Have you seen him dressed up traditionally?...no difference with his Igbo causens. NNEWIsuper: Tell that to someone who doesn't know the Yorubas...SE(Igbo) is the most monolithic entity in Nigeria as at today, .forget the online banters..but in real sense Ondo and Ekiti people aren't Yoruba...even Ijebu isn't Yoruba... Oduduwa didn't fall in okun and as such they're not Yorubas...even in Kwara they're no real Yoruba people there because rather a half cast of Fulani and Yoruba breed..Deal with it SE is the weakest region when it comes to ethnic cohesion. You can fool yourself, but you aren't fooling no one else |

NNEWIsuper: It doesn't matter whether you're from Ondo or not...infact that makes it even simpler..can an osun person or Ogbomosho person understand your dialect? The answer is know, as far as I know you only speak general Yoruba language which u learnt from them as neighbors aside that nothing makes u Yoruba and you're not together with Ekiti and okun people of Kogi... Look at this one. You think the way Igbos divide themselves into different caste is applicable to Yorubas? You forget that you guys have always been in a caste system (Osu) even before the colonials? Please deal with your inherent disease where Nsukka isn't real Igbo, Imo workers can't work in Abia State, Ebonyi are third class Igbos, Anambra are superior breed igbos, Anioma and Ikwere wanting not to be associated with you lots and Osu folks are still discriminated against. Yorubas are one. Egbe Omo'Odua |

Culture › Re: Countries Where Yoruba Language Is Widely Spoken by kayfra: 1:51am On Dec 31, 2019 |
Kapeter: Let m start from Home.
Nigeria
Yoruba people have their roots in this very country as you all know.
Benin Republic
Yorua and fon make the two largest tribe in this country. The Yoruba people of Benin actually refuse to have the english colonialist as their master but rather ran to the French voluntarily who where then at the neighboring Togo and henve they were merged with the fons, they'd have eventually be part of Nigeria today.
Togo
Yoruba is spoken by minority Yoruba migrant, Yoruba is never an indegineous tribe here but just a couple of migrants who doesn't abandon their language. Adebayor is a popular son of a Yoruba migrant. The Yorubas in Togo are migrants mainly from today Nigeria.
Ghana
during the slave trading era, Yorubas then migrated in numbers and in such cases, Yorubas migrated to alot of other wetern(Africa) countries. Yorubas in Ghana have been there for over 200 years but of course are not indigineous, mostly migrated from present day Nigeria. So you will surely regularly find Yoruba language speaker in Ghana.
Notable mention of indegineous Yoruba people of Ghana are the Tabom people of Ghana though they've lost their heritage and communicate in portuguese and local ghanaian dialect.
Ivory Coast
Just like Ghana, this former french colony also is home to Yoruba migrants, they were early migrants who has been living in the country for so long but i really cannot say in particular for how long but you will surely randomly meet people speaking Yoruba on the street of Ivory Coast.
Sierra Leone
Unlike Ghana, Ivory coast and Togo Yoruba language is indegineous to Sierra Leone but some and most of the Yoruba words doesn't really mean the same thing with the original Yoruba words. This is because the language has evolved that it has mixed with their indigineuos language. Although you will still regurlaly meet children of early migrants that still speak the language as it is from the source.
Yorubas even though in minority were part of creation of sierra leone and i think this is the reason the Yoruba language is now part and parvel of their general local dialect. Yorubas are also indigenous to Togo apart from the migrants. They are known as the Ife subgroup of the Nago people |

Keep shouting weak retort while an Uchenna is currently being tranformed to a Tubosun. You know you are helpless about it. In 50 years, you'll need to travel to Ebonyi before you find 100% Igbo DNA. It's all getting mixed up now where it counts (your women) |
Politics › Re: Open Letter To My Yoruba Brothers by kayfra: 5:05am On Dec 29, 2019 |
Gandollaar: The only reason more yoruba men are going for Igbo women is only because they stay in their marriage than their yoruba counterparts.
The rate of divorce in Yoruba land is appalling.
Every million the man makes means a new wife. And before the new wife comes, the old one is already out and onto another marriage.
She does this a couple of times before finally settling down on her own with 5 children from 5 husbands.
We call them the "IYA DAGBES" For every Igbo on Igbo marriage. We have a Yoruba man on Igbo woman marriage. Potential Chukwudis are now Babatundes and Olufemis. Sucks that Igbo women are even more comfortable speaking Yoruba and have no idea of how to speak Igbo language. It sucks that every Igbo that wants to be successful in entertainment has to adapt to Yoruba to make a dent. Yoruba is simply cool and more universally accepted. You know we are eroding your essence and identity and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it |
