@organic foods....well done bro...transplanting cucumbers is not too sure, especially when transplanting from nursery made on the ground. Transplanting from nursery trays is still cool as the young roots will not be disturbed. Cucumbers are very fragile. Better to do direct planting.

@vanpeele.... thanks bro
@mascottboy...na lizard dey chop those things o.... they can't grow again...just uproot them...the solution... since it is at your backyard, and not much, just get mosquito net.Erect something it can stand on and cover them with it. You have to bury the down side of the net touching the ground with sand. Wet from the top of the net. you can remove it when the second true leaf comes out. By then the lizard will not disturb them again. ..Though on a large scale, you don't have to worry much cos they will what they can and leave the rest. You just have to replant.

@vanpalee... great job my brother. I am also a cucumber farmer. Just had a very bad experience. lost my farm to pest attack. ... White flies, leaf miner, nematode. My raining season planting was so smooth .Didn't experience any itch. ...Nematode was the last thing I ever thought off. The whole thing all started with whiflies. Those things don't finish. it's like the more you spray them , the stronger the come back. I tried about 3 different insecticides. ... attacked, avesthrin and rocket. .... Thought white flies was the only issue until I uprooted one cucumber plant. lo and behold, nematode.....They almost have the same symptoms.... Yellowing of leaves, stunted growth etc. I tried all I could to save them, but it was too late. Painful though, but it was a great learning experience. Very important to treat your soil with nematicide.....leaf miner was the last to show up. Though called the Ibadan office of Agritropic, but it was bit late as I couldn't get somebody to help me get fighter from them...Please how effective was the fighter 35ec for white flies? Did it also work for the leaf miner? Did you have any experience of nematodes? ....Also let us know your rate of application and the quantity per knapsack... This your NEVER USE POULTRY MANURE stuff is a bit confusing. I have always used it. And I am very sure other people will want to know too. Most people are used to poultry manure......Abeg jasper, Soloxam your contributions will also be helpful. Thanks

Crime / Re: Ikare Bank Robbery: The Real Story & Photos (Viewers Discretion) by kaybosedemi(m): 10:57pm On Jan 15, 2015
As at the time I posted the story below on the Ikare robbery , I never knew a family member was involved. He was going back to his station after the burial of his mother last Saturday. The robbers collected his car and shot him afterwards . The sad story is that wife is a nursing mother. Those police men unfortunately ran into them. They never knew any robbery was going on. Another strange thing about these guys is that they shot most of the victims either on the head or neck. They were not given any chance to survive. It was a terrible experience. A guy was shot just because his phone rang while already lying down. It was a black day. The family member was buried yesterday. The robbers also killed people in other towns while they were escaping. May God deliver quick justice on the robbers. May they never know peace in Jesus name. Amen.............
THE STORY

It was a horrific scene in my peaceful town of Ikare Akoko yesterday. When I first heard the initial sounds,I thought they were sound from people blasting rocks not knowing those sounds were sounds of terror.Bombs were going off as if it was a battle ground. Gun shots rained the air like water dropping from the sky. We got to know it was a robbery attack when my neighbour called his wife from where he was lying down in his office . He was already praying to God because one of the robbers was stationed right in front of his office spraying all the shops around. Thank God he couldn't lock his door. Most of the shops that were locked were sprayed with bullet. By this time, he was hiding under the rug in his office and praying to God to open the ground for him to hide there. My mums shop was sprayed. Though she doesn't use the shop. The shop was rented out to somebody. Some occupants were able to escape over the fence to Victory College and Lennon Jubilee high school. The robbers killed without mercy. Those mobile police men were coming from another town and unfortunately ran into them. They were all shot in the car they were in. They were about 5. Before they came into town , they had already destroyed the main police station at igbede killing about 5 civilians at the police station. All the banks in the town were touched. A security guard at first bank said the guy beside him was shot because his phone rang while they were all lying on the door. Bank customers were shot, shop owners were killed. Sad to tell you that the girl that sold the wheat we are still eating at home was killed in the attack. Her head was removed with bullet. We also heard that they were still shooting while they were leaving the town. Other innocent people were also killed. At Jubilee alone , over 10 bodies were counted, excluding casualties in the various banks. By the time we sum up all, I think we should be having over 20 victims. aThey have been coming to rob as usual in the town almost every year, but the lives that were lost yesterday were just too many . Guys, it was a terrible scene. Ikare Akoko mourns. Where else do we run to. First bank had to relocate from their former place at garage to Jubilee cos their former branch there was bombed to the ground in their last attack. Their new branch at Jubilee was opened early last year. All the banks in the town were robbed.Ikare Akoko is in ONDO state and not Lagos. The armoured vehicle of the police men that tried to face them was lifted from the road into the gutter with bomb.This is our plight in Ikare Akoko on a yearly basis. Where do we run to? Why kill innocent and harmless people? May God help us.

This is the hand work of the clueless Mimiko. He was in the Akungba last week to commission the state university senate building with these hooligans you call NANS. All the SUG presidents were there with him. He was there campaigning for Jonathan instead of facing what he came for. Those boys have been bought . They are not the ones speaking na Jonathan money dey talk. I wonder why Nigerian students allow themselves to be used by these greedy fools who call themselves politicians.

@Mercylicious thanks for the compliment. I do not have any relationship with world1. All I said were testimonies from people who have had personal dealings with him. YABDI wouldn't be without him. Kudos also to all the facilitators he brought together to make the project a success. Jasper, Jethro, Kalusam and co. You guys are a blessing to our generation . I salute una. Madam Mercylicious I salute you too. We need people like you and world1 to make this nation great . This is a new dawn for Nigerian youths.So many opportunities for us in agriculture. Madam mercylicious, things dont really have to get to this level. I can confidently say that world1 is a rear breed. How many people can say something and keep to it? He initiated YABDI and it was a success. YABDI is a platform the govt. can learn fromThe YABDI Ogbomoso project was a was an eye opener for people that never knew that farming is a money making investment.. World1 is an established farmer. He is straight forward and keeps to his words. That is why he is always on naira land with pictures of his jobs. We only read on naira land of people setting up /having farms without pictures to show. He is a professional and good at what he does. I have been to his farms to see things for my self. He is on ground and well established. I have also had business deals with him and he did a perfect job. I will advice that you guys settle your differences. You can both benefit from each other. YABDI Ogbomoso project was free. Nobody paid a dime.

world 1 sells products n services with 120% gain from the new farmer. Wow!. This is greed of the highest order.
No wonder he does not own a farm cos he doesnt know what it takes to be a farmer rather uses farmers as his crude oil. Who wont be haughty and arrogant if u have succeeded in taking 120% from the farmer at will. I am really shaking cos this guy is an.expert in greed game. This one pass mkt women deal on fish farmers.

You have said it all. As if Nigerians are even benefitting anything from the oil. And they keep ditching out false figures ...Today we will hear that the economy is growing by certain % and tomorrow they will tell us another thing...Unemployment keep increasing and they will tell the world that they provided more than 1 million jobs within a year...Who are they deceiving .God punish them.As if I care.
