ivieeseosa:Na only for SM una get mouth. What PDP strongholds in Lagos wasn't election held? What strongholds in Kaduna wasn't it held? My guy said it's fairly simple and based on what you put up there, you've failed. Also the other lawyer will just be staring at you right? They won't provide evidence of irregularities that favored PDP as well? |
“Remember that the gap between former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and President Buhari is about four million votes,” Agbakoba said. This is the main point!! You have to provide proof to wipe out the 4 million difference. He also has to do this without canceling any of his own votes |
TroubleMaker47:He'll prove 4 million votes?? Good luck to him. Also won't it affect his own votes too? There were pockets of rigging but not enough to affect the entire election. Look at Lagos, all the noise on social media was because of one PU. Will anyone cancel/overturn because of that? Atiku will provide his videos of rigging, APC too will provide their videos of rigging. I want Atiku to go to court but Atikulators let your consolation be that future electoral processes may be better due to the court case not that this election will be overturned, save yourselves another heartbreak. It'll never happen that they'll find enough invalid votes to take away Buhari's lead and put Atiku ahead. Also there's not enough to void the entire process and do fresh new elections. Fresh new elections would be worse cos it's not like they'll be able to apply any changes to the process. In Kenya when new elections were supposed to be done, the opposition dropped out because he said there was no point. Buhari didn't win this thing with 400,000 votes, he won by 4 million. They didn't get 4 million with these small pockets of irregularities |
tollyboy5:I understand you better now. |
tollyboy5:Ok so you're a Lagosian? If you are, then your complaints are legitimate |
tollyboy5:Yeah sacrifices of our ancestors that ended only in Lagos. I’m not sure how your hypocrisy isn’t giving you a headache. People build cities, states, countries. Whole countries have been rebuilt since when Lagos has been capital last, just in case that’s your weak argument. There’s no reason other states shouldn’t be more developed than they are. APC destroyed Lagos but PDP only held back funds that was meant for development and welfare of the people of the state. Most states would have collapsed if this had happened which is what PDP were counting on then. Fact is, Tinubu got creative and did what he could to make sure the state he loves keeps functioning. Plus Oga, read properly I said IGR not GDP, surely you must know they mean different things right? |
nzeobi:Are you kidding me? Bayelsa, small state, small population, one of the highest allocations in the country and you're boasting of an airport in how many years? Then airline, what does that have to do with anything? An airline is to boost IGR, lets see how that'll work out. Fact is, Lagos has the largest IGR in the country so it means they're doing a lot right. Lagos has invested in infrastructure more than any state, lets talk facts here. Lagos has invested in housing. Lagos is the 5th largest economy in Africa, that's more than just paying thugs. If PDP didn't try to stifle development in Lagos for 16 years we'll have gone further. Bring a state that can boast of development more than Lagos, let's compare. It's not about building an airport in a state no one wants to go to. Bayelsa should be a state that if you don't have money to travel abroad, you should be able to quickly get there to chill. Development in that state should be mind blowing, again, considering the size of the state, the population and the allocation. Plus give evidence of this airport cos I haven't come across anything like that before. |
Jlow2:That's a lie. Reason you guys will keep failing in your attempts. Ambode was performing below expectations. Tinubu is smart so he listened to the majority. Someone like Tinubu will keep on benefiting no matter who's there so it was about performance. As far as not settling people, Ambode canceled all PSPs and replaced them with his company. Now if his company succeeded, it'll have been a different story, fact is they failed woefully. Lagos became so dirty, level of dirt we had not seen since the military era. I know a couple of what Ambode did that I won't spill here but he was horrible, he was selfish, he was greedy, he was incompetent. If Ambode picked up from where Fashola left off, we would have gone a lot farther. It felt like he dragged us back |
oldman112:How do we pay the money back? Abeg leave story. You think all the money Jonathan spent in 2015 has magically come back to him? Please just go do small research on his situation right now. The only way the money comes back is if they win. If Atiku spends money in Lagos, he'll waste his money and that money will be gone forever. I really do hope he spends, it's always a good thing when people have more money to spend, it'll stimulate their local economy small |
DemolaUnbias:That's what some of these morons don't get. Tinubu has always been seen as someone that protects the interest of Lagos. There's a sense he loves the state. You'll see that by his choice of candidates. You can say he chops money or whatever but the man heavily reinvests in the state which says a lot more about other politicians that fleece a state and can't wait to take the money elsewhere. Tinubu's relationship with Lagos is give and take, not just take take take like ppl like Saraki. Tinubu helped in removing Ambode not because he wasn't paying Tinubu, as a matter of fact Ambode did more for Tinubu than Fashola did, however too many complaints and Ambode was working below the standards set. We want someone that wants the best for the state and not just their selfish interests. Also Lagos did their otoge movement when the PDP government held back funds from the state and Tinubu had to come up with a way top keep the state running by generating revenue internally for the state. Same PDP wants to come back and do what? God forbid! |
hisexcellency34:Nope!! We're good, thank you! You can stay where you are please and improve it. Don't come and destroy what we're enjoying here. This person doesn't even live in Lagos and wants to protest, just because. Enemies of progress. A lot of y'all just know Lagos falling into the hands of PDP means failure, you guys are so anxious for Lagos to join your league of failing states |
nkwuocha:Lol! Mention the place na! You dey fear? |
nkwuocha:Fact is, we get sense more than anywhere you come from. Just mention the place. |
nkwuocha:Everybody will die one day! Whenever her leaves this earth, that's his time. If God didn't want him here, he'll have died before he ever became this influential. If he dies today, his legacy in Lagos and Nigeria politics will live on. Let's get back to the living, as long as he's alive we trust his judgment. Tinubu isn't a Saraki that just chops money without any development in his State. Look around Lagos, infrastructural development everywhere. Ambode was removed because he didn't follow the master plan as he should so he was removed for someone more capable. Believe me, if all that happened in Lagos is that Tinubu just chopped money, he'll be gone. There's a sense Tinubu genuinely loves Lagos and protects her interest. For that reason, Tinubu will have the support of Lagosians forever. |
All these "prophets" God is merciful! |
https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-africa-47400317?__twitter_impression=true The re-election of Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria's president may not have come as much of a surprise to many Nigerians, but there have been some major upsets in the parliamentary polls. Most shocking has been the collapse of some powerful "godfathers", who use money and influence to win support for themselves and to sponsor their preferred candidates in elections. Defectors, those who switched sides between the two main parties ahead of the polls, have also fared badly. Here some of the big losers and winners from the vote on 23 February 2019: Losers Bukola Saraki - senate president The defeat of the third-most powerful political office holder in the country has to be the biggest upset. Not only is the 56-year-old the current senate president, but he was also the campaign manager for the opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP). There is no love lost between Bukola Saraki and the president, who initiated a corruption inquiry against him. The Supreme Court cleared him of the charges last July - and the next month he defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He had been seeking re-election to the senate to represent Kwara Central, but the APC's Ibrahim Oloriegbe clinched the seat, effectively ending the dominance of the "Saraki dynasty" over Kwara's politics for the last 50 years. It is believed that many in the state were fed up with alleged lack of development in the north-western state, leading to the formation of the "O To Ge" movement, meaning "Enough is Enough", which campaigned against him and the other candidates he sponsored and supported, who were all heavily defeated. Godswill Akpabio - senator, Akwa Ibom North-West Godswill Akpabio A political godfather in the oil-rich state of Akwa Ibom, where he twice served as governor, Godswill Akpabio spectacularly lost his senate seat to his former colleague, PDP candidate Chris Ekpenyong. The campaign was bitter, violent and full of accusations and counter-accusations of fraud and manipulation. The trouble all stemmed from his political fallout with his "godson" Emmanuel Udom, his hand-picked successor and the state's current governor. This forced the 56-year-old to defect to the APC, but it was a tactic that has seen him fall flat on his face - and the PDP has retained all the seats contested in the southern state. It is now almost certain that Mr Udom will retain the governorship come the state election on 9 March. The ‘godfathers’ who pull the strings in Nigeria's election Rabiu Kwankwaso - political godfather, Kano Rabiu Kwankwaso A current senator and two-time governor of the northern state of Kano, Rabiu Kwankwaso was not seeking re-election but all the candidates he was backing as a political godfather have lost. He has been a dominant figure in Nigeria's most-populous state for the last two decades and his Kwankwasiyya political fan club has a large following not only in Kano but in other parts of northern Nigeria. It is his second blow in recent times - he tried to gain the PDP ticket last year to run for president, but lost out to Atiku Abubakar. The 62-year-old had defected to the PDP after falling out with his former ally and successor as governor Umar Ganduje. Tweeters have been joking that he is persona not grata in the PDP and Kano - though his candidate for governor is still in with a chance on 9 March: George Akume - senator, Benue North-West George Akume The 65-year-old APC politician has dominated life in the central state of Benue politics for 20 years. George Akume was first elected governor in 1999, moved to senate in 2007 and since then many of his hand-picked candidates have won major elections in the state. However, Saturday's poll effectively brought his dominance to a humiliating end. His defeat has largely been attributed to his recent fallout with current Governor Samuel Ortom, whom he helped bring to power in 2015, and his decision to remain loyal to President Buhari amid worsening clashes between farmers and herders in the state. Herders tend to be mainly nomadic Fulani Muslims and farmers are largely Christian. Many blame Mr Buhari, a Fulani Muslim, for not doing enough to resolve the conflict - although the president has always denied any bias in dealing with the situation. Shehu Sani - senator, Kaduna Central Shehu Sani One of the most vocal critics of President Buhari's policies, Shehu Sani has lost his senate seat to a candidate of the governing APC. The 51-year-old's defeat may not come as a surprise given his long-standing rivalry with the current governor of the northern state of Kaduna, Nasir el-Rufa'i, even though they were in the same party at one stage. The two have often sparred over policies that descended into Twitter wars. The author, playwright and human rights activist - one of the few Nigerian politicians to declare his assets - was popular with his constituents but last October left the APC to join the little-known of People's Redemption Party. Banky W - singer and actor Olubankole Wellington, known by his stage name Banky W, was trying to get a seat in the House of Representatives for the Eti-Osa contititency in Lagos. The 37-year-old rapper may have ultimately lost, but he did win at two polling units in the district, including the one where Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo voted. He posted on social media after the poll: "I hope we look back at what we accomplished in just three months, and it shows us what we can do with the next four years. I hope we realise that winning some areas in Eti-Osa… is proof that we can do this anywhere." Dino Melaye - senator, Kogi West Image copyright DINO MELAYE Dino Melaye The controversial senator representing central Kogi state has defied the odds to comfortably defend his seat. Nicknamed the "singing senator", Dino Melaye has been embroiled in several legal and political battles with the police, the state government and the governing APC. The PDP politician has generated lots of attention because of his expensive lifestyle. The 45-year-old was criticised for boasting about his ostentatious wealth during a cameo in a music video by Nigerian rapper Kach. But many see his re-election as testimony to the power of grassroots politics as his constituents have stood with him despite numerous scandals, just as they did when his opponents tried to get a petition to recall him last year. And, living up to his name, he gave thanks in song after his victory Aishatu Binani - senatorial candidate, Adamawa Central The 47-year-old is the only female senator from the north to be elected to the upper chamber of parliament. Even though Aishatu Binani ran for the governing APC, her victory came as a surprise because she was from the mainly Muslim north-eastern Adamawa State, the birthplace of the main opposition candidate, Mr Abubakar. The PDP won the state in the presidential vote but Ms Binani defied all expectations and comfortably defeated all her powerful male rivals. Her victory will serve as a relief for northern women after the only female senator in the outgoing parliament, Binta Garba, also from Adamawa, lost her re-election on an APC ticket. According to the UN, Nigeria has one of the lowest rates of female participation in parliament. Kola Balogun - senatorial candidate, Oyo South Image copyright KOLA BALOGUN Kola Balogun The victory of this PDP candidate in Oyo is a major shock, especially for supporters of the governing APC in the south-western state. Kola Balogun's victory has prevented the outgoing governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi, from joining the league of ex-governors who traditionally move to the senate. It is not common in Nigerian politics to see incumbent governors losing elections. It is also Mr Balogun's second return to the senate, having represented the district from 2004 to 2007. Yakubu Dogara - speaker of the House of Representatives The 51-year-old was among several politician who dumped the governing APC party last year. Many thought that move was going to cost Yakubu Dogara his seat because his home in the northern Bauchi State has been a stronghold of President Buhari. However, Mr Dogara, a Christian who has been representing the Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa constituency since 2007, survived his toughest political test to defeat the ruling party candidate. Many of his constituents are Christians, in the mainly Muslim state, but he also won support from an influential leader of the Tijaniyya Muslim sect. He will almost certainly lose his position as speaker in the national assembly, however, because the APC will pick one of its own MPs, but his victory was surely one of the most eye-catching. Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate The founder of the popular online paper Sahara Reporters may have lost in the presidential race - he came 10th out of more than 70 candidates - but the vocal pro-democracy campaigner did so without any big party backing or the support of a godfather. The 48-year-old, who is popular with young people, took nearly 34,000 votes, a figure clearly dwarfed by Mr Buhari's 15 million and Mr Atiku's 11 million, but he says his result is a glimpse of what Nigeria's future could be as he beat the APC and PDP candidates at his polling ward in south-western Ondo State. His political party, the African Action Congress (AAC), was formed six months ago. Activists feel the youth must learn from the low voter turnout, which was a record low of 35.6%. This time round more than half of registered voters were under the age of 35. In coming elections, young people will play an even more important role as more than 40% of Nigeria's population of 196 million is under the age of 14. Mr Sowore says the democratic process must also change, and queried how areas of the country that were witnessing conflict had such a high turnout. He posted a video of legendary Nigerian musician Fela Kuti singing: "People didn't vote, yet they get big, big numbers |
So Agbakoba will enter Lagos Island and tell them Otoge to Tinubu?? LMAO!!! Pls let them make sure they carry a camera crew there, I want to see something. At the end of the day, this will end as a social media rant as usual |
baliyubla:You people will never learn. All these lies to deceive who na? You'll lose again next week and keep wailing. That has become you ppl's strategy.. lie, lose, wail. |
Shuku0kukobambi: ![]() |
MyMouth:National interest!! These judges too feel the pulse of the people. Buhari is very popular, no judge can overturn this election.. none!! If it was some unpopular candidate that magically won, its different but Buhari is still extremely favored among his supporters contrary to what his haters think. For the most part, people have moved on, its just very few ppl still going on in this futile journey. There's no judge in the world that'll risk anything that'll lead to instability. Even in the US, why do people think the topic of impeachment is something that's still dismissed even for an unpopular president like Trump? Because they know any move that'll lead to his removal without solid evidence, evidence without a shred of doubt will lead to instability. I'm talking evidence that shows Trump himself involved in the collusion they're accusing him of. All his children could go to jail and they still won't remove him until they can nail him personally. Good luck with Atiku getting that kind of evidence |
Abeg who went to lie to Atiku that he's in a position to demand anything?? Someone that lost by 4 million votes, not 400, not even 400,000. If Atiku wants to see all these demands fulfilled let him go to court. I don't even understand all these meetings, they're giving him a sense of importance. Let him go to court, spend money and in the end hopefully make our electoral process better. It's our money anyway, he might as well spend it on making Nigeria better. Honestly I feel like Atiku is one of those that surround himself with those that tell him what he wants to hear and not necessarily the truth. |
ITbomb:Secretary of State is a diplomatic attache.. a lot of you really need to go back to school or read more. Being under educated is worse than not being educated at all I swear because while the uneducated admit they may not know and may be willing to learn, the under educated relish in their ignorance |
Bros Atiku is on his own. Men are already falling in line and negotiating. Not even up to a week. Again ordinary dumb people will abuse themselves, fight, curse themselves on top these politicians. Folks that don't care one bit about you. Folks that are there for themselves and will align with the people that'll favor them the most. They stand for nothing but personal interest |
Na by force to collect? Also if you collect, does the rice jazz you to vote for him? |

zayidhs:LMAO! |
The “we will Venezuela you” gang won’t like this |
When you guys finish crying over this election loss i hope you guys regroup but this time make sure you do it with smart people. People that'll put proper solutions forward not ppl that all they know how to do is spread fake news and division. APC lost as much as they did in the SW because of their governors. Buhari won overall in the SW, this your analysis that claims Buhari lost in the SW is just confusing, this thing just happened less than a week ago, do you just assume all of us have forgotten already? All the inner problems in a state like Oyo caused votes to be split. There were 40k votes that went to other parties that should have gone to APC if not for all the in fighting. APC lost Ondo because Akeredolu is a useless governor and if he was up next week, he probably would lose. I hope this makes him sit up and if he doesn't that his business. If we really are serious about this politics and putting the right people there we need the real analysis, the truth so that we know where to focus our energy on. Some of these politicians that remain on top know exactly what the situation is, that's the reason they keep surviving. Let's stop this lazy, social media analysis cos you want to get likes. Atiku was never an option... NEXT!! You guys keep saying only uneducated ppl voted Buhari, my advise, step out of that your terribly small bubble and interact with people smarter than you. What part of being literate makes you support an internationally known thief?? Get out there and again mix with people other than people from whatever corner you live. Its not that people think Buhari is the best guy for the job but a lot just recognised Atiku is a no no. Even Atiku kept dropping clues about what he's interested in but the so-called literates blocked their ears and eyes to anything negative about Atiku cos they hate Buhari. Let me be frank with you guys, y'all are not smart. Y'all have just come together to tell yourselves you are but Atiku as your choice proves otherwise |
. |
In all honesty I actually want Atiku to go to court because it can only make our election process better. However anyone thinking there’ll be any ruling in Atiku’s favor should forget it. How do you prove this? How do you prove it was APC responsible for this? As the APC lawyer, I’ll ask that they prove that these votes actually counted and APC were responsible. My argument will be PDP created this video. Now in a place where they’re doing something so illegal, who believes APC or whoever is responsible would have left the place so open that someone will come and record and the children will be shouting APC up and down. Even those kids were shouting PDP at first before they were corrected. Again how so convenient for some random person to just walk up and see children voting just like that. This ya “evidence” is a dud |
People keep abusing the North without properly educating themselves. These people keep investing in themselves. Rice mills, fertilizer plants, dairy plants, now we're reading about this dry port. If you follow some of these people, you'll see infrastructural developments. Even the Gandudollar with all the "thiefry" keeps unleashing projects. We in South keep thumbing our noses up, calling them poor and illiterates. Most cities in the South can't boast the developments in the North. Rather than us concentrate on keeping our governments accountable we're here doing more intelligent on top nothing |
I'm a science student but I'm not ignorant to that extent nau. So your tinubu never built our home Lagos built tinubu and if he is sure he built Lagos let him leave if that won't be the end of his history

because e go bloody mehn!
