womenareapess:It's clear you don't understand my english, if you do, you won't be here ranting and arguing unnecessarily. You'd find it difficult to learn with your kind of mind and thinking. Who said there is no transformer in a Charger? Read your previous comment, then read my previous reply properly. Transformers comes in different sizes, shapes, types, ratings and evolution. Why are you just understanding only yourself? Sit down and learn. Mind you, we are discussing on mobile phone chargers, not yet even SMPS. Your description for the kind of transformer to be expected in your described charger matches with only AC Step Down Transformer (pic 1), which is now outdated for a mobile phone charger. My description for a transformer in modern chargers with little explanation is DC-DC Transformer (pic 2). According to your argument, you expect to source a DC-DC Transformer with 220VAC, and expect it to function without burning? Calm down and learn. Will you?

Crossalpha: womenareapess:If this is how you see everything, then everyone should be careful to listen to anything you say. What do you know about electronics that you have to call that a resistor? Is that a resistor in your eyes? Or don't you know what a resistor is and what it does? In your zeal to find a fault, you just goofed. What is the meaning of neurolo? Don't let me start correcting you by proof reading your comment this morning. It's a pity you're the one here with an empty skull. I see all you know about electronics is just the old type of step up/down transformer with 220/5V. When was the last time you even opened anything electronic? So you think all chargers now come with such transformers as used in those days? And even funny enough, modern Chargers do not always have their transformers easily damaged because the input supply to them have been filtered and reduced by their power transistor(s), which will rather take the damage instead of the modern (bakelite type) transformers. The old type of chargers are the ones with lamination irons that looks like 'E', 'F' and/or 'I' when dismantled. If your 2Amps Charger today is to come as per your description of tranformer, don't you know how heavy it will be? If you don't understand the write up, ask questions please and stop displaying your lack of understanding online. P.D.: I did not ask anyone to use any kind of resistor at the specified. Because if you use a resistor there, unless for any above '5MΩ', consider yourself ready for obituary. And no resistor should ever be used at the specified. |
waploger:Switch your network signal to 2G. Change your Opera Mini Data saver to "Extreme". |
IsaacG29:Safe, only if your house wiring was done by a qualified Electrician to include a proper Earthing. |
Workch:Clearly, you just comment without reading. You have your data and facts right? Good. Bring them on. |

![]() ![]() Workch: Workch: ![]() You should see how confused you already are! First you called me illiterate, next you called me educated. Which one are you pointing to exactly? Your previous two comments are just too hilarious that I already forgot what I wanted to type. I'll be back when I remember what I wanted to type. Aha! I now remember. Give your data to prove you're right here. Or forever just keep shut. |

Workch: ![]() If you can't see any of the data you're asking of yourself, then just as I said earlier, return to the stone age. That's where you belong. Just as I said, it's not to be regretted today. I know your agenda. |
Workch:Several doctors all over the globe are condemning it, and here you are! I laugh you. It's not to be regretted right away. I know your agenda already. |
Workch Many of those who understood are already voicing out. |
Workch:Aha! I'm not a conspiracy theorist. But I'm not deaf and blind. If you are in a computer world, and you ain't getting updates, then you should just go back to the stone age; you don't belong here. |
I have heard many people say it is impossible for a 5V Charger to electrocute or kill someone. But based on personal experiences, I tell you it can electrocute and kill. I am an electronic technician. The first time I experienced this was many years ago. I had this charger that will shock if I do not have any footwear on whenever I plug it to power to charge. This made me want to find out why this is so. Later on, I read on the internet about a girl who was killed by using her phone while it was charging. Though the phone brand was a popular one, so their engineers denied the possibility of a 5V Charger killing anyone because the voltage is very much too low. Also this morning, I read on front page about a man that died while using his phone. Firstly, I condemn the carelessness, because it's been a given warning on several occasions not to make a call with your phone while it's being charged. Yes, the voltage is very much too low, but there is something missing in some Chargers. This is one reason I'll not advise you go to the market and buy just any random charger for use, because there is something missing in most of them! This missing component, I noticed and found it in a Nokia Charger. Then observing all Nokia Chargers I find, it's in them! Meaning Nokia has discovered this widely ignored safety precaution long ago. All Chargers come with 2pin plugs. Even the ones with 3pin plugs has the third pin made of plastic, which makes it impossible to link it to direct Earth, but Nokia discovered this method of internal Earthing, as this clears the voltage leak/reflection effects. Some Chargers today still has that same component missing in it. So when you plugged it to an outlet, you feel a voltage/current reflection, which is very dangerous, as it can electrocute and even kill. Once you plug your phone to charge, the first way to notice is without you having any footwear on, feel the body of your phone with one finger by swiping on it very slowly, (mostly phones with aluminium or iron frame) once you feel that voltage reflection, your charger is not safe for use. After I discovered this hitch, I checked a random charger purchased, and alas this component was missing! Then I got it from the market and fixed it in. And the voltage shock/reflection stopped. So, be observant. Be careful. Modified: The missing component comes in different sizes, types, part number, shapes, and manufacturer. It's used to create a ground between either the AC input, or /negative/anode, or positive/cathode of the bridge rectifier diode, to the output, either to negative or positive; (mostly negative output) which will clear off any possible voltage/current reflection to the output. Note: If the one/type used is not the appropriate, it can cause severe reactions or electrocution. So, take note to use Metal Oxide Varistor 471K.
