It's easy to say. How do I find a school that charges roughly 1000euro for school fee per year and doesn't require a TOEFL or some kinda certification to be enrolled. I just assume it's risky to pay 1300euros upfront before getting an admission. I'd have gladly paid the amount if it were to be paid after admission letter.

Before nko.. Dem go give u admission letter without paying school fees?
Did you read through it all? It's not school fee brother and too exorbitant to be called an application fee. If my application process is to be considered I must pay that sum and it's nonrefundable.

Travel / Should I Pay 1300euros B4 I Get An Admission Letter 4rm A School In Portugal by kayles: 8:43am On May 06, 2017
Hello everyone, I've really been seeking out a foreign school where I can apply for my MSc with low cost tuition and I found one but they've asked me to pay 1300euro before I even get an admission/acceptance letter. Nigerians studying in Portugal, please I need your contribution. I'll post the mail they sent me. The school is Polytechnic Institute of Braganca (IPB).

Dear Student,
I inform you about the IPB master program:

Foreign students who wish to enroll in a Master programme at the IPB should have completed a degree in a 1st cycle course, organized according to the principles of Bologna Process, or have a degree recognized as an undergraduate course by the Scientific Council of the higher education institution that bestows the degree.
The application process step by step
1st step - Provide the documentation
To apply to a Master programme, you should provide the following documents:
• Application form;
• Authenticated transcript of your previous degree(s). This document should be in English, French or Spanish, or be accompanied by a certified translation in English. Also, the original document should be certified by the Hague Convention Apostille;
• Curriculum Vitae in English, Spanish or French;
• Photocopy of passport.

The documents should be sent to the International Relations Office:

International Relations Office
Instituto Politécnico de Bragança
Campus de Santa Apolónia
5300-253 Bragança - Portugal
E-mail: natalia@ipb.pt
2nd step - Payment of emoluments
The emoluments for the admission process are 1.300,00 EUR, you need to pay this value when you formalize the application and send me the documents, and this value is non-refundable.
Only after the payment of this fee the process will be considered for analysis. The International Relations Office (IRO) will send you all the details concerning the bank transfer.

3rd step - Verify your mailbox
After the admission process has been concluded, we will send you an email confirming if you were admitted at IPB.
4th Step - Request your visa
After you receive an email stating that you were accepted at IPB, you need to confirm your interest in studying at IPB and request us the necessary documentation for visa formalities.
5th Step - Health Insurance and Accommodation
The IPB provides an insurance which only covers accidents that occur on the Institute premises during the days and months that school is open for classes. International students should take out a private health insurance in the respective country of origin. It is recommended that students acquire previous knowledge of all the conditions and coverage foreseen in Portugal. Also, you should present your Individual health bulletin with regularized anti-tetanus vaccine at your arrival at the IPB.
The IPB can’t provide accommodation for international students in the students’ residences. Nevertheless, the International Office can help you finding housing. Please contact us via email (natalia@ipb.pt).
6th Step - Arriving at IPB
When arriving at the IPB, you should go to the International Relations Office. We will guide to the Academic Services to formalize your enrolment. You will need to present your Individual health bulletin with regularized anti-tetanus vaccine. Also, you will be requested to pay the first installment and the enrolment fee. Education / Re: I Applied For MSc But Foreign Supervisor Said School Is Accepting Me For PhD by kayles: 9:47pm On May 04, 2016
Hey man that's smth nice you've got going for yourself. Don't let anybody take that joy away from you (likes of distracters). Having a PGD has brought you an edge closer to an MSc curriculum. There's nothing to be scared about in getting an education(PhD), it's all about books and reading them, research and validating it's hypothesis, then you write all about what you've read. My advice is you take it, so you don't regret it. If you believe in yourself like I already do then you can nail this thing. Be positive.

Romance / 5 Mistakes I Make In My Marriage Everyday by kayles: 10:35pm On Apr 29, 2016
These are all a lady's view. Enjoy
5 mistakes I continue to make in my marriage, and how I try to address them.
One of the main themes of my happiness project is marriage . For me, as with many people, my marriage is one of the most central elements in my life, my home, and my happiness.
When I started my happiness project, and I reflected about the changes I wanted to make, I realized I had five particular problem areas in my marriage. Here they are, along with the strategies I try to use to address them, though they remain challenging:
1. Demanding gold stars . Oh, how I crave appreciation and recognition! I always want that gold star stuck to my homework. But my husband just isn’t very good at handing out gold stars, and that makes me feel angry and unappreciated.
In response, I now think more about doing things for myself. I used to tell myself I was doing nice things for him – “He’ll be so happy to see that I put all the books away,” “He’ll be so pleased that I finally got the trunk packed for camp” etc. – then I’d be mad when he wasn’t appreciative. Now I tell myself that I’m doing these things because I want to do them. “Wow, the kitchen cabinets look great!” “I’m so organized to have bought all the supplies in advance!” Because I do things for myself, I don’t expect him to respond in any particular way.
2. Using a snappish tone . I have a very short fuse and become irritable extremely easily – but my husband really doesn’t like it when I snap at him (big surprise). I’ve done a lot to try to keep my temper in check. I don’t let myself get too hungry or too cold (I fall into these states very easily); I try to keep our apartment in reasonable order, because a mess makes me crabby; when he tries to make a joke out of my temper, I try to laugh along; I try to control my voice to keep it light and cheery instead of accusatory and impatient. Confession: I’ve worked on this issue relentlessly for years, and still have a really tough time with it. For instance, I spoke in a snappish tone just last night.
3. Not showing enough consideration. . Studies show that married people treat each other with less civility than they show to other people — and I do this with my husband, I know. I’m working hard on basic consideration, such as giving him warm greetings and farewells, not reading my emails while talking to him on the phone, etc. Very basic, I know.
4. Score-keeping . I’m a score-keeper , always calculating who has done what. “I cleaned up the kitchen, so you have to run to the store” — that sort of thing. I’ve found two ways to try to deal with this tendency.
First, I remind myself of the phenomenon of
unconscious over-claiming ; i.e., we unconsciously overestimate our contributions or skills relative to other people’s. This makes sense, because of course we’re far more aware of what we do than what other people do. According to Jonathan Haidt’s The Happiness Hypothesis, “when husbands and wives estimate the percentage of housework each does, their estimates total more than 120 percent.” I complain about the time I spend paying bills, but I overlook the time my husband spends dealing with our our car. It’s easy to see that over-claiming leads to resentment and an inflated sense of entitlement. So now when I find myself thinking, “I’m the only one around here who bothers to…” or “Why do I always have to be the one who…?” I remind myself of all the tasks I don’t do.
Second, I remind myself of the words of my
spiritual master , St. Therese of Lisieux: “When one loves, one does not calculate.” That precept is the basis for my 11th Personal Commandment: No calculation.
5. Taking my husband for granted. Just as I find it easily to overlook the chores done by my husband (see #4), it’s easy for me to forget to appreciate his many virtues and instead focus on his flaws. For example, although I find it hard to resist using an irritable tone, my husband almost never speaks harshly, and that’s really a wonderful trait. I’m trying to stay alert to all the things I love about him, and let go of my petty annoyances. This is easier said than done.
I’ve found that working to keep my resolution to Kiss more, hug more, touch more is an effective way to help me stay in loving, appreciative frame of mind, with my husband and my daughters, too. KMHMTM is one of my very favorite resolutions! It doesn’t take any extra time, energy, or money, and it makes a real difference in the atmosphere of my home.
What are some mistakes you make in your marriage or long-term relationship? Have you found any useful strategies for addressing them?

Kath5kouture:

Did you think I school in Nigeria! pls who can identify and correct the grammatical blunder in that sentence? undecided BTW if this is how the so called 'abroad graduates' speak and act then I think I'm better off in my country.
Well it depends on where she is right now with her schooling. If she's done with school the correct statement should be "Did you think I schooled in Nigeria" and if she's still in school then the correct statement would be "Do you think I school in Nigeria". No one is perfect with English though, even the English, Irish and Scottish people make mistakes. Americans are worse off. By the way I've seen everyone's comment, I had intended to be quiet but the grammatical correction spurred me to write. The op's story seem outlandish but I've experienced something similar. A female fb friend with about two mutual friends I guess, I had graduated at that time and she was still in school. I've never met her or knew she existed before meeting her on fb, so I decided to become a chat pal with her although I had some motives but they were to come in steps i.e gradually. She was pretty no doubt and I wanted to know her more. I'm the kind of guy that starts out with friendship first before I could ask you out or start feeling any specie of butterfly in my stomach. Back to the gist, I sent her a message of Hi or Hello twice on different occasions and she ignored them so I locked up meanwhile these messages had a space of at least 3-4months between them. All these happened in 2012/2013. Since then I had forgotten about her, although she's still a fb friend, recently last year in 2015 she sent me a message saying Hello, I responded like a gentleman that I am with a HI. Some other time she said Hello again without a follow up message and I just had to say Hi. Since then I haven't heard from her. Bottom line is some ladies later find out that they've overreacted or they've been way too pedantic about social media greetings. It's social media not your street, I won't jump out of your screen to molest you. Caution could now be exercised when you know their intentions or seem to know where they want to drift towards.

Education / The Left Side Of Your Brain Controls The Timing And Rhythm Of Your Body. by kayles: 12:27pm On Apr 08, 2016
Hello there. Found this trick and thought I could maneuver it but I couldn't. Tripping up the two sides of your brain. Here's how:
Lift your right foot a few inches from the floor and then begin to move it in a clockwise direction. While you’re doing this, use a finger, your right index finger to draw a number 6 in the air. Your foot will turn in an anti-clockwise direction - no matter what you do.
So, why does this happen?
The left side of your brain, controls the right side of your body, and is responsible for timing and rhythm. The left side of your brain cannot deal with operating two opposite movements at the same time. The result? A combined single motion.
