This will enable enough time for all readers and writers to be sensitized. It will also allow for better planning and adequate plan B and C's. Plus it will give writers the opportunity to brush and finish up their work. Since there is a time limit, those that update once in a week will speed things up to like 2 updates per day, thereby giving the readers more to enjoy. Plus, its going to ginger every 'currently writing' writer. lol.

Forgive me if i am wrong @repogirl, but i do not think this is a battle of different genres.

What I mean is works would be grouped into genres and the threads that fall into a particular genre will battle for the award FOR THAT GENRE. Different awards for different genres, but at the end of it all, there should be an additional FINAL award for the Best Thread in Sexuality section.

That is the way awards are usually done.

repogirl: Literature thread of the year....does that mean there'll be only one overall winner? If so, then we'll be loosing the initial idea behind the awards which was to have a winner from each genre.

I'm not sure it will be easy or fair to pitch genres against one another. One might care for action stories and not romance and therefore vote for his preference even if the other might be better.

I think these awards should be based on genre.

newcomers award and honorary award do sound good.

To buttress her point, I think there should be awards for different genres, then an award to an overall winner. Just like In Music Awards, you have best hip hop song, best rap, best soul, best rock, best raggae, best collabo, and you also have BEST SONG of the year.

Just my two cents though.

First of all, Thank you very much for commenting Chistar. You are a fantastic writer and it gives me a lot of happiness to have you actually DROP a GREAT comment. Many writers visit threads, read and leave. IT IS NOT RIGHT. This is not a competition. We all have different genres, styles, techniques and story lines. NL is big enough to accommodate all of us. Why would I read a fellow writer's work and not make comments? That is selfish and not really nice. A word of encouragement now and then, even constructive criticism will help boost the morale of the writer. I used to be very guilty of this but I realized this and made sure that any 'story' thread I visit, I drop a comment.

I wanna take my time to read and catch up with both of your threads, then I can comment. I have started already.

Now,

Why not be different in the manner you update? I mean, since other tv movie series get shown only once daily, you can make yours twice(say, 3pm and 8pm). I know its gonna be difficult due to your schedule but you can make one quite short and the normal 8pm own as long as usual

Also, tv series don't miss episodes for any reason, but you are human and bound to miss episodes, so I suggest you somehow figure out a way to make up for each episode you miss.
I do not intend to miss any episodes any longer. But if i do, I promise to make up for it henceforth.


Err.. This can be ignored since its just a suggestion but try and add a little comedy relief to you story

And one more last thing, don't the 'previously on A.N.W.E' take you time to compile, you can leave it out since I believe it is adding to your wahala, your story is very hard to forget so its quite unnecessary to keep on reminding us what happened before since we can clearly remember.
This is quite encouraging bro. But the thing is, I feel that readers assimilate at different levels. Some are very quick, others take in slowly, some forget, some need to be 'gingered'. That is why I add the 'previously' part. Shebi you dey watch all these TV Series na. Them dey always say, Previously on Vampire Diaries. Na him I copy o. However, I have decided to make it not as lengthy as previous ones so as to have more time to write.

Dear Readers,

First of all, I would like to really thank you for all the comments, the views, the encouragement and the criticisms. I really appreciate them. Whether you believe it or not, you guys are the reason I write. And I always seek to make you happy.

Now, I am not writing "An Evening With Eva" as a story. I want you to please read it as if it's a movie. I am doing something which is one of a kind. I would want you to imagine that you are watching a TV Series. That is the reason I update once EVERY WEEKDAY at 8pm. I have other threads which are longer and follow chronological order of events. Why would I bring you something you see on NL everyday? That is the reason for my style. The Plot, the different Events, the characters and the theme.

I know you are hungry for more, you want to experience more. You will have more. That is why i have decided to increase the length of my updates. Believe me, this is not easy. Ask any writer. They will tell you how tasking it is to come up with something that the readers will enjoy. I spend hours coming up with 'live' updates. I like dishing them as they come to my head, not write and keep, then update later. Moreover I have a very hectic work schedule. I am the Head of IT operations for an organization and it is NOT moi moi. I close at 6pm and get home at the earliest 7pm, AND I WANT TO KEEP UPDATING AT 8PM.

Many have sent me emails, BBM messages and telling me my description of the Police Force is over hyped, the scenes are too 'Jack Bauer-ish' and that i should tone it down. This is pure fiction and I am writing it the way I feel our Police force ought to be. We are too mediocre in this part of the world and I think the time for an upgrade is NOW. This is my dream Naija villian and Police force, not the petty crimes we hear about. I don't know if any one agrees with me.

Finally, no one forced me to start this thread. Na me carry my hand go look for trouble by myself. I brought it upon myself. So I owe every one a duty to finish this up and be consistent. I promise you, I WILL. I have put my thread on sexuality section on hold for this. I promise to be better.

Plus, I can only be myself. I can be compared to other fantastic writers which I appreciate but believe me, its impossible to be them.

Suggestions, questions, criticisms are welcome. No one is an island.

UPDATES TONIGHT AT 8PM.

Sexitee03: You have a right to be angry, but also you have a obligation to be considerate. Writing is not easy, sometime you know what you want to write but the words to put it down won't come, sometimes you are writing but it doesn't make sense to you then you clear it off again. Sometime there's a writers block. Sometimes you are to busy, sometimes you just don't feel like writing at all, don't forget we the writers are human too and we have other responsibilities. Yes no one forced us to start a thread but still no one told us our fans will be so demanding. Some of the fans give you some negative criticism that you just wish you never started. Most of you don't comment when you read and enjoy, you leave the writer guessing if he or she has written a good piece, but let there be a grammatical error, or a late update, you will be all over them. It's not fair at all. So when you criticize and get angry, also remember we are human and doing our best to make you happy. And to you kev, never start what you can't finish knowing you have a responsibilities to your fans. Stay blessed sweets, more ink to your pen.

Kay is my guy. This is a positive criticism of his work. He need to come out and tell us when to expect updates: monthly or yearly, so we don't dance #skelewu down here expectant and leave disappointed.
