nigerians ( i mean the downtrodden ) live comfortably in terms of economy and security. |

favor914:I am sorry about your inability to read and comprehend. I have left you to your ailment. |
favor914:Did you have the opportunity to read this section of the original post? "The recent application submitted to the court introduces a new development in what has evolved into a complicated and extended family dispute regarding the extensive estate of the deceased politician, who passed away without a Will on January 12, 2022." As stated in the post, the root of the issue lies in the lack of a legal Will. If you are still curious about where I obtained this information, dying intestate in legal terms refers to passing away without a Will. This situation is markedly different from the examples you referenced to support your vague response. The Wigwe family is contesting the Will because the Nigerian version contains only three pages, whereas the Florida version comprises 18 pages. In the case of Chief F.R.A. Williams (SAN), the conflict arose because the children could not reach a consensus on how to distribute the late lawyer's estate. While some advocate for the enforcement of the Will, others prefer to divide the properties according to their prior agreement. In both instances, Wills were executed by the deceased, yet their families are disputing the enforcement. In the case of Alao Akala, there is no Will; he died intestate. It is only a shallow-minded individual who would hastily and thoughtlessly comment on matters they have not thoroughly read. |
