mosquitoway: @ adexcube...i went to vfs today and they still do not have my passport,they told me it isnt compulsory your passprt comes back until trv is issued after medicals ,if cdhc doesnt have other requirements.I just wanted to know if this is true as it seems everyone else had contact with their passport after being called for medicals?pls help

This is exactly what happend wiv me but my passport came later with no conditions attached, I believe the passport like I said is majorly to use as an ID

adexcube: Me sef taya ooo, guess she was talking from her own experience and maybe she knows one or two students with the same case. I mailed them on tuesday and they replied saying my application is still on queue and they are yet to make a final decision on it. But what I notice is that mosquitoway has some hours of flight training experience while I have none for now. All the same God in control. I will still give them time till next month. Got a job in Nov and am enjoying it.lol

@adexcube; tink u shld go to the embassy still and find out wats happening, mosquitoway jst got called for medicals and he's going to a flight skool too, so dat person dat told u it takes 6months for flight skools was jus talking frm a personal experience, diff experiences for different pple.

wow congratulations!!! submit exactly the same way u got ur passport and tell dem u have done ur medicals but b4 u submit, make sure u fulfill all conditions incase thr was any condition attached to ur med instructions, u shld submit tru vfs and collect ur tracking number if u dont have one so u can track till u get ur TRV

Ok, in my own case, I was sent an e-mail on d 19th Dec to do medicalz only for me to receive d instructions on d 7th of january still with no passport, so I had to tell dem @ d clinic dat d embassy dint send my passport but I wld use my driver's license, they agreed, I used an agency, so my medical fees were included in d fee already but wen I was thr I hrd dem giving them bank details to go pay, so if u want to go today, u wld jst be trying ur luck to see if they accept cash, my opinion is if ur not in a hurry, I tink u shld jst chill till monday, also to see if ur passport will be sent but u have to let the embassy knw about the e-mail, so they'll send ur passport to vfs asap.

mosquitoway: congrats...House help me thank God as well,i got an email from cdhc labelled medical instructions,it was a form with my name on it, a barcode and spaces for passport photographs,i submitted on october 11th and got this email yesterday ,my status has not updated on the vfs website,so i do not have my passport,what do i do?should i use my drivers license to go for the medicals?

Did mine with my driver's license and medical instructions, my passport came later but I believe u can use ur driver's license, if ur passport doesn't get to you on time, also u cld wait 4 it if u aint in a hurry to do it, cus wat u need d passport 4 is majorly to identify urself datz all

I included everyone's name, including dose that were jst called, guyz jst give me the dates u did ur medicals, lemme add dem, also if ur awaiting TRV, lemme know, will include ur name.

TRV_IJN: i think you should send them a mail and include this phrase somewhere in it ....it is now 24weeks since CDHC received my application.... quote the correct number of weeks in your own mail to them. Wish you the best bro

I agree with u, its about time u did dat, cuz that may prompt them to look into ur application Asap

@medical awaitees;I put myself in the shoes of those yet to be called, the waiting aint easy at all,wat wld be a solution to this? Is it patience or to go to the embassy and find out wats happening and y ur applications are still pending as @ january, they jst called some1 dat submitted oct 5th, what do u guyz think?

seedgie: @kenny & kayce my friend that i packaged his application, submited oct 5th just got called for medicals 2day through email. Pls hw did u guys do yours. With God all thgs are possible. My hope is increasing evry day for medicals

wow datz awesome, ok wat ur friend can do is take the mail to the embassy and show dem so they can send his passport to Vfs or beta still wen he gets to the embassy, they direct him on wat to do.

Thanks Chief Siga and Sir P for the info, I will be very careful then. Over 1,000dollars is not beans to someone who just enter canny, dat money wld do a lot.

Siga: ...Wind Mobile na one of the cheapest mobile service providers....I believe they moved to Canada like 3 or 4yrs ago...they are from North Africa.....u can get services as low as $25 a month from them.....if u no get phone....u can sign up a 6months contract, deposit $200 and get a simple Blackberry or smaller phone....pay $25 a month and in 6months..u can ask for ur $200 deposit back or u apply it to ur bill...need to know more....get here first...or tap google and dem site

But be warned, their services is not smooth oo...people might call u several times and u cant be reached....u might be on the phone and ur calls may drop anyhow....so...u get wat u pay for...

Thanks for the info oga, my best bet is always good network with good internet service, person go commot for naija with hope say d connection ovr thr will b betta all d way only to meet the same fing.No way o! At least d networks dat r expensive ovr thr can't be outrageously expensive, as long as d connection and internet is ok...perfect deal 4 me.

pharmow: For those coming to Canada this January, try and bring thick winter jackets from naija. If U are the type that like eating spicy foods, bringing enough ground pepper won't be bad idea cos Oyinbo no dey eat pepper o. U can also hold on to powder milk like peak or nido milk, there milk here drives me nut (0% fat). Lastly for your mobile, the best option for student is wind mobile others are damn expensive.

kenniy: i have a may start day already.. would just point them to that in my letter. yes it takes care of it, but i have not made the payment as per cdhc requirement not to make payment till told. will proceed to do that now. abeg anyone know how to avoid paying for accomodation? cos i dont intend to stay on campus.

@coricorde depends on the type you want . But it's very hard to get unlocked phones without ordering them from the maker online .. If you don't mind being locked to a carrier just go to any phone store you want . If its an iPhone. Go to the nearest apple store

Another start date for May, den I have already paid full tuition, no other conditions like accomodation was even attached. What does ur scholarship cover den? Tot the scholarship takes care of ur fees already

kenniy: I went first to the embassy in the morning..and they told me to go for the medicals, and that my package has been resent back to vfs. I woulda done the medicals today, but the crowd was mad, prolly cos of when I got there considering the time i spent at the embassy.i just made payment sha, with the intent of going there tomrw morning to do the medicals..

Did they instruct you to get another start date? they prolly wouldnt in your case, considering they have sent your stuff since dec..but they told me to get another start date, make payment and the likes..funny is..the admission letter i submitted already indicates that I resume winter, spring or fall 2013. so i kinda dont get why they want me to get another date..my assumption is just that they missed that.

Wow, dats serious, thank God u were even able to enter and sort ur case out, another start date ( am gonna do dat too though I wasn't told) mayb they 4got cus I obviously can't meet up cuz my skool starts lectures today, wat other payments did they say u shld make? Skool fees or accomodation?
