We may be tired of the fire truly, but it doesn't mean we should go back to the frying pan when we have an opportunity to be free.

South deserves 8yrs, not 4

Kriss216:

Sanwo Olu lacks the pedigree to lead.

You can't be leading millions of people and still be naive. As a Governor of a State with power and authority, you can't come to such scenario and be using "Please", "Can you".
You talk with authority.

Only Wike's voice alone will send the abokki CSP into hiding.

@bolded, I guess that's why you feel Sanwoolu should have been brutal with him
The csp is a Yoruba man, not a northerner.

BTW, use of "can you please" is polite English.

If you meet POTUS or UK PM today, he will still talk to you the same way, and that doesn't reduce him.
Now I see that Nigerians prefer dictators and autocrats to rule over them. Whatever is strange in a policemen challenging an ordinary governor as related to a court judgement, when the US army challenged their president and nothing happened

You see why Nigeria deserves the Buhari she gets
When we see democrats who gets things done by due process, we call them weak.

When we see tyrants evil don't care for court judgement, national assembly or rule of law, just to get their personal vendetta, we hail them as strong.

Isn't this how we ended up with Buhari over Gej, one we thought will be ruthless on corruption and insecurity?

yes but doesn't mean the cso position is merely ceremonial. Do you know that the governor of a state holds regular weekly security meetings with all the heads of security agencies posted to that state? So in a way he has a form of contro6. But that control is checked

Lol
What could be more ceremonial than that?
You can't do anything but you are only allowed to hold meetings, chop rice and asun

It was the media and people that blew it out of proportion, there wasn't any disrespect or disregard intended.

There was no disrespect from the csp personally. It was a disrespect from the current constitution of Nigeria. The gov wasn't angry with the csp guy

Apt response from Aketi

Federal police shouldn't be the one over land matters, and shouldn't be in the backyard of the state cso without his knowledge. That's like a coup.

This is all caused by the party leader, Buhari, pretending to be neutral and fair to all, but subtly supporting subterranean moves against formally laid down agreements/rule

He needs to pick a side and make it clear who and who he wants, or he stops covertly supporting anyone and allow a fair contest between all

not surprised bcox the same happened between Mikel n conte wen mikel choosed olympics against club football n dts the same thing that i was saying about the denis case with Watford..
the point is dt, this problem isnt starting this year bcoz of covid, its a been their for long.
European clubs av always believed that January AFCON do disturb club activities BT d difference between then n now is that..
our African legends like Eto, drogba, adebayo, diop, yaya, okocha, kanu etc were all loyal n committed to African football which gave them more respect back then and also dey were more happy representing dier country n playing in Africa unlike the players dt we av today dt are moni chasers for example ziyech..

which coach go tell Drogba, kanoute, adebayo, kanu or Eto to choose between country n club wen AFCON is involved??
whites dnt joke with loyalty, dey wont dare such if dey see one...
I think our players needs to do more or it gets worst than dis..

Smart guy. You mentioned big players like Eto
Why not use struggling African players for your example
Drogba, Kanu, Eto etc will easily find clubs fighting for their signature if their coach decides to do away with them for going for Afcon. Let Iwobi try it. His comatose career will be gone

Let's always try to be real and put ourselves in these guys shoes. The blame is on CAF

NOBODY FORCED THEM TO SIGN AFRICAN PLAYERS. THEY KNEW ABOUT AFCON BEFORE SIGNING THEM, SO KINDLY SPARE US YOUR GARBAGE.

All these ones, the guys on the receiving end are the players, not me and you, not the country they're being loyal to.

You saw what happened to Mikel when he went to represent his country at Olympics. Conte began to bench him and that was the beginning of the end of his career.

Salah may lose his highest goal scorer status because of Afcon

A number of them will fall out of favour when they return. And for all these, what do the players get in return from their country? Countries where they still have to fight for allowances, pay for their hotel from personal money.. Even Guinea president was threatening to make the boys refund money spent on them if they don't win the Afcon

I tire for these coaches... As if Africans make up their entire teams.

They are supposed to have made provisions for such... Losing a player for 3 weeks shouldn't be a huge deal.

What if the player were injured, would they suspend their campaign??! SMH.

So a club should continue paying millions as wages for a player who is playing elsewhere and useless to them when they need him most?

Do you realize this notion is wrong? When their heavily invested european players go for euros and get injured, don't theu come back, recuperate and move on? This is just a very clear move by Napoli to not release him for AFCON and we all know. They should be mature and respect his country by releasing him. It's the right thing to do. How can a club not want a man to honour his fatherland? This is actually very annoying

It's a heavy loss to them na
They are business minded people
Don't worry, by the time clubs begin to boycott African players, then it's our players who will be begging not to feature in Afcon
Sports / Re: Victor Osimhen Tests Positive For COVID-19 by kayuseful: 11:33am On Dec 30, 2021
Lol
Just so you can tie him down from going for Afcon
Send him down here and Let Nigerian doctors test him first

I feel for those clubs anyway,
Coz they've spent so much on those African players, and if the players get injured, it becomes a liability on the club, not country

This might be the last time Afcon will hold during league season. CAF either reschedule future afcons or Europe based African players are axed for it

Beedude:

Giving free rides at this time can also help boost sales by letting more people see how good and itch free the rail service is.
Some people have never board a train all thru their lives. With this offer, they may start using it after the festive period.
The fact that you borrowed money to start a business doesnt mean u cant give discount just to promote same business.

Constructive criticism is what we need pls

Leave that thing my brother
If this was a private company talking, I'll believe. But government?
We all know it's for political reasons, not anything to do with improving business

BTW, They are never short of sales. If they are, it's because their price difference with road transport is too high. they'll reduce this and see massive sales.

In fact, this period, they will eventually be cheaper than road because of the way bus drivers are hiking their prices

This is why Nigeria will never finish repaying the loan.
You’re giving free rides at peak period when you’re supposed to use it to gather the funds needed for the repayment of the loans.
You’re giving free rides on something that isn’t even yours yet.
The first sensible comment

Truth is there is no such thing as "free" transport.
Somebody has to pay for the fuel etc.
Now is it FG that will do this? Same FG that can't find its budget?

I won't be surprised if this is the beginning of the end of the rail transport of PMB admin in Nigeria. And tomorrow we start to hear that the AC is not working again, the chairs are damaged, the windows are bad.. All because money for its maintenance is not forthcoming
