Hello Dsquare, I am really sorry to bother you. Please can you give me the contact information for the guy whose place you wanted to put up at Withby Ontario. Many thanks, I tried to email you via narialand but I am not sure my message went through. |
Deyonsesi:Thank you so much, you've been of great help! |
Sabi mama's and Pappas I greet you all. Please has anyone recently renewed their child's US passport in Nigeria. If yes, what was the process like ie seamless or otherwise? I have read about the requirements ie the form, photos etc but I just want to know if it's worth renewing here in naija or whether I should travel to the US to renew it before it expires. Many thanks in advance. |
Testimonytime:Hi dear, I have replied. Please check. |

bizzle6:Thanks dear... You need to keep calling their billings department. Explain to them that you need it for visa renewal purposes. Usually it's the billing department/ financial counsellor that is more useful here. I hope this helps. |

[quote author=Omodadi2 post=64697930]@Kayjay23, please where did you have your interview? Sorry for your refusal. Not all hospitals give the itemized list as we have read here, and also someone went without it and was granted visa. Its inside same itemized bill that some VO picked up the issue of self PA fee and insurance fee for the hospital without looking at other receipts presented. Just call your Thanks dear. My interview was in Abuja. I have requested for the itemized bill from my hospital so fingers crossed. PS: Just read your update. This birth thing seems to be changing by the day. Don't lose faith dear. |

Good afternoon fam. I applied for a dropbox renewal after i had my baby in 2016. Was called for the famous 221g interview. Went there with all my receipts and other burden of proof documents. VO: passports please ME: gave her VO: where are you visiting in the US? ME: Washington VO: how long are you going For? Me: 3 weeks VO: have you been to the US before? Me: yes on two occasions VO: last time you went to the US what did you go For? Me: I went to have my baby VO: Do you have the receipts? Me: yes please. I hand all receipts to her including a tabulated breakdown of my expenditure to show how much the entire trip cost. VO: looks through then asks...Do you have an itemized receipt. Me: no ma'am I wasn't given any by the hospital. All they gave me was a zero balance letter and another letter that stated that I paid my bill in full. VO: leaves her seat for a while and comes back with a yellow paper. Ma'am at this time no decision has been reached on your application until you provide the itemized bill from the hospital. On the yellow paper she wrote that I will need to provide the itemized bill from the hospital before further processing will continue. The yellow paper is to be submitted alongside my passport and itemized bill at dhl... So na. so I waka today. Just thought to share. Please who has an itemized bill and what does it look like? Cheers! |
Omodadi2:Thank you so much Omodadi. |
Hello everyone. Please has anyone tried to schedule a 221g follow up appointment very recently? I have tried in the last three days without any success. The appointment calender just comes out blank without any dates or time. I have emailed the US embassy in Abuja, the support centre and also contacted the call centre. Still no progress. Please are there any other suggestions on what I can possibly do? Many thanks. |
omohwunmmy: Hello everyone, thanks for Sharing your experiences. I and my husband just got our visa. For Kayjay and everyone applying for visa I think honesty and God's Favour is all that you require. We filled our form diligently and we told them at the interview we were going to have our baby, the only document the consular asked for was our letter and communication with Doctoresparati, he asked how much we planned for the trip, where we will be staying and how long i plan to stay post birth . He said our visa has been approved and I should contact them if I need to stay beyond 6 months in US. The only country hubby and I have been to is Benin republic so our passport was not loaded with international trips.Congratulations and thanks for sharing Omohwunmmy! God bless! |
Desertorange71: Kayjay23,[quote author=Desertorange71]Thank you so much desertorange71! you've allayed many of my fears and I am sure there are some silent readers that will learn from your answers too! Thanks again! |
Desertorange71: Kayjay23,Thanks a lot Desertorange71! Again like Oliver Twist if you do not mind I have the following questions: 1.) At the embassy when you were applying for your visa, did you show them the invitation/responsibility letter from the hospital at elpaso? 2.) what did you tell the consular officer your purpose of going to the US was? 3.) What was your point of entry? And what was your experience like? 4.) Apart from the enrolment fees did you make any other payments to the hospital in Elpaso before your visa appointment? 5.) At what stage of your pregnancy did you travel? so sorry, I am asking all too many questions, but I just want to learn from your successful case. Thanks in advance and regards to the baby! |
Thank you so much Favoured gal, Babababy and Desertorange71! you guys are so sweet! Desertorange71, I will eagerly await your return! God bless everyone! ![]() |
My people, I am still waiting oh for a response from you guys! Favoured gal, Babababy, Uchetobi and others where are you guys? Help a sister ![]() Again, how does respond if one is asked, 'why do you want to give birth in the US when you have very good hospitals and facilities in Nigeria?' Especially if your pregnancy is not a high risk one? Thanks! |
Hello everyone! I have been a quiet follower of this thread. I have learnt so much! Thank you so much guys for sharing and God bless you all! Like almost everyone here, I intend to give birth in the US. But its going to be sometime next year. I haven't got my visa yet and hubby, daughter and I intend to apply early next year. I have taken time to read this thread from page1 till the last page.:-)! However, I have the following questions and anyone should please feel free to answer them! @ Favoured gal: 'Take your time to fill out your ds160 form in a convincing manner as if you wont have a chance at interview. When filliing out your purpose dont just write 'to give birth', go the extra length to write how much you earn monthly, how much you have saved, how you have communicated with xyz hospital and the estimated bill plus your ticket, upkeep, miscellaneous is xyz...and with your savings you can foot the bill easily." 1.) How possible is this? considering the fact that the application form (DS160) does not provide room for additional information. In the section for 'purpose of travel' you can only choose a particular one i.e (Business/personal) 2.) I have been warned by several people not to mention the fact that I am pregnant at the embassy during my interview as that would mean automatic refusal of the visa. but I believe and as I have learnt from this thread, that if I can proof that I have the means/ resources to support this cause, I would not be denied. (what do you guys think?) 3.) Thirdly, I have a family friend in Maryland who is willing to give me an invitation letter for the purpose of vacation, however I won't be visiting Maryland as I intend to go straight to Elpaso Texas. Do you guys think this invitation letter would be necessary? Many thanks as I await your responses! God bless us all! |
